Story
T8R, affectionately known as Tater, is a charming 6-year-old Morkie (Maltese/Yorkshire Terrier) with a heartwarming tale of rescue from the brink of shelter euthanasia. Despite enduring past mistreatment, T8R, fondly called Tate, exudes sweetness once he builds a bond with you, showering you with kisses and embracing moments of being picked up. To ensure his well-being, this endearing boy seeks a tranquil and nurturing forever home where his anxieties can be understood and embraced with unwavering patience and love. While the journey of building trust with T8R may require time, his new companion will play a pivotal role in supporting him every step of the way. Ideal for T8R is a female owner, given his history of abuse from men. Environments devoid of children and large dogs are paramount, as loud noises trigger fear responses, and interactions with bigger canines can be challenging. T8R thrives in the company of friendly small dogs but may exhibit protectiveness over items due to past insecurities. He may prefer being the sole dog in the household, with occasional small dog playdates for socialization. While he shows maturity in staying alone at home and is mostly housetrained, occasional accidents may occur. T8R is still acclimating to leash walking but has shown progress under the guidance of his foster mom. Regular grooming may necessitate sedation, a process he handles well. Engaging in ball chasing brings T8R immense joy, even if returning the ball isn't his forte. While he may not be the typical lap dog, T8R's preference for sleeping next to you on the floor highlights his loyal nature.  To aid T8R in overcoming his fears, prospective adopters must commit to meeting a trainer before finalizing the adoption, ensuring a gradual and supportive transition tailored to T8R's pace. Adoptions for T8R are limited to a 50-mile radius of the Omaha/Council Bluffs area to facilitate ongoing access to the valuable training provided by our certified positive reinforcement trainer. The suggested adoption donation for T8R is $300.  We are a 501c3 organization which means that your donation may be TAX DEDUCTIBLE. Your donation goes toward the high cost of veterinary care for our animals in rescue, as well as providing supportive services to animals in homes. Information about the adoption process: All adoptions require a completed ADOPTION APPLICATION. Once your application is approved, we will put you in touch with the dog’s foster to see if you and the pet are a good match. If so, we will arrange a meeting for you and the pet. The adoptions for all of our animals will take place in the Omaha, NE area and must be done by the adoptive family in person. We do not ship or deliver. If this pet is not spayed or neutered at the time of adoption due to limited vetting availability, a voucher will be given to the adopter to take the pet to be altered at NHS free of charge. Alterations are REQUIRED for all Muddy Paws adoptions. The contract states the alter must be done within ONE month of the adoption date or adopter will be in breach of contract. Adopter is required to provide proof of alter to Muddy Paws Rescue immediately after procedure complete. Thank you in advance for your compliance. Please Note: We are a RESCUE, which is different from a shelter. We conduct veterinary and personal reference checks during the application approval process. We always select the right applicant for each dog, based on the dog’s needs. If you and the dog are not a good match, we will help you select another dog, or we will keep your approved application on file for 6 months. Story
Introducing Bruno (born Nov 2021), a Yorkie mix.  He needs your help finding a new place! Bruno is a little timid at first, but will love you once you gain his trust.  He is a ladies man, so he will need a home with no men.  He would also be best with no kids around.  He loves to hang out with his person.  He will bark at noises, so may not be a good dog for an apartment.  He doesn't like to be away from his person, so he's not fond of being in a kennel.  He is a young dog with an old soul, but the puppy in him does come out occasionally.  He needs someone to give him all the love, attention, and cuddles he deserves.  Apply to adop Bruno today! The suggested adoption donation for Bruno is $375. Muddy Paws is a 501c3 non-profit organization meaning that part of your donation MAY be TAX DEDUCTIBLE. We are a 100% volunteer rescue committed to giving animals a second chance at life. All donations go toward that mission. Adoption fees are the primary source of funding for the cost of veterinary care for our animals.  In 2021 alone, we provided animal Healthcare totaling over $307,000 covered mainly through adoption fees. Information about the adoption process: All adoptions require a completed ADOPTION APPLICATION. Once your application has completed our prescreen steps, we will put you in touch with the animal’s foster to see if you and the pet are a good match. If so, we will arrange a meeting for you and the animal. The adoptions for all of our animals will take place in the Omaha, NE area and must be done by the adoptive family in person. We do not ship or deliver.  Please Note: We are a RESCUE, which is different from a shelter. We conduct veterinary and personal reference checks, and a Home Visit (Virtual in some cases) during the application approval process. We always select the right applicant for each animal, based on the animal’s needs. If you and the animal are not a good match, we will help you select another animal, or we will keep your approved application on file for 6 months.  To learn about Muddy Paws Second Chance Rescue or donate to our animals, please visit our website at MuddyPawsSecondChanceRescue.com or our Facebook Page Muddy Paws Second Chance Rescue Inc. ##1635216##

Story
Polly is a Yorkie, born 2016.  She needs a new place with her forever friend, Molly (also a Yorkie, born 2015).  They are both friendly around new people and kids, but have mostly been around adults.  They know some commands and need a fenced yard.  Molly loves meeting new people, but is more timid and uncertain the first month or so in a new home. Polly is more reserved when meeting new people, but is more outgoing at home. Every week, a little more of their personalities come out!  They love and depend on each other. They play & wrestle and then take naps next to each other. They are both great with the two small Yorkies at their foster home, but we're not sure how they would do with bigger dogs or cats.  Neither like sudden movements or yelling/screaming that young kids do when they’re playing. Polly is a former breeder release and is still timid.  She’s a little scared of being picked up too quickly and sometimes might pee a little.  Teenagers that understand this would be okay (age 12+), no young kids. The perfect family for them would be with adults who are patient and home most of the day.  Someone that works from home would be great. They love a lap to curl up on and belly rubs are the best!!  Bonus if they are the only dogs in the home. The suggested adoption donation for Molly & Polly is $750, which includes a lifetime of free relationship-based training for any behavioral problems (not obedience training). Story
This is my dog Rocky, an 8.5 year old Yorkshire Terrier. He is full of love and energy but also loves to snuggle when inside (especially when you have a blanket). My parents are moving to Florida and do not think they can for care him with how much they want to travel too. Rocky loves walks, car rides, and to play independently or with people. Important things to note about him is that although he is mostly potty trained he still does have occasional accidents. He does really well with a bell-system where he will ring the bell attached to the door when he needs to go outside. Rocky also loves to beg for food but he never steals anything off of plates, but will give you his puppy eyes. He is not crate trained but he is used to staying home during the day while my parents were at work and would sleep in his bed in their closet. Rocky would prefer a home where he is an only pet because he can also tend be a little reactive around bigger dogs. Rocky would make a wonderful buddy.

Story
I am sad to have to make this profile but I am unable to meet my puppies needs as he has not been adjusting to my work schedule, he will need a more attentive home as I work 10 hour night shifts. He is a great dog but I am unable to properly train him with his anxiousness of being alone.
