Available for adoption VIPRescue.org Dog Name: Marley / Holiday Dob: 4-6-2021 Breed: Yorkie/Pomeranian Mix - we think he looks like a NorwichTerrier Weight: 9 lbs Gender: Male House Trained: yes, as long as he is let out often Location: Holiday FL Good with other dogs: Yes Good with kids: Yes, 12+ Color: Brown ******Please make sure to read the entire bio of the pet you’re interested in before applying to adopt to make sure you meet the pet's needs. PLEASE NOTE: LOOK OVER YOUR APPLICATION BEFORE HITTING SUBMIT, AS INCOMPLETE APPLICATIONS WILL BE IMMEDIATELY CLOSED. Who is ready?? Marley is ready!!! Are you ready for Marley?? This beautiful little stud muffin is looking for a furever home. He is thought to be around 5 years old and weighs almost 9 pounds. We were told he is a Yorkie / Pomeranian mix. He’s not a hypoallergenic dog, he does shed and will also need to be groomed about every 6 - 8 weeks so please keep that in mind with your budget! He was surrendered to us from a back yard breeder, and his stud days are now over and he is looking forward to the good life of rest, relaxation and to learn what being a family dog is all about. ❤️🐾 Marley can be a bit shy at first meet, but when he knows he is safe he will seek attention. He hasn’t met a human that he doesn’t like and a lap that he doesn’t accept. He’s learning leash walking and working on house manners. He is a quick study and learning new things every day with the foster dogs in his foster home. He’s a little nervous around other dogs, but very curious, so a slow introduction will be needed if you have other pets in your home. We fell he would do best as your one and only. A few more things we have learned about Marley is he loves to sleep in the human bed as well as make himself comfortable on the human couch for naps and activity surveillance. He does not appear to know what dogs beds are for and he watches the other dogs in the foster home with curiosity when they play with toys, but so far has not played with the dogs or the toys. The ideal home would be a quiet adult home with humans that are home more often than not. If you have a dog at home, similar size and age, an adult to senior calm dog would be best, he would prefer to be your one and only. Loud noises and fast moves by human or another dog startle him. If you have children at home, they should be at least 12+ and understand the needs of Marley. An adult only home will be given preference. Marley has been brought current with his vaccinations, neutered, Yeah! microchipped and received a much needed dental and is also on monthly flea and heartworm prevention. When considering adoption, please keep in mind that he will need to be groomed, the estimated costs are $60 to $100 per groom every 6-8 weeks Do you have an open lap? Do you have the patience for him to adjust to new surroundings? Do you think this is the Pup for you? If so, please visit our website viprescue.org to submit an application. Adoption Requirements: You must be a Florida resident, and be at least 25 years of age to adopt. To qualify for adoption, all of the pets in your home must be spayed or neutered, be current on all vaccines, preventatives, and have received consistent veterinary care. If you’ve had more than one Vet in the past 3 years, please provide all the names and numbers for each vet. This breed typically lives 15-18 years, so please keep that lifespan in mind, as your age should be appropriate for the pet's estimated lifespan. All of us at VIP Rescue are Volunteers, with families, jobs and pets of our own, so please be kind and patient. We select the most fitting application for the dog, not necessarily the timeliest adoption application. Please make sure to read the entire bio of the pet you’re interested in before applying to adopt to make sure you meet the pet's needs. Thank you for thinking rescue. Story
Teddy has been a part of our family since around 6 weeks old. He was the runt of the litter. Teddy will be 10 yrs old this Nov. Teddy is very loving to the ones closest to him. He does bark like a protector as Yorkies do.All his records are with Banfield. Will send all vaccinations in email. He does need to be in a controlled environment. If he gets overly excited he gets seizures which since moving to Florida has not had any episodes. He was taking Phenobarbital over the past few years, but since moving to Florida and being in a controlled environment he has been off for almost 9 months. If you are familiar with Yorkies and their protective nature, he is just that and loving to his immediate owners. He has got along with specific dogs and kids but again needs to be watched else could get overly excited and cause seizures if other dogs attack or dogs/kids play too rough with him since he only weighs 5.5 pounds. The last picture is of him with other family members dogsSerious enquire only
