Story
Luna and Gracie were purchased directly from their vet/breeder in 2015 They are liter mates. I did not spay them because I had dreams of having puppies, but never felt comfortable enough to follow through. The sisters have always had a bit of sibling rivalry but we learned to ignore them when they fought and eventually it became something that happened only a few times a year. Recently, the aggression has become daily. I don't know why it has escalated. My daughter is off to college and I work full time. The routines have been the same. However, the dogs have begun fighting almost every single time I let them go outside. One dog will be waiting at the sliding glass door while I unlock it. When the second dog arrives, the first one begins to fight. The fighting is also becoming more vicious - drawing blood. I think the best thing is to find a home for Luna. She is a lap dog and will be great company to someone who is home often. NO cats and no small children.

Story
Kenny is an adorable one-year-old Morkie (Maltese/yorkie mix), weighing in at under five pounds—the perfect tiny companion! This little guy is full of love and personality. He adores playing with toys and gets along wonderfully with dogs and cats alike. Kenny is a true Velcro pup! He will follow you everywhere and wants to be by your side at all times. He doesn’t like to be left alone, so he would do best in a home where someone is around often. He enjoys his plush bed, sleeps in his crate at night, but would happily snuggle in yours if allowed! Due to his small size, we escort him outside for potty breaks. He’s also the perfect travel buddy. He does great in the car and enjoys road trips! Whether you’re looking for a lap dog or an adventure companion, Kenny is the best of both worlds. Kenny is neutered (monorchid inguinal neuter), microchipped, up to date on vaccines, and recently had a dental cleaning and ear exam. He is currently healing from his procedure and is ready to find his forever home! His adoption fee is $2,300. It covers his monorchid inguinal neuter due to a retained testicle which included additional anesthesia time. He also had a dental cleaning and had his ears examined. He will go home with a clean bill of health. Located in Hesperia, CA. We offer out-of-state adoptions and can arrange transportation to your location so long as it is covered by the adopter.

Story
We adopted Juju in June of 2023 when he was 3-4 years old. We jokingly call him a “jumbo yorkie” as he weighs about 13lbs. He loves giving kisses and absolutely adores young children. He loves playing catch and running around the yard. He has difficulty being in his crate and is not potty trained but not to lack of training. Unfortunately, we have to move over seas and believe the trip would be too rough for him and think it’s best for his well being we find him a home where he has a lot of attention, love and patience.

Story
We have a transport where we will be personally taking our dogs home leaving on 3/14/25 to NorCal and OR. Surrounding states will be added to our route if needed ☺️ We would love to add Avery to our trip for the right home 💕 Meet our sweet girl Avery ❤️ She turns 3 on 5/15/25. She is a purebred yorkie. She weighs right at the 13 lb mark. Yes, she is full grown. My vet isn't concerned with her weight, and feels she is just a very healthy, solid girl who holds her weight very well ☺️ She is spayed, current on her vaccines, microchipped, had a dental cleaning done, and had an overall great wellness exam with our vet who has cleared her to find a home all her own ❤️ She is house trained, and will go outside every few hours when asked to if she needs to. She is great about holding her bladder throughout the night, and won't have any accidents during the day as long as you have a good schedule for her, as she depends on you to let her outside. She is crate trained, and currently sleeps very happily in her crate at night. She has free roam of our entire home during the day and will lounge at our feet, or in a bed all her own near by ❤️ She has slept in a bed in our room at night, and was also happy with that arrangement so no matter where you decide to have her sleep (even if that's in bed with you) she will be just fine!! She is doing very well with leash training, and really enjoys her walks when she can get them. She is naturally social and loves to be a part of every single thing she possibly can be a part of. The world has been a beautiful place for her mind to explore, so she takes everything in every chance she gets which makes walks very enjoyable with her ❤️ She is wonderful with cats and dogs alike. She will occasionally play with them, whether with other toys, or playful wrestling. She is not a high energy dog at all, but can definitely keep up with a good play session ❤️ She has amazing house manners, and is very respectful of everything in the home. She is very trustworthy, and can be left unattended without the worry of something being chewed on. Now, with that said she is a foodie at heart, so just make sure what's left unattended doesn't include food 😅 and you'll be just fine 🙃 She is not a barker, but will alert you of unfamiliar noises from time to time. She listens very well and will always come when called if you don't need her investigating anything unnecessary that you already have handled. She is a smart girl, and loves when she makes you happy so listening is definitely a strong trait of hers ❤️ She is wonderful on road trips, and will either gaze out of the window, or nap in her car seat. You'll never have to leave her behind when vacationing as she would always be more than thrilled to be a part of every single mile driven with you by her side enjoying every moment along the way 😊 She is phenomenal during her spa days, and her little body sways in excitement when she realizes our small road trip leads to her favorite groomer 🙂 She is the joy your life needs, and the love your heart deserves so don't go one more moment without adding this sweet soul to your home ❤️❤️❤️❤️ Adoption fee is on our website at the bottom of Avery’s adoption listing at https://www.breadoflifek9refuge.org/post/avery-1 It covers her spay, vaccines, microchip/registration, dental cleaning and the costs involved in that (additional anesthesia time, and antibiotics given to aid in both her spay and dental cleaning,) her exam with our vet, the care associated in the time she has been here with us, her grooming costs, and her training we have personally done with her 💕

Story
Sweet little Mia is an adorable and loving companion! She is a 3.5-year-old, 12 pound, soft and curly, gold colored, Yorkie terrier/Shih Tzu mix ?. With her gentle nature and sweet disposition, she’s sure to bring a lot of joy to her forever home. Her prior circumstances (She was surrendered by her family) make it even more important for her to find a loving family who can help her feel safe and cherished. If you’re considering adopting her, be ready to provide plenty of patience and affection as she adjusts to her new environment. Her knowledge of commands like Sit, Stay, and Down shows she's eager to learn and bond with her new family. It’s great that she’s already spayed, microchipped and vaccinated—these steps are essential for her health and safety. Remember that each dog has unique needs, so taking the time to help Mia practice walking on a leash and getting more comfortable in the car will further enhance her confidence. If you’re interested in adopting this sweet girl, don’t hesitate to reach out to AFC for more details. She deserves a loving home where she can flourish! Here is a list of things that should help us answer you in a more timely manner. 1. When you apply please always use the same email address. If we need to look something up later and you used a different email we are often not able to find it. 2. Adopt a Pet and Petfinders ask you to send us an enquiry. This always delays our response. (Why) a. Our biographies are always very detailed. Therefore sending an enquiry asking us to repeat what it says in the biography causes a lot more work and delays our response. b. We are a small non-profit and do not always have the help to answer as many enquiries as we get. c. Again our Biographies are very detailed and if you just click the link near the bottom of their bio you can fill out an application which we will respond to. 3. For the AFC website (scroll down to the bio at the bottom it says (apply to adopt today- click that link) www.animalfriendsconnect.org 4. For Petfinders ( scroll down to the biography then click the adoption link) http://animalfriendsconnect.org/adoption-application-dogs/ 5. For Adopt a Pet (scroll way down past “Ask about me”) you will see the biography and underneath that will be the adoption questionnaire link.
