Story
This charming 2-year-old, 6-pound terrier mix is on the lookout for his forever home. Sir Didymus came to us as an owner surrender due to a lack of time, and now he’s ready to find a family who understands his unique needs. While Sir Didymus can be a little nervous and unsure, he’s also got a lot of love to give – when he’s comfortable! He’s a bit head-shy, so it's important to approach him gently and avoid sudden movements, especially from above. He's cautious, but once he feels safe, he loves to crawl into your lap and is okay being picked up and carried. He’s just looking for someone who can be patient with his boundaries and respect his space. Sir Didymus has lived with children before, but due to his uncertainty and occasional snappy nature, we recommend a home without young kids. He would thrive with an experienced adopter who understands terrier traits and can provide him with the time and patience he needs to fully decompress and show his true personality. He’s not housebroken yet, but with consistency and training, he can definitely get there! Sir Didymus would benefit from a good groom, and we believe he may be even more relaxed once he feels better and can see more clearly. If you’re familiar with terrier quirks and can offer Sir Didymus a calm, understanding home, he will reward you with his loyalty and love. Are you the perfect match for this sweet guy? Come meet him today! 🐶💕

Story
This little dude has been through so much and is still a very active dog and loves his walks. He had an emergency splenectomy removing a very large mass that was benign. He had a major dental and has no more teeth so good news, no future dentals will be needed. He does require eye meds twice a day which he happily accepts. He would do best living the rest of his years with a retired person or persons - if you are interested in Baby, please complete this application https://www.aarflv.org/dog-interest-application.html

Story
Oh, Marsha, Marsha, Marsha! You are the cutest, bouncy little one we have ever seen. This adorable blonde bombshell is looking for a lap to rest on. She is estimated to be around one year old and weighs about 8 lbs. Marsha arrived at our local shelter as a stray with a broken pelvic bone and was just hours away from being euthanized when we rescued her. We don’t know when or where her injury occurred, but our vet informed us that she had already begun to heal. Given her age and soft puppy bones, we decided to keep her on crate rest for a couple of months. Now, she is a typical playful, cuddly puppy. Although she sometimes overdoes it, a little rest quickly gets her ready for more fun. Due to her injury, we believe that an adult household, older teenagers, and/or mature dogs would make the best companions for Marsha. She would also thrive as an only dog. Additionally, she comes with a wardrobe and loves getting dressed up! For more information about Marsha and to schedule a meet and greet please fill out the application on our website at www.4pawssakepetrescue.org/ourdogs

Story
She can be very aloof but loving. Been working with her to make her approach more easily. She's the type to follow you to every room but more likely go to her bed, a pillow, blanket, or clothes pile if you call for her attention. She doesnt like being kept in another room even if you are just sleeping. She is bad about not asking to go out much but she knows to use pee pads. She also will go if her sister does and her sister is far better at asking. Never bites. At most snarls and walks a line with her sister when they get grumpy with each other. She never really understood playing but she loves her butt scratched. She's 8 years old. Good health. Rarely, her ears will bug her. She gets obsessive about food. Putting a food bowl in different rooms keeps her from guarding it. Barks at knocks at the door and to be close to you if shut out, but not much else. She needs groomed. She can be a little fussy to groom. Her last picture was today. She is part of a bonded pair with lulu the pom.

Story
Meet Brody, a sweet and gentle 1-year-old Maltipoo who’s ready to find his forever home! Weighing in at 15 lbs., this little guy is a perfect blend of playful and laid-back. Brody has been neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccines. He’s also received a thorough ear and dental exam to ensure he’s in great health. Brody is great on a leash, making walks a breeze, and he loves to bask in the sun poolside when he’s not out exploring. He’s crate trained and sleeps quietly in his crate at night, though he’d be just as happy to snuggle up in bed with you if you don’t mind sharing. He’s currently on a potty schedule and has been making great progress each day. 🥰 Brody is not a barker, but he will let you know when he wants your attention, which makes him a very quiet, easygoing companion. He gets along wonderfully with dogs of all sizes and his calm demeanor makes him the perfect addition to any household. He does need lots of exercise and playtime to tire him out, so we are looking for a family who enjoys hiking or running around and playing ball with him in the backyard. He’s a curious little guy who will follow you around like a shadow, always eager to be close by whether you’re working at your desk or whipping up a meal in the kitchen. When he’s not following you around, you’ll find him happily chewing on his favorite toys or enjoying a peaceful nap on his plush bed. He is a calm, but playful pup looking for a family who will appreciate his sweet nature. He’s the kind of dog who will quietly keep you company, whether you’re working at your desk or relaxing at home. If you’re looking for a loyal companion who’s great with other dogs, loves snuggles, and doesn’t bark much, Brody just might be the perfect fit for your family! We are set to travel to NorCal/Oregon on Feb 21 and would love to include him on our trip for the right home❤️🐾 Located in Hesperia, CA. We offer out-of-state adoptions and can arrange transportation to your location, provided that the transport expenses are covered. The adoption fee for this adorable pup is $1500, which includes all veterinary costs, comprehensive care during his time with us, and ongoing training until he finds his forever home. Get in touch with us today and share details about yourself, the loving home you can provide, and your experience with the breed. We will be in contact with you shortly. Thank you!

Story
Meet Layla, a sweet and playful 7lb Maltese who is just about to turn one in May! Layla is as loving as she is adorable. She’s great with dogs of all sizes and cats, and her friendly nature makes her an instant companion to anyone she meets. She loves being the center of attention and will follow you around, eager to be by your side, whether you’re out shopping or just lounging at home. She’s great on a leash and enjoys short walks outside. She’s always on alert, ready to let you know if someone is at the door with her little bark. Though Layla has been introduced to a crate, she’d much prefer to sleep in a cozy bed beside yours, and she’ll let you know if she’s not fond of being confined. She’s also doing well with potty training, and she loves cuddling up in her bed for a good nap. Layla’s a little social butterfly. If you’re working at your desk or watching TV, she’ll happily curl up in your lap or sit beside you, content to just be nearby. If you’re busy with other things, she’ll happily settle on her own bed or play with her favorite toy, checking in on you every now and then to make sure you’re not going too far. Road trips are one of her favorites. She’s great in the car and loves her little seat beside you. She’s also a big fan of spa days and comes back looking fresh and feeling fabulous after visiting the groomer. 🥰 Sadly, when Layla came to us, we noticed she wasn’t using her back right leg. After an X-ray, our vet confirmed that she has a hip condition that requires femoral head ostectomy surgery, a procedure used to relieve pain from hip dysplasia, arthritis, or traumatic injuries. She’ll need some time to heal and recover, and due to this, Layla isn’t available for adoption just yet. We’re hoping to find a patient and loving forever home that can provide Layla with the care she needs as she heals. If you have experience with hip conditions or are simply someone who can offer a calm, loving environment, Layla will flourish with you. Her adoption fee is $3,000, and any donations to help cover her medical costs are greatly appreciated. If you’re interested in adopting or donating, please reach out to us for more details. Thank you for considering Layla, and we hope to hear from you soon! ❤️ Located in Hesperia, CA. We offer out-of-state adoptions and can arrange transportation to your location, provided that the transport expenses are covered.
