Story
Yes I was a holy mess, but at one time I must have been beautiful, because once I was groomed I look like a princess. I had a micro-chip, but whoever owned me let me get like this, or I was out on my own for some time. The mats were so tight all over I could hardly walk. In addition to being a holy mess, I had tumors the size of golf balls and baseballs on my body. My rescue family took care of all my medical issues and now I'm ready for my forever home. I'm so affectionate, and active. I'd love a family with older children (over 12) because I'm only about 8-10lbs. I must have a fenced yard...NON NEGOTIABLE. It doesn't have to be acreage, but large enough so I can romp around a bit. I've got a strong personality so I would be best as an only dog. I've not had any problems at rescue, but during some trials I've behaved like a bully. The shelter had my age as 11, but I act like I'm 7 or 8. If your looking for a sweet Yorkie, I'm your girl!

Story
If you&#39re looking for an adorable Yorkie/Mix, Kylee is the girl for you! She is a senior girl who was sadly surrendered to a Metro Atlanta Shelter before BarkVille Dog Rescue pulled her. She weighs just 12lbs, and is the ultimate companion - she is both sweet and social! Due to her age, Kylee doesn&#39t have great vision or hearing, but she doesn&#39t let that slow her down. She is healthy otherwise, but only has 1 tooth left, so she requires soft dog food for her meals. When she&#39s not heading out for a stroll (her favorite activity!), Kylee spends most of her day snoozing and would love a comfortable lap or sofa to spend the rest of her days on! We would love to find a wonderful home for this loving and deserving girl. Kylee is spayed, fully vaccinated, and microchipped. If you&#39re interested in adopting this sweet girl, please email us at info@barkvilledogrescue.org or submit an application at https://www.barkvilledogrescue.org/applications. BarkVille is located in Roswell, GA and our dogs are available for foster/adoption in the Greater Atlanta area. Applicants in surrounding states could potentially adopt a BarkVille dog if their application is approved, they live within 2-3 hours of the Greater Atlanta area, and they are able to pick up their dog from the foster home.November 3, 2024, 9:25 pm

Story
LOOKING FOR MY PERSON:  Approx. 13 years old / Approx. 13 lbs.  Hi, my name is Bessie!  I lived with my family my entire life, but their living situation changed, and they are relocating to a home where pets are not allowed.  That makes me sad, but I am so grateful that Mostly Mutts will work to help me find a new home.  I am in a wonderful foster home while I wait for my furever family to find me! • OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS:  I did not like the dogs I met at Mostly Mutts, so no dogs please. I tolerated a dog in one temp. foster home, but another temp. foster said I barked at dogs that entered the same room as me as well as those I passed on my walks, so I do not want to live with them. / My former family reported that I did not like cats and Mostly Mutts agrees. / I excitedly went after ankles of kids I met in a foster home and since I have bitten, best no kids.     • PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL:  I’m a playful girl who likes toys and sometimes acts younger than my age.  I’m called a spry girl and had a blast playing with the volunteer photographer!  I’m a sweet girl who accepts affection most of the time, though I have guarding behaviors when it comes to things like my bed, treats and people.  Once I find my person, I don’t really want to share them too much. This can be a trainable situation and my trainer will be happy to talk to you.  I can be a bit temperamental and once bit my former foster mom, though I did have a urinary tract infection, so that may have had a bit to do with it. My former owner did not report any bites.  My foster said I like new people to go slow as I get to know them so, please be patient with me as I adjust to my new home and any new people I meet.  It just took a few days for me to feel comfortable with a temp. foster when my regular foster was away.  She even called me a ‘real love bug.’  I think I would do best in a home with a small circle of regular people and not too many people coming and going.  Once I am settled, I am sure to show you how sweet I can be!  / My energy level is 4-6. • SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY:  I have already learned the ‘sit’, ‘come’, ‘leave it’ and ‘place’ commands.  I also walk well on a leash.  My trainer at the shelter is great with the little dogs with big personalities, so ask to talk to her when setting up a meeting with me.  My former family reported that I also knew the word ‘no’ and ‘good job’ for praising me. In my former foster home, I knew the words ‘outside’ for going out, and ‘up’, for going up stairs and that I could ‘sit’ when I choose to – lol. / My crate manners were good at Mostly Mutts.  My foster says I go in and out of my open crate to rest or clean myself, but get a bit stressed if I have to be crated during the day.  Usually I am allowed to have free reign of my foster home when she goes to work and I do great with that.  I sleep in bed with my foster and really like that.  There was one report of biting a former foster while asleep / just waking up, just so you know.  I can sleep in my crate if that is better for you.  / My potty habits have been good on the shelter schedule, and in my foster home.   • LIKES/DISLIKES:  I love going for walks and playing fetch.  It was fun playing in the fall leaves too. I enjoy having my cheeks and the top of my head rubbed as well as cuddles and scratches on my back.  Playing with toys is also fun and I enjoy hanging out with my person.  I love treats just as much as toys and playtime.  I do seem to prefer women to men. / I don’t like to be picked up, so let me come to you, please.  I’m also not a fan of having my paws, tummy or rear end rubbed.  I don’t care for some men or people going too fast as I get to know them.  I don’t like dogs coming too close and alert bark at animals I see outside.  Otherwise, I’m sure I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love, training, and attention. • MEDICAL:  I'm current on vaccinations, micro-chipped and spayed. I have a congenital dropped carpus on both front legs and luxating patella on the left, but my foster didn’t even notice as I can jump and don’t have pain.  I am taking a fish oil supplement and Benadryl daily to help alleviate some bouts with dry, itchy skin.  I also have a mild heart murmur that does not require any treatment currently. I’m on an inexpensive over-the-counter joint supplement which is good for all older dogs.   I am looking for a loving home for life with a dog experienced person! My adoption fee is $299.00, & I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.  November 7, 2024, 4:18 pm

