I’m Birdie! I’m approximately 4 months old. My Mom is a Yorkie and my dad is a blonde Chiweenie. I’m unique in my look, and right now my foster Mom says I look like a mini golden retriever. I’m soft as angels hair and foster Mom thinks I’m so beautiful with the sweetest eyes! I’m very affectionate and love to give kisses. My favorite thing to do is play with my siblings and snuggle with humans!! I am extremely smart and learn quickly. I’m the only girl in my litter but I can run with the boys and hold my own! I survived parvo with two of my three siblings. I’m a fighter and am healthy as can be now! My ideal home would be with no small children as I’m a small girl at 5.5 pounds. I will probably be around 16-17 pounds when I’m done growing up (give or take) I’m a smarty pants and already know “sit” and I use pee pee pads to do my business. I respond to my name and love to run and play with toys and my siblings. I am a puppy so you must be committed to my training and promise to love me forever even when I do puppy things that humans don’t like. How could this delicate little nugget have been a stray!?!? She has been neglected for some time and is settling into the good life, learning that she is safe and sound. She is kind, quiet, mellow and a gentle old soul. Sophie is good with dogs, probably cats, and gentle teenagers. She truly is a kind soul! We think that she's 14 years old and she weighs a whopping 5 lbs. Our vet has done extensive tests on our little nugget and, other than minor changes to her liver, she is healthier than first thought! She will need to take a liver supplement for the foreseeable future, and we will have her spayed once she's gained a little weight. Sophie deserves the world. We know that she will be a wonderfully loyal lap dog and she will do well in most any mellow home.

We think she is a Maltese / Doxie mix. She is very sweet and loving. She may take some time getting used to a new place. Once you are her person and she trusts you, she will always be with you. She loves all the cuddles and closeness she can get. Zena loves sleeping on your bed at night. She will try to be up by your head, you just must be persistent about where she needs to be. She does pretty good with going outside to potty. Taking her outside every little bit will help with that. She does know how to use a doggy door. She would do great as the only dog due to she wants all the attention. She does like to be around other dogs though so one dog might be a good thing to give her a playmate. Best to be a dog that is not going to fight for dominance because when she is scared, she will growl at them and then the other dog that is dominant will growl back and they both won’t back down. When new people come around, she might be timid around them but slowly come around. She will make a wonderful companion for someone out there.
