You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. If interested in any of our animals for adoption, or to foster an animal, please fill out the respective application here to get the process started. Visit our FAQ webpage for commonly asked questions about our adoption/foster process. &#226&#128&#139Hello my name is Todd! I’m a 5-year-old yorkie.  I’m a spunky boy who loves to run around and explore! I love to play and carry my toys around. I would do best in a home with older children who are dog savvy as I’m not a fan of being handled and will steal toys. I have a underbite and some funny bottom teeth but foster mom just says it adds character! I tend to be a sassy at times and have resource guarding issues. I’m not fully potty trained yet and I’m having a hard time learning it so I will need a home that can be patient with that. My perfect forever home would be with someone who is home often and can help me work on my training, if I could be the only pet in the home that would be best! I could be good with dogs and cats with training but as my resource guarding tends to make me not like my things touched it would be better for me to be the only child. I’m a very sweet boy just need some help to bring out my potential! If sound like I could be your future best friend send in an application to meet me! Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.Last Day Dog Rescue now microchips all animals before adoption. Microchips are implanted between the animals shoulder blades and are a permanent form of identification. The microchips are registered to Last Day Dog Rescue with the adopter's info added once adopted. If the animal is ever lost and slips his/her collar/tags the microchip allows the finder to know who to contact if scanned for a microchip. Animals MUST still have a collar with tags on at all times. Per our contract, we take all our animals back if for any reason you can't keep your adopted animal. Please understand the statements about this animal are based upon the foster home's evaluation of the animal. The animal might behave differently (negatively or positively) in your home. While the animal might be good with the current foster’s dogs, cats, children, etc., it may not be with your animal(s) or children. The animal may be housebroken or litter trained in the home of the foster but may relapse in your home. The animal is represented to the public as it performs in the foster home and any statements made regarding the animal are conditional to that foster home setting. Please understand that statements made regarding this animal are simply overviews and are not guaranteed. The Petfinder.com system requires that we choose a predominant breed or breed mix for our animals. Visual breed identification in animals is unreliable so for most of the animals we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each animal as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our animals based on personality, not by breed label. Thank you for looking through our list of animals needing forever homes and choosing rescue first. We appreciate you stopping by. October 16, 2024, 12:31 pm

Story
MEET BENNY: Benny is a 10 year old, 11 lbs, Yorkshire Terrier. He is a charming little senior Yorkie who found himself looking for a new home after being a stray. This sweet guy has plenty of pep still left in his step and is eager to enjoy his golden years with the right companion.  Benny is a wise old soul who, though he may not hear quite as well as he once did or see as sharply due to age-related nuclear sclerosis, still thrives on affection and gentle interaction. His dental health was terrible when he was found, resulting in a toothless smile that endearingly reveals his tongue. As Benny has no teeth left, he will need a soft food diet to keep him happy and healthy.   Due to his relaxed demeanor and sweet nature, Benny would thrive in a quieter adult home where he can enjoy a slower pace of life. Ideally, he would prefer a fenced yard, as he lacks full understanding of leash walks. He’s great with other dogs, though he would appreciate the company of lower-energy canine friends. Benny has no issues with cats and has a good understanding of house manners. Regular grooming will be essential to keep Benny looking and feeling his best. His soft, luxurious coat deserves a little extra attention to keep him looking handsome. With a quiet demeanor and an affectionate spirit, Benny is looking for someone who can offer love, care, and a warm lap to curl up on. While he may take a little extra patience and understanding due to his age, the rewards of having this sweet boy by your side will be immeasurable. Are you ready to give Benny the loving home he deserves? If you’re looking for a loyal companion to share the serene moments of life with, Benny is waiting for you. Consider completing an adoption application; let’s give Benny the forever home he has been dreaming of!  Benny is:Current on Rabies and DistemperDewormedHeartworm Tested: NegativeReceiving Heartworm and Flea PreventionMicrochippedNeutered and underwent dental extractions. ADOPTION FEE: $300 IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN THIS PET, PLEASE COMPLETE THE APPROPRIATE APPLICATION FOUND ON OUR WEBSITE HTTP://FUREVERTAILS.COM. Unfortunately, at this time we are not currently adopting outside of the state of MI. Story
