Story
Kokie was owner surrendered from a breeder situation. He is reported to be 3 years old, weighs 9 lbs, is neutered, microchipped, Heartworm tested (negative), has a current rabies shot, and one of this Parvo/Distemper shots. He will need two additional boosters in 3 weeks and 6 weeks. He was very matted so I shaved off what I could to give him some relief but he definitely needs a professional groomer! He is a sweet, happy boy who is playful. His adoption fee is $350. If interested in adopting, you must go to pawspaws.org to complete the application. We will only consider potential adopters after receiving a completed application so please get your application in quickly as he will probably be very popular! If you are approved, you will be notified within 72 hours. If you do not hear back from us, you will know another application was chosen. If he is still pictured, he is still available.

Story
Pearl Lea was surrendered from a breeding situation. She is estimated to have been born on 06/04/2024 and currently weighs 4 lbs. She is expected to be 6-7 lbs when full grown. She does have limited vision in one eyes and since she is a double merle, there is a high probability that she will go blind, possibly at an early age. She will do best in a home with one other small dog and no children under the age of 15. Her adoption fee is $475. Meet and greets will be arranged after we have an approved application. Please note the Petfinder Inquiry (on this page that says Start your Inquiry- IS NOT THE PAWS APPLICATION. You must leave the Petfinder site and go to pawspaws.org to complete the PAWS application. Be sure to include all vet and shot and heartworm information for your current pets or for your past pets even if you no longer have them or they are deceased. If these pups are still pictured on Petfinder, they are still available. (Pictures on our website may not be quite as up to date). Thanks so much for your interest!

Story
Bee Bee was one of 12 yorkies surrendered by a breeder. She is a tiny girl at just 5 lbs and is believed to be born around 08/06/2021, She is timid but sweet and just wants to be loved. She is playful and will do well with one other small dog (under 10 lbs) but won't do well in a home with children under 15, bigger dogs or cats. She is such a little snuggler and has had a rough start to life. Her coat was a bit matted so it has been a work in progress. She still has a lot of staining around her face but I am working on that every day. She will definitely need a "spa day" with the groomer when she finds her forever home! Her adoption fee is $400 - she has been spayed, had a dental, is microchipped, up to date on shots including a rabies shot and is ready for her new home. If you are interested, you must go to pawspaws.org to complete the PAWS application. If she is still pictured, she is available. We will set up meet and greets after we have an approved application. She will be a popular girl so please get your application in!

Story
Tina, our 3 and 1/2-year-old Yorkie mix, is quite the character. When her owner became homeless, she found her way to St. Francis, and let's just say she's not the easiest pup to handle.Tina isn't a fan of small children or large dogs - she's got a bit of an attitude, and her theme song would probably be "I'm a Bitch, I'm a Lover." But despite her sassy personality, she's still searching for her forever home.If you have the patience of a saint and are up for the challenge, Tina could be the perfect pup for you. She may take some time to warm up, but with the right person, she'll shower you with love (and maybe a few sassy comments too). Story
Adoption Fee: $100 Age: 12 years Weight: 7 lbs. Fostered in Fredericktown, MO Email: moyorkiemom@yahoo.com Hi, my name is Charlie and I seem to be in the market for a new family/home. My previous humans could not keep me any longer, so they surrendered me to YHR. I have been having a blast at my foster home. Did someone say that I was 12 years old? Well, I go by the saying, “you are as old as you feel”, and I feel 6! Foster mom brought me to the vet and I am officially up to date on everything. Even had the dentist clean my teeth and take out 9 that needed to be evicted. I’m extremely social. i.e., love all dogs and all people. However, if you don’t have any other dogs, that won’t hurt my diva feelings. That just means I will get more attention. I’m pretty much a free spirit when it comes to my sleeping habits. Sometimes I sleep with foster mom and dad, sometimes a random dog bed and sometimes go in the open kennel. It really just all depends on where I am when I get tired. BUT, beware, I’m told that I SNORE! Apparently very loud. I eat twice a day at my new home, which seems to be good since I would overeat if I were able to free feed. I like playing with toys, so I sure hope my forever home has a bunch of them. I’ve been really good about my potty habits here, but I will need to be brought out often if you expect this to continue. Here’s a tip: I don’t like to go outside when it’s raining. NOPE, not doing it. However, I love baths. I can’t explain it. I also like being brushed. A girl cannot be too pretty. I’m learning to walk with a harness and leash if anyone wants to take me on a walk, but I’d like a fence in yard to potty and play in. I love to snuggle with my people, love to be held, sit in laps, giving kisses, receiving belly rubs, showing and receiving affection, and, basically any form of attention. Normal household noises don’t seem to bother me. So far, I’ve only barked when foster mom or dad initially leave the house. I get a little anxious on car rides, but if you let me ride in your lap, it’s much better. Also, during storms, I like my people to be near. Other than that, I’m pretty unfazeable. Still trying to learn the pet steps, so you may have to just pick me up and put me down. Since I’m so social, I could be considered a flight risk when a door is open. I’m just happy go lucky and don’t know all the trouble I could get into, so it’s obviously going to be your job to make sure I’m secure. I hate to boast, but I’m a great baby with an adorable face and body and a cute name. I will do great in any home with dogs or will thrive as an only dog as well. I’m definitely a Velcro dog and like to be included on all that’s going on. So, who wants me?
