Story
My fiance got Oreo a few years ago from someone selling dogs in Atlanta. Oreo is now 5 years old, and I looking for a new home where he can get the time, attention, and care he deserves. With a baby on the way, it's been challenging to focus on Oreo's obedience struggles. My fiance and I have differing views on discipline, and I truly want Oreo to be in a loving home where he can thrive and reach his full potential as the amazing dog I know he is. Oreo is energetic, smart, loyal, and incredibly loving. He is great with other pets; cats and dogs, and he absolutely adores children. While he does need training and someone patient to work with him, he is also a sweet and lovable companion who just wants to be part of a caring family. My hope is to find him a home where he will not only be trained but also deeply loved and appreciated. He's my best bud and I'm really sad to give him up, but I want him to be appreciated and loved in the best way.

Story
Let’s give Neo a forever home for his golden years! Neo was given up to us through no fault of his own. His family was not able to care for a dog anymore. We were told that he was 8 years old (and his vet records from his owner state 8 years old), but he acts older than that. He seems to be deaf or at least very hard of hearing and he is on a daily NSAID to help with arthritis. Neo is quiet and loves to sleep in warm beds and to get treats. He would do best in a calm home. He gets along with other dogs, but young puppies may be too much for him. He does well with kids. Neo has not been around cats as far as we know. He recently had a dental and bloodwork with us, so he should be good for at least another year. Yorkies have notoriously bad teeth and most need yearly dentals when they are seniors. Another common thing with yorkies is trouble housetraining- and this fits Neo to a T! He can hold it when he wants to, but he often has a favored place on the floor to do his business even after being outside. House training was a struggle with him for his first family, but his foster family is familiar with senior yorkies. Neo is crate trained. If you are interested in adopting Neo, please fill out an application at https://new.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/FAY-A-8478 **Applications can take anywhere from 5-7 business days to complete. When filling out an application, please check for a confirmation email to be sure that your application went through. We respond by email, so please check your spam and trash folders. If you need to reach us regarding your application, the best way to contact us is through email.** We are located in Fayette County, GA and are a foster based rescue without a shelter building.

Story
Atlanta, GA INTRODUCING REMINGTON We know, we know. We did say that we were done for the year due to the need for building up donations and simply put, we are very hesitant to adopt out dogs during the holiday season. We want to ensure that our dogs are adopted out as a lifetime commitment and never as holiday “presents”. But sometimes we find ourselves in extenuating circumstances - like with Remington. You see, Remington (Remi for short) was in need of being rehomed after his Grandma was diagnosed with cancer and dementia. His mom became a full time caretaker and just couldn’t keep up anymore - so we decided to step in. Remi is a 1 year old male blonde Yorkshire terrier (potentially mixed - Embark DNA test is pending) who is dog friendly, cat friendly and child friendly. If you’re looking for a snuggly lap dog and a 24/7 Velcro dog who doesn’t want to leave your side but is always up for an adventure - Remi might just be your guy! Remi has been vetted (excluding boosters upcoming in January), neutered, has had a dental cleaning and is microchipped. Yorkshire terriers are a high maintenance breed that require daily grooming. Additionally, adopters should be prepared for daily dental brushing and regular professional dental cleanings. Remi's current weight is 8 lbs. He is house trained and crate trained, however due to how tiny he is he can only hold his bladder for about 5 hours excluding overnight while he's sleeping. Remington is not trained to use potty pads. Again, we want to ensure applicants understand that Remi is NOT a Christmas present. He will live (God willing) another 15-20+ years with proper care and nutrition. If you are interested, please submit an application on our website: https://themadduxmovement.godaddysites.com/adoption-application **Adoption Fees are listed on our Available Dogs page on our website** ____________________________________________ The Maddux Movement is a non-profit foster based rescue located in Atlanta, GA. Our mission is to rescue and rehome animals that are in abusive, neglectful or endangering situations, which includes traditional or open admission shelters, strays, owner surrenders and puppy mills. Adoptions are not based on a first come first serve basis. The individual(s) selected will be chosen by what is best for each animal. Although our rescue is breed focused, we are not a breed restrictive rescue. All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, microchipped and up to date on vaccinations (including leptospirosis and canine influenza). Additionally, each adopted dog will be sent home with a personalized adoption kit, a copy of The Forever Dog Life by Rodney Habib and Dr. Karen Becker and a complimentary dog blanket.

Story
This adorable little guy is Max. His family lost there home and Max cam to the shelter on 12/2. Max is 10 years young and weighs in at 7 pounds. He knows to sit when asked. He could really use a spa day and some cuddles to be feeling as good as new. Wouldn't you like to wake up to that little smile every morning? Ask for ID# 6609 Run 205. He is neutered. He will be micro-chipped upon adoption. He has tested negative for heart worm. Note - all the listings on Friends of Shelter Animals for Cobb are done by volunteers. If this cat or dog came in as a lost animal, we do not know how they might be with children, other pets, or if house trained. You can bring your pet to the shelter for a meet & greet with your potential new best friend. When inquiring about a cat or dog, please use THE ID NUMBER. This pet is available for adoption from Cobb County Animal Services, 1060 Al Bishop Dr. Marietta, GA 30008, (770) 499-4136. Story
Stella is available for pre-adoption at this time until her spay appointment on 12/12. Stella is such a sweet puppy. She was surrendered to animal control with her mom who weighs 24# (Ella who is also for adoption) and her sister Bella. Her dad was also surrendered and he was a yorkie. We believe she will weigh around 15-20 pounds full grown. Her birthday is 10/1/24. OUR PETS ARE SHELTER PETS. WE HAVE VERY LITTLE, IF ANY, INFORMATION ABOUT THEIR PAST. PLEASE BE COMMITTED AND PREPARED TO TRAIN/RETRAIN YOUR NEW PET. REMEMBER, THEY MUST HAVE TIME TO DECOMPRESS. If you have not heard of the 333 Rule, please Google it. If you are interested in making this pup part of your family, please email us at madrescuega@gmail.com . Please give a brief description of your home, family and what you are looking for in a new furry family member. You may include anything else you think will move you to the top of the adoption list. We are located in Hollywood, SC but this dog is being fostered and is available for adoption in Newborn GA. If you are not local to the area, we can refer you to a transport company. This company is not affiliated with the Rescue and will charge a separate fee.