Please say hello to Chip!!🧡 We don't know much about Chip other than he's an elderly man. He's had multiple homes before he came to us😥. Chip needed a full work up when he came to us to make sure he was healthy. We did bloodwork and the necessary vaccines he needed by law and for his age. Chip🧡 is heartworm negative, and his bloodwork🩸 looked great. We have since started him on flea tick and heartworm prevention. When he came to us, he was completely matted, he's since had a full body makeover😄. Chip really needs a dental with the possibility of a full mouth extraction, but we've decided that due to his age it would be too risky to put him under anesthesia. He's eating dry food well, but we add a little water to it to soften it up and he devours it. Chip needs someone who will be patient with him. We believe he's lost some of his hearing and he can still see but we believe some things are a little blurry. Chip also would need someone who would be able to get him outside on a consistent schedule. We believe he was pee pad trained but since having him he has grasped the concept of going in the yard, but he needs to go out pretty often. Chip is a gentle old soul, and he just needs someone that will give him a warm comfortable place to live out his remaining few years of life. If you think Chip is the dog for you submit an application.

Story
Hello there!  My name is China, and I'm a 6-year-old, 10-pound female Yorkie looking for my forever home. I've been told I have the sweetest personality—you'll often find me by your side because I love being with my humans. Whether it's snuggling on the couch or going for a ride in the car (which I absolutely adore!), I'm happiest when we're together. I'm currently living with a foster dog and a cat sibling, and we all get along just fine! I've also spent time with kids aged 4 and up, and we've had a great time together. So, I'm pretty adaptable when it comes to making new friends, both furry and human.  I do have a little deformity in my front legs, but don't worry—it doesn't slow me down one bit! I'm still active and love to explore and play. I'm also working on my house training and making good progress.  I think I'd make a wonderful companion for an older couple or person looking for a loyal and affectionate friend. If you're searching for a loving pup to share your life with, I might just be the one for you! I can't wait to meet you and start our new adventure together!  Please note, we receive a large number of applications. We appreciate your patience as we complete our review processes. A personal interview, reference checks, meet and greet with pet, home visit and a solid vet history are required for adoption.  Apply for consideration to adopt at www.ruffdogrescue.org  ##2190771##

Story
Are you looking for a constant companion, little furry BFF type of dog? Then Nibbles might be your gal! Here’s the deal though – this poor, tiny (9 pound) girl was surrendered to the shelter at 10 years of age and it was immediately clear she was not always treated kindly. She came to us in pain from a dental issue but that has been fully treated and it was such a joy to see her realize she was going to be safe and cared for! Although she has become absolutely devoted to and loving towards her foster mom, she remains very scared of being picked up. She will happily follow you around the house and yard, solicit petting, belly rubs, and ear scratches, and hop into your lap whenever invited - but she does not wish to be toted under your arm; that is simply not a place where she feels safe. She is non-reactive (and quite frankly apathetic) towards adult dogs and is likely to feel the same way about cats. She is fine with kids who have the maturity and impulse control to respect her boundaries. She came to us pee pad trained (and will consistently use them) and her foster mom is looking for someone who is comfortable with that, as she’s a bit of a princess when it comes to damp grass or less than ideal temperatures. We are looking for a household where she can know nothing but love, kindness and compassion during her golden years; she would like a fenced yard or an adopter who is willing to very patiently continue working through her fear of being harnessed. Thank you for your interest in one of our furry kids! Adopting from Releash Atlanta means you will adopt a dog that has been fully vaccinated, spayed/neutered, microchipped and medically cleared!! While we make our best guesses, we often don’t know what breeds our kiddos are made of. We cannot guarantee our guesses will always be right but CAN guarantee they are 100% good dogs! Our adoption fee is $350. **We only adopt to families in/around Atlanta, Ga (about a 1-2 hour perimeter)** If you are interested in any of our dogs, please visit https://releashatlanta.com/adoptable-dogs.php to either view more of their profile or to apply to adopt! Story
✅️Currently located in South Korea✅️ ✈️ Available to fly to ATL✈️ Meet QQ🧡 QQ was rescued from an illegal breeding facility in South Korea, where she lived in a cramped cage with accumulated waste and fur beneath, making standing painful and emitting strong ammonia fumes. She is now adapting to everyday life and is expected to become healthier and happier soon! ** Health Status - Scaling done, two teeth extracted - Originally had poor skin condition leading to severe grooming and medicated baths; currently much improved and non-contagious. - Due to periodontitis, her gums have receded, causing instability in her teeth. This prevents her from eating hard food, and she requires soft kibble and snacks. - Has an eye injury but no vision impairment. * Interaction with People: Loves people but initially fears strangers, especially men. Takes time to warm up, but once comfortable, she follows around, wags her tail, and likes to be by your side. * Interaction with Dogs: Shows little interest in other dogs and prefers spending time alone. * Interaction with Cats: Indifferent; passes by without much notice. * Separation Anxiety: Minimal; manages well alone and spends most of the time sleeping when the family is out. * Potty Training: She prefers indoor potty training and is proficient with using pads. She occasionally confuses blankets with her potty spot but is improving. She also does well with outdoor potty training during walks. * Hygiene: She cooperates well during baths. Nail trimming can be frightening and cause some fuss, but she stays calm. She is also good with brushing and drying. * Walking: Ignores other animals, walks without pulling, and matches the walker's pace. * Car Sickness: Travels well in the car without any signs of motion sickness. * Very gentle with no biting, even when touched or petted by strangers. 💙 Foster's Instagram: @p.ssshhj
