You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Adoption Bio for Jack   Meet Jack , a 10-year-old Yorkshire Terrier with a heart as big as his tiny 7.75-pound frame. Jack has faced a lot of uncertainty lately, but he hasn’t let that dull his sweet, affectionate personality. He’s currently under a hold until Friday, January 17, but once that hold is lifted, Jack will be ready to find a loving forever home.   Jack absolutely adores people and thrives on companionship. When left alone, he cries in his kennel, longing for human interaction. Despite his kennel time, he’s proven to be tidy and housebroken, making him a great fit for someone who values cleanliness and good manners in a pup.   While Jack prefers human company, he’s a bit timid around other dogs. During meet-and-greets, he tends to back away from more assertive pups but has shown curiosity around calmer, submissive dogs. He’s the kind of companion who would flourish in a quieter home where he can be the center of attention or with a calm dog who respects his space.   Jack does have some medical challenges. He has a large dermal mass under his right eye, which is being treated with topical antibiotics to prevent infection, and he also has periodontal disease. While these issues don’t dim his spirit, they will need ongoing care. Jack is not yet neutered but would benefit from a family willing to address his health needs and give him the care he deserves.   If you’re looking for a devoted, gentle soul to brighten your life, Jack might just be your perfect match. He’s waiting for a second chance at love—could it be with you?  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.January 30, 2025, 4:01 am

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Meet Bella Joy: The Sweetest Snuggle Bug! Bella Joy is an 8-year-old Yorkie with a heart as big as her 17-pound frame! She’s an affectionate, playful girl who loves being close to her human, whether it’s following you around during the day or snuggling under the covers at bedtime.   What Bella Joy Loves: • Walks & Playtime: She’s leash trained, adores going on walks, and would love a furry sibling to play with. She also gets along well with cats! • Cuddle Time: Bella Joy is happiest when she’s by your side, ready to offer endless love and companionship.   A Few Special Needs: Bella Joy has an enlarged heart that pushes on her trachea, causing occasional coughing and wheezing. She also has Degenerative Valve Disease. She’s on two lifetime medications (one for her heart and one for respiratory support), and she takes them like a champ with her food. The good news is that her cough syrup helps keep her comfortable. Note: Bella Joy cannot eat grain-free food.   Overnight Care: Recently, Bella Joy has needed a diaper for overnight as she isn’t waking up to go outside. She goes out right before bed but has been sleeping through accidents. She does well with pee pads and diapers, making overnight care manageable.   A Gentle Soul: Bella Joy has had a tough year, losing her human and adjusting to new surroundings. She may be a bit shy at first, but with a little patience and love, she’ll show you her amazing, sweet personality.   The Perfect Home: Bella Joy would thrive in a calm, loving home where she can receive her daily medications and all the snuggles she desires. She’d do well with another friendly dog or even a cat and would be the ideal companion for someone who is home often and can manage her simple overnight needs.   If you’re ready to open your heart and home to Bella Joy, please apply at www.TiredDogRescue.org . Let’s give this lovely lady the forever family she deserves! Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.February 25, 2025, 12:36 pm

Story
UPDATE! Meet Ellie May! This sweet girl was surrendered after her mom had a new baby and she just couldn’t adjust. Ellie May is an adorable yorkie mix. She’s 4 years old and 10 lbs. She is a little timid at first but opens up quickly. She would do best in a home without small kids but does well with other dogs. She is utd, hw neg (tested below detectable levels) and spayed.  Our adoptions are NOT on a first come first serve basis and there is no fee to apply! We never state any animal is fully House-trained. New environments, situations, families, routines, ect. can lead to accidents even with the most well trained animals.  All dogs have a $175 adoption fee which includes vet check, age appropriate shots (atleast 2 sets for puppies), dewormer, heartworm test (if over 6 months), rabies (if atleast 16 weeks) and spay/neuter! Puppies will be altered before adoption. All rescues and shelters practice pediatric spay and neuter. This is essential in our rescue efforts and it is a policy that we will stick by. All dogs over 8 weeks and 2 pounds will be altered before adoption. There are no exceptions to this rule on all healthy and adoptable dogs. We have researched and discussed in depth with multiple vets everything on pediatric spay and neuter and from a rescue stand point it must be done. Please do not ask for an extension on spay and neutering, it will NOT be granted on a healthy puppy!  Puppies/Dogs that are not available for adoption due to vetting not being complete can be reserved with an approved application and a non refundable $50 deposit. Deposits can ONLY be submitted once the rescue has been in contact on your approval and it has been requested through Wags and Whiskers. This deposit is applied to your adoption fee and the remaining $125 is due at pick up. Wags and Whiskers is an all-volunteer rescue. Please allow us time to respond to all inquires and applications! Thank you!
