Meet Ethel Ethel is an 7.5 pound adorable playful and loving little girl...estimated to be about a year old or under. Surrendered by an elderly owner who could no longer care for her so still in need of training, such as housebreaking and leash walking but she is a wonderful little dog. PLEASE NOTE- AN APPLICATION FROM THE WEBSITE ALMOSTHOMEDOGS.ORG IS REQUIRED prior to any meet and greet. Calling, emailing and using the “contact us” link is not useful and will delay your consideration in the adoption of the dog. Petfinder inquires are not sent to us. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. 2nd Chance 4 Life Rescue is primarily a sanctuary for senior and medically needy dogs. Every once in awhile you will see younger dogs but for the most part our dogs live out their life at the ranch at the request of their previous owners or their owners families. We have many sponsorship dogs. Our sponsors love to keep in touch and know how their sponsored fur buddy is doing :)When we have foster families we are thrilled to be able to take adoptable younger dogs :) So if you have ever thought about becoming fosters please feel free to go to our foster/volunteer page and fill out an application.The Ranch located at 737 Taylor Rd., Windsor, PA is always looking for dedicated volunteers that will commit to at least a 2 hour shift per week at the rescue. Volunteers work in play yards, help with laundry and feeding. My last house had 148 dogs and it was REALLY nasty!!! The authorities finally came and got us all!! Here at the ranch I get spa days and the food is real good and we have a huge field to play in!! My best friend is Layla. She is really scared so I stay close to her so she feels safe and hopefully at some point she will start to trust humans again. The volunteers are really nice. They hold us and talk to us and its VERY different from what we were used to! When he's not exploring new frontiers or fighting storm troopers, this sweet, cuddly boy is diligently working on potty, crate, and obedience training. Full of puppy energy and playfulness, Han would do well with an experienced adopter committed to continuing his training and giving him a safe, loving home. This dog's adoption fee is $500. ***Note that puppy adoption fees most often help generate revenue that goes towards older, special needs animals that need our help. Surgeries, heartworm treatment, boarding costs....all things that often result in adoptable dogs and cats being left behind to be euthanized. So adopting a puppy saves not just one life, but many! Puppies require an adopter who is home a good part of the day to continue their training - no exceptions! They are up-to-date on age appropriate vaccines and preventatives and will need to be spayed/neutered at the age of 6 months. Please note, this pup's immune system will not be fully functioning until about 16 weeks of age and therefore, s/he is not suited for Apartment/Condo living or Town homes without a private fenced yard and will not be able to go to public places where s/he could possibly be exposed to the germs of unvaccinated dogs, such as PetSmart/PetCo and dog parks until s/he is 16 weeks old. Benny is a sweet little dog. He has had a rough road since he’s been in this little world. He was in a puppy mill and he has had some special issues since we have had him, but we feel that he is ready for his forever loving well deserved home we feel that he would be better with one person a lady preferred a quiet home, no other animals he is potty trained on puppy pads.