Name: Ciroc Breed: YorkieAge: Adult (5-7 years old)Weight: 5lbs Background: Ciroc was previously part of a large breeder operation, where he was used for breeding purposes. Due to an unexpected medical issue, the "greeder" was forced to surrender all the dogs, including these sweethearts. Health: Ciroc was neutered and had a dental cleaning and many extractions due to proper dental care and nutrition. Personality: Ciroc is social and friendly, but may be initially shy and hesitant due to his history of breeding versus enjoying life as a family pet. He will make a great lap dogs and enjoys human interaction. He is good with other dogs and gets along well with cats. Household Requirements: Potty Training: Ciroc is accustomed to using potty pads, but he has been also working hard to perfect his house manners. He will require a patient family to help him adjust to new potty habits. Leash Walking: He is not accustomed to walking on a leash and will require some time to adjust. He may not potty on a leash or walk very far. Containment: Due to his lack of leash training, he will need some physical means of containment to prevent him from wandering off or getting into trouble. Grooming: Regular grooming is essential to keep their coats clean and healthy. Stairs: He is not accustomed to navigating stairs, so he will need to be monitored around steps or carried to/from.  Furniture: He is not used to being on furniture, so he will need a family to ensure his safety. Children: Older children (ages 8+ recommended) would be best suited for this tiny boy. Surroundings: Due to his petite size, he may require a family that is aware of their surroundings to ensure that he is not stepped on as he can be a tripping hazard. Ideal Home: A patient and understanding family with a stable routine is essential for this lovable Yorkie. With consistent training, socialization, and plenty of love, he will thrive in his new forever home. If you're ready to open your heart and home to Ciroc, please consider completing an adoption application! Ciroc is:Current on Bordetella, Rabies and DistemperDewormedHeartworm Tested: NegativeReceiving Heartworm and Flea PreventionMicrochippedNeutered and recently underwent a dental cleaning/extractions.ADOPTION FEE: $400 IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN THIS PET, PLEASE COMPLETE THE APPROPRIATE APPLICATION FOUND ON OUR WEBSITE HTTP://FUREVERTAILS.COM. Unfortunately, at this time we are not currently adopting outside of the state of MI. Story
Roxie~born~May 2013Special BreedI'm a diva. THERE! I SAID it!! And I'm proud of it! And I will LET you KNOW it! AND I will NOT STOP NAGGING you until I get what I WANT!! And I MEAN IT!! (My foster mom used to squirt water at me to "bring me out of it", as she puts it, but now she just shows me the bottle, and I stop.)She squirted WATER at me!! Like I'm a CAT!! There's a few of those here. I've let them know how I feel about THEM! Stupid things. When I got here, boy, I was MAD!!! For a whole WEEK I was mad! So mad that my foster mom gave me my OWN bedroom, with a screen door on it so I could get use to the other critters. Every time she came near me, I'd try to chew off her TOES!! She had to keep a leash on me so she could get me outside. And she had to pick it up QUICKLY, because I'd try to BITE her. But she's really kind. And I was getting lonely, so I asked her politely if I could come out of my room and have her hold me. And, of course, she said yes (but she was a bit scared). She still kept my leash on me, just in case, but one morning she took a chance and QUICKLY unbuckled it. And I didn't try to bite her.I'm from Florida. Oh, FLORIDA!! Where it's ALWAYS warm...and sunny...not like Michigan, where it's been cold and grey and rainy. I had a great life with my mom in Florida, but she died, so I went to live with her granddaughter here in Michigan. But she couldn't give me the life she felt I deserved, so she was brave and gave me to PAAW so I could find another home. And I was SO MAD!!!It's nice here at my foster home. I made some friends (but there's another girl dog here that I don't like, so I start fights with her). AND...I have a boyfriend! ooOOoo!! He's a Yorkie. Like me. I still have my own bedroom . (Sometimes he comes in my bedroom with me, hee hee hee.) My foster mom tried moving my crate and my soft bed (it's my very own, the one I had when I moved here) out of the bedroom, but I didn't like it. So she moved me back into the bedroom. When I want to go there, I ask her politely (I can be NICE when I want to), and she lets me in. Sometimes I go in because I'm tired. Sometimes because I want to be alone. And sometimes because I'm in a BAD MOOD. And then I SULK! With my BACK to the DOOR! Sometimes when I'm in a bad mood, she sings my name to me over and over. And it calms me.I'm 10 years old. I don't know my birthdate. I've had babies (cuz I've got boobies!). I got spayed on Friday (May 5). They looked at my teeth when I was sleeping and said that I need dental work done. They also said that I have a mammary mass, so I guess I'm going to have another vet visit.I have this habit of having little puddles of pee come out of me. My foster mom thinks I don't always have control. She thinks it just kind of comes out. She had me wear diapers for a while, really CUTE ones from Amazon, but I decided that I didn't want to wear them anymore, so now I try to BITE her when she tries to put them on. I do ask to go outside; I'm good with that.My foster mom knows I want a lot of love, and that I have a lot of love to give, and she thinks I might be OK having a brother, but I don't like having sisters. My foster mom thinks I'm just jealous. I LOVE it when she picks me up and cradles me in her arm and "tickles" my belly. I LOVE looking her in her eyes when she does that. And then I close my eyes and just enjoy the "tickling".I'm up-to-date on all of my vaccines, and I'm heartworm negative, and I'm microchipped. If I'm too much of a diva for you, do you know of someone else? My foster mom says that I'm really loving, when I'm not being a diva or in a bad mood. Oh, and I have some mats that are bugging me. But I'll get a haircut when I'm sleeping during my dentist appointment._____The adoption fee includes age-appropriate vaccinations, heartworm test, spay/neuter and microchip! Please use these links for our:Online Adoption Application: paawarren.org/adopt/adoption-application-formWebsite for details, info: paawarren.org
