Story
Keone (key-oh-knee) his DOB is 12/12/2011, he will be 13 years old this December. I adopted him from a friend when he was 8 weeks old. His mom was a pure bred Yorkie and his dad was a little black Chihuahua. Keone loves going on walks, but does not require them. He is house trained and has never ran away. He is obedient, will come to you and can be silenced when you say his name to correct him. He is very low maintenance, he just needs a haircut a few times a year. He loves playing catch and tug of war, but might not give you back the toy once he has it. He is very healthy for a senior dog, he can still jump high and run fast with no issues. He is hypoallergenic due to his Yorkie hair so he does not shed. He loves going on hikes off leash. I’ve had many great adventures with Keone, he’s been a great friend to me. He loves to cuddle and take showers. He gets excited and barks when visitors come but might get anxious when big dogs are around. He gets a long with small dogs, however.

Story
All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, shots current (DHPP, Bordetella and Rabies where applicable), dewormed, flea and tick treated, and microchipped.  * If you are interested in a dog, please first read the biography on the dog (keep scrolling down for the bio!) and then go to our website, www.dpsrescue.com for an application. Our adoption fees vary. Each biography will specifically list the adoption fee. This dog will be at Palo Alto Pet Food Express on Saturday, November 2nd from 12-3pm or until adopted. If you would like the first opportunity to adopt, please fill out an application to be considered.   Adoption Fee: $700    The Ben & Jerry puppies are a litter of 3 month old Chorkie (Chihuahua x Yorkie) mixes bringing scoops of sweetness and puppy kisses to a scoop shop near you! These puppies were rescued from a yard by a good citizen. They asked us to step in and we took the litter into our rescue, promising to find them amazing forever homes. This litter is 2 boys. We expect them to remain small once they reach adulthood (kiddie scoops)! If you’re ready to find your new favorite flavor of love, come try out some of our Ben & Jerry flavors today!      Chunky Monkey (M): Chunky Monkey is a little hunk who lives up to his sweet name. As the biggest of the bunch, you’d think he would lead the pack, but he’s totally happy to sit back and watch the action happen. Monkey’s ears have a personality of their own - sometimes they’re up, sometimes down, and sometimes they flop around somewhere in the middle. Monkey is sweet as pie and always ready for a romp, whether that’s with a toy or directly into your lap for a long cuddle session. Chunky Monkey knows he’s a fan favorite flavor and he can’t wait to serve you up some kisses!  Dublin Mudslide (M): Dublin Mudslide is a true gentleman who will win you over with his charm and personality. He prefers to sit back and scope out the scene as he plans his strategy. He’s the master of looking before you leap… but once he’s ready he jumps in and takes over the game like it was his plan from the start. Mudslide is a total charmer who loves cuddling the hours away. He places a paw on your chest and you are helpless to resist his charm. Though he isn’t one of the most popular flavors, he will be the family favorite from the second you meet him. Come get a hunk of our chocolatey Dublin Mudslide!     The Ben & Jerry puppies start their morning around 8 AM tumbling out of their pen and crowding the food bowl for breakfast. They all LOVE food and are highly motivated by snacks. Once they’ve eaten, they hit the yard for a quick potty break before starting their morning wrestling session with the foster siblings. During the day they live out the best puppy cycle: zoomies, wrestling, cuddles, naps, and treats. They love piling on top of each other when they’re ready for naps and it is absolutely adorable. They have dinner around 6 and then spend their evenings romping around the house getting out their zoomies. Once they start to unwind from the day, they soak up all the cuddles they can as they give out sweet puppy kisses. They drift off to dreamland around 11 PM. Life is sweet for these pups!   The Ben & Jerry puppies have been well socialized with dogs of all sizes in their foster home. They love meeting new people and thrive in social situations. Interested homes should be prepared to continue the training and socialization that their foster homes have started with them. These snuggly puppies are ready to make the most of life with you! Even when the weather gets cooler, it’s always a good time for a scoop of ice cream. Come on down and grab a cone of Ben & Jerrys today!      The Ben & Jerry puppies are only options for homes who have owned a dog of their own in the last 5 years. Kids in the home should be over the age of 8.November 2, 2024, 6:03 pm

Story
How could this delicate little nugget have been a stray!?!? She has been neglected for some time and is settling into the good life, learning that she is safe and sound. She is kind, quiet, mellow and a gentle old soul. Sophie is good with dogs, probably cats, and gentle teenagers. She truly is a kind soul! We think that she's 14 years old and she weighs a whopping 5 lbs. Our vet has done extensive tests on our little nugget and, other than minor changes to her liver, she is healthier than first thought! She will need to take a liver supplement for the foreseeable future, and we will have her spayed once she's gained a little weight. Sophie deserves the world. We know that she will be a wonderfully loyal lap dog and she will do well in most any mellow home.

Story
Please meet Augie. He is such a calm, sweet guy. He NEEDS a home. He is so gentle that he just doesn't do well in a rescue situation. It can be a foster home or a forever home. But a home he needs! He has gained some weight in rescue but with regular walks and outings, I am sure he will get back to a good weight. He does well with other dogs but he prefers to just stay out of trouble and clear of hoopla! I just know he would LOVE to have someone to spend time with him. Doesn't need much...just some love. If you think Augie might work in your life, please text your interest to be sent on online application form or print your own from the Forms section at wrenyorkierescue.org as well as reading the “how it works” section to understand the Rescue process. Again, even a foster would be wonderful! As a foster, if you live near the rescue, we will supply his food. Thanks for considering sweet Augie.

Story
SEPT 2024: Miss Tazzie is a very affectionate & companionable girl who likes to keep her person in sight at all times-i.e. she will follow whenever her person moves into another room or outside, and becomes quite vocal when left behind; also VERY vocal with pleasure at her person’s return, only quieting down once her person enters the home, sits down & says SHUSH. For this reason TAZ needs a detached home with yards, rather than an apartment building, and preferably another canine housemate to play with; If you can provide a suitable environment for a dog with vocal separation anxiety, please revisit Wrenyorkierescue.org & read the “how it works” section to understand the Rescue process, or text the number below to request a fill-in-online application if you don’t have a printer.
