Story
WEIGHT: 13lbs Meet Jacksen— Now we know what you`re thinking. What is a cute little dog like Jacksen doing in a place like this? Well, Jacksen came to us as an Owner Surrender after a couple of good-sams found him roaming around and took him in. Unfortunately, Jacksen was not interested in sharing space with their other dog, so they made the decision to bring him in. For that reason, Jacksen is looking to be an only dog. He also has a couple of medical things going on, relating to his general anxiety level, but nothing unmanageable for the right person. So, if you`re looking for a little dog to be your one and only, feel free to call our adoptions desk or stop by during Browsing Hours: Wed-Sun 11-5.

Story
Looks like: Yorkie mix Male, 5 years old (estimated), 5 pounds This absolutely darling little dude is none other than Wasabi! This adorable little guy is just the whole package. He's a young lad who still needs some guidance in his next home. He'd do best in the company of another small sized dog or dogs as that seems to be where he's most comfortable. Wasabi is such a little guy and the world is such a big place that he is searching for a very mellow home where he can ease into exploring more of the big world around him. This young boy joins us from Hitchcock Road Animal Services. He was brought in as a stray and needed some further medical attention. His medical needs are being addressed and he's ready to join his forever home, could that be with you?

Story
We started caring for Leo when our relative owner passed. He has 4 foster siblings that we are also caring for. The others that you will find on this site are Princess, Coco and Marco. We want to rehome them in pairs. Leo is yorkshire, honey and gold fur, likes to chill but does have energy, toy size (about 4 lbs.), indoor dog and about 8 years old. He has been neutered and his rabies vaccine is current. He gets along well with his foster siblings. He may be best adopted with Marco who you will find in another profile. They often sleep in the same bed. Leo loves attention. He does not like to walk and is content to stay at home, inside. Leo pees and poos on a pad indoors or in the back yard. Leo always barks at cats. Leo needs dental work that adopter will need to pay for. Prospective adopter agrees to keep him in the house, except for supervised outings, and agrees to send photos of Leo. Return him to us if unable to care for him..

All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, shots current (DHPP, Bordetella and Rabies where applicable), dewormed, flea and tick treated, and microchipped.  * If you are interested in a dog, please first read the biography on the dog (keep scrolling down for the bio!) and then go to our website, www.dpsrescue.com for an application. Our adoption fees vary. Each biography will specifically list the adoption fee. This dog will be at Palo Alto Pet Food Express on Saturday, March 8th from 12-3pm or until adopted. If you would like the first opportunity to adopt, please fill out an application to be considered. Adoption Fee: $650 Meet The Strings – A Symphony of Adorable Chaos! Introducing The Strings, a lively band of 10 week old Morkie (Maltese-Yorkie) puppies ready to play their way into your heart! Rescued from a shelter without their mom, these little rockstars are tuning up for their forever homes. While we can only guess their exact parentage, we do know one thing—they’re small, spirited, and full of love! Each day follows the same rhythm: wake up at 6:30 AM for breakfast, play like wild musicians at a jam session, nap around 10 AM, have lunch at noon, and then back to rehearsing (a.k.a. playing) until another nap from 4 to 6 PM. Dinner at 6, encore playtime, and finally, bedtime at 10 PM. And yes, they are all housetrained, crate-trained, and familiar with potty pads—a true masterpiece in puppy progress! Meet The Band: Ukulele – The Gentle BalladUkulele, weighing 6.6lbs, is the laid-back love song of the group. While his siblings are composing chaos, he's happy being the soft acoustic melody, cuddling up on your lap or snoozing on your foot. He’s playful, but don’t expect any wild solos—he’s usually the first one to fall asleep, possibly dreaming of belly rubs and lullabies. Banjo – The Sweet SerenadeBanjo, weighing 7.8lbs, will steal your heart with her big, soulful eyes and adorable eye contact. She loves a good belly rub and will nuzzle right up to you like a heartfelt country tune. She’s playful but also knows when to slow things down for some quality snuggles. Mandolin – The Indie SoloistMandolin, weighing 5.4lbs, is the independent artist of the bunch—happy to play with others but just as content entertaining herself. She’s always on the move, composing her own adventures, climbing playpens, and chasing toys like a whirlwind of musical energy. Making eye contact with her? Good luck—she’s too busy writing her next hit single (or, you know, chewing on a teething toy). Fiddle – The High-Energy EncoreFiddle, weighing 6.6lbs, is pure, unfiltered rock 'n' roll. She’s the first to escape the playpen (Mandolin learned her moves from her), the first to jump on the couch, and the last one to wind down. If she were a musician, she’d be the one crowd-surfing. She loves attention, hates being bored, and will make sure you know it! Living with Puppies – The Greatest Hit You'll Ever Raise Raising a puppy is like learning a new instrument—at first, it’s all noise, but with patience and practice, it turns into beautiful music! These little ones are teething (so expect some impromptu drum solos on your shoes), love to wrestle (puppy sumo matches happen daily), and are still mastering their training. They’re great with other dogs and will thrive in homes that continue their socialization, training, and, of course, endless love. So, are you ready to add some music to your life? These adorable Morkies are looking for their forever audience—adopt one today and let the love song begin! March 9, 2025, 6:10 pm

Our adoption fees vary. Each biography will specifically list the adoption fee.Adoption Fee: $750Meet CA Raisin – The Tiniest, Snuggliest, Most Curious Little Grape At just 5 lbs and 10 months old, CA Raisin is more of a pocket-sized prune than an actual raisin, but his name suits him—tiny, sweet, and best enjoyed in the coziest of settings. He’s a quiet observer, a professional lounger, and a devoted shadow to his favorite human. While he may not understand toys yet, he’s mastered the art of belly rub appreciation and has an advanced degree in ear scratch enjoyment. A Day in the Life of CA Raisin If you’re the kind of person who enjoys a structured, cozy routine, Raisin will fit right into your life! Here’s what a typical day with him looks like: 8:00 AM – Wake Up & Potty Break Raisin starts his day by heading outside for his morning potty break. He’s not exactly a morning zoomies kind of pup—he takes things slow and steady, just like his tiny legs. 8:15 AM – Breakfast Time &#239&#184&#143After doing his business, Raisin enjoys his breakfast. He’s not a picky eater, but he is a big fan of a good post-meal relaxation session. 8:30 AM – Morning Lounge Session &#239&#184&#143With a full belly, Raisin joins his foster sister for some prime relaxation time. He’s still figuring out what “toys” are for, so instead, he prefers snuggling, watching TV, or enjoying a good chew treat. 12:00 PM – Midday Walk & Sniff Session Raisin takes his time on walks—after all, the world is full of interesting smells! He walks well on a leash and prefers a slow-paced, sniff-filled stroll. No pulling, no chasing, just enjoying the fresh air. 1:00 PM – Afternoon Nap & Cuddle Time After a walk, it’s time for another nap (because being this cute is exhausting). If you’re around, he’ll happily cuddle up next to you—he’s a professional lounger, after all. 4:00 PM – Quiet Time & Following His Favorite Human Around ‍&#226&#153&#130&#239&#184&#143This is peak Velcro Dog Hour. Raisin likes to follow his human around the house, ensuring they aren’t doing anything too interesting without him. If you sit, he’ll sit. If you move, he moves. Personal space? Never heard of it. 8:00 PM – Dinner Time &#239&#184&#143Time for another delicious meal! After dinner, it’s more of what Raisin does best—relaxing. He’s not an evening zoomer; he’s more of a “let’s get comfy and unwind” kind of pup. 10:00 PM – Couch Cuddles & Bedtime Wind-Down &#239&#184&#143Raisin’s favorite time of the day: belly rubs on the couch or bed. He thrives on human attention and will gently boop you if you dare stop giving him ear scratches. 11:00 PM – Final Potty Break & Crate Training Before bed, Raisin heads out for one last potty break. Then comes the hardest part of his day—crate time. He’s still working on feeling comfortable in his crate, and he will let you know he’s not a fan. He does much better if the crate is in the bedroom where he can be near his human. (And if you let him sleep in your bed? Well, that’s his preferred arrangement!) The Evolution of a Raisin When Raisin first arrived in his foster home, he was terrified—so much so that he hid under the couch his first night. But with patience (and plenty of belly rubs), he’s blossomed into a loving, snuggly little shadow. While he’s still on the calm, lowkey side, he’s now more open to affection and loves following his human from room to room. Social Life & Doggy Manners Raisin isn’t much of a social butterfly—he doesn’t dislike other dogs, but he’s more of a watcher than a player. He currently lives with an 11-lb Maltipoo, and while they don’t play much, Raisin does like to copy his foster sibling—especially when it comes to potty training! He’s learned to use potty pads just by watching. He’s been on doggy playdates but prefers to observe from the safety of under the couch. Big, boisterous dogs? No, thank you. Perfect Home for a Tiny Raisin Raisin would love a calm, quiet home with a patient adopter who will help him continue to build confidence. He’d thrive in a work-from-home household or with someone who isn’t gone for long stretches, as he does get anxious when left alone. He would do well with another small, calm dog to help show him the ropes but would also be perfectly happy as the sole recipient of all the belly rubs. Fun Raisin Facts: No tail! But his ears are very expressive. Puppy-sized forever but has the energy of an old soul Loves booping his human when he wants attention. Will stare at the Amazon delivery guy but doesn’t bark at people or kids. Walks perfectly on a leash—no pulling, no chasing, just sniffing. If you’re looking for a tiny, quirky, cuddle-loving companion who prefers a cozy couch over a wild adventure, CA Raisin might just be your perfect match. If you think you can be his raisin to be—apply to adopt today!March 6, 2025, 11:53 am

Paris has done the hard work of raising her puppies, and now it’s her turn to find the perfect forever home! This sweet 2 year old Yorkie-Jack Russell Terrier mix is a gentle, loving companion who is blossoming more each day. Paris starts her mornings with a stroll and breakfast before settling in for a quiet day at home while her foster parent is at work. She’s adjusting to alone time and spends her afternoons napping. Once her person is home, it’s time for another walk, errands, dinner, and cuddle time before she curls up on the bed for the night. While Paris can be a little shy in new situations, she warms up quickly and wants to love everyone. She’s curious but cautious—stopping to observe the world around her, from bicycles to mirrors. She’s not a clingy Velcro dog, but she does love to snuggle on the couch when she’s in the mood. Paris is fully house-trained and a great walking buddy! She’s still learning leash manners (sometimes she zigzags to sniff all the exciting smells), but she enjoys her outings. She’s met other dogs in public and seems most interested in adult dogs her size. We recently introduced her to a friend’s dog, and she did well! With slow introductions, she could absolutely share her home with a canine companion. Like the city she’s named after, Paris is full of charm and elegance, with just the right amount of spunk. She would love to go to work with her future person—she’s quiet, well-mannered, and happy to nap the day away in an office or dog-friendly space. She’s also the perfect pup for an apartment or condo, as she doesn’t need a yard to thrive, just daily strolls and love. Paris isn’t just named after the City of Lights—she’ll light up your life with her sweet nature, loving eyes, and growing confidence. She’s learning to embrace the world one step at a time, and with a little patience and encouragement, she’ll soon be as dazzling as the Eiffel Tower at night. Are you ready to fall in love? Because Paris is always a good idea! Ready to meet Paris? She’s waiting for her happily ever after!March 9, 2025, 11:42 pm
