All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, shots current (DHPP, Bordetella and Rabies where applicable), dewormed, flea and tick treated, and microchipped.  * If you are interested in a dog, please first read the biography on the dog (keep scrolling down for the bio!) and then go to our website, www.dpsrescue.com for an application. Our adoption fees vary. Each biography will specifically list the adoption fee. This dog will be at Palo Alto Pet Food Express on Saturday, January 25th from 12-3pm or until adopted. If you would like the first opportunity to adopt, please fill out an application to be considered.     Adoption Fee: $650   Spaghetti is a 2 year old Yorkie x Chihuahua (Chorkie) mix who is twirling up forkfuls of cuteness for his forever home! Spaghetti was rescued from the shelter with a few of his culinary companions. We took one look at his puppy dog eyes and knew this little man had to come with us. Spaghetti hit the scene and our lives haven’t been the same since! This little man weighs 11 pounds and we promise at least 20% of that is his big Dumbo ears! Come and order up a delicious plate of Spaghetti today!       Spaghetti is a handsome little gentleman who is ready to take the world by storm with his humans at his side! He is totally Mr. Personality and boy does he know how to work those puppy dog eyes to get all the treats he could ever want! It also doesn’t help that he has adorable Dumbo ears and a multicolored little wet nose that is constantly wiggling with excitement. Spaghetti also loves his playtime, and he has an ever-growing collection of plush toys he would love to continue in his forever home. Another collection he has? His bowties! He is a total dapper dan! He’s always down for an adventure even though he has little legs. Don’t let that fool you: he can hop up and down the trails and local landmarks with the big dogs! At the end of the day, when Spaghetti has gotten his fill of excitement, he is ready to curl up in a ball under your blankets and snooze the night away. He’s basically a perfect pup in a portable little body, so he will be able to join you on trips to the coffee shop for pup cups or on holidays where you spoil him like he deserves!  Spaghetti wakes up around 7 AM and heads out on a morning walk before everyone starts getting ready for the day. He eats breakfast before he settles in to play with his toys for a few hours. He naps for the rest of the morning until he heads into the yard to stretch his legs at lunchtime. Once everyone comes home from work, he heads out on another walk before enjoying dinner around 6 PM. In the evening, he hangs out on the couch getting all the cuddles until he heads off to bed.  Spaghetti has previously lived with dogs of varying ages and sizes. He loves his canine pals and would be a fabulous companion pup. Spaghetti can make even the strongest #TeamCat voice move over to the dog side with his effortless charm and personality. He is house trained and crate trained. The total package! If you’re ready for a gourmet addition to your family, adopt Spaghetti!      Spaghetti is an option for any home, regardless of prior dog owning experience. Kids should be over the age of 5.January 25, 2025, 12:25 am

He has a non-shedding coat that makes him an option for those with allergies, and he will require regular grooming. When our volunteer first met Smudge at the shelter, he didn't want to come out of his crate. The whole world was scary to him! We took a chance on him and brought him to our Safehouse where he started taking treats and allowing small pets.  Off to foster he went, and he blossomed! Smudge has been in two foster homes, both of which have dogs of their own, and he has loved making new doggy friends and playing with them. The confidence of his foster siblings has helped him see that people are good, and he became very comfortable with both his foster moms in a short time. Smudge loves to play but also loves to cuddle! Smudge walks well on a leash with a polite little trot. He appears to be house-trained; he utilizes a doggy door regularly and is also familiar with potty pads. He's a quiet little fellow who rarely barks. He is low-to-medium energy, in that he enjoys playtime and walkies, but doesn't require a ton of exercise and is perfectly happy to lounge on the couch with his foster family. In his current foster home, he sleeps through the night in bed with foster mama so he can get some cuddle time in. Due to his timid nature, Smudge is best suited to a home with no small children. His ideal home will have another dog that he can play with and learn from. Smudge is only an option for a home that has owned a dog in the last 5-6 years. Prior shy dog experience is a huge plus. The energy of smaller children would likely overwhelm him; he's best suited to a quieter home with kids 10+.January 29, 2025, 1:55 am

Fireworks, confetti, and two tiny party animals ready to ring in every day like it’s a celebration—introducing Fire Cracker and Confetti, (2) 12 week old Yorkie mixes with personalities as big as a midnight countdown! These pint-sized pups came to the rescue just days after birth, alongside their devoted mama, Auld Lange Syne (a mere 5 lbs. herself!). While we don’t know who their dad was, one thing is clear—he must have been just as tiny because these two are staying adorably small.   A Day in the Life of the New Year’s Puppies Just like any good New Year’s Eve bash, their schedule is packed—but instead of champagne and countdowns, it’s all about play, food, and naps. Mornings start when they feel like it (because what’s a little snooze button action?), followed by potty time and a delicious breakfast. The rest of the day is a joyful repeat of play, eat, nap—celebrating life one tail wag at a time. Their evenings wind down with dinner around 6 PM, more puppy shenanigans, and a final bedtime at 11 PM—just in time to dream of their next big adventure.       Meet the Party Pups!   Fire Cracker – The bigger of the two and full of spark! He’s the life of the party, running the show like a tiny drill sergeant with a wagging tail. Always first to wake up, first to stake his claim on your lap, and first to grab your attention. If there’s fun to be had, Fire Cracker is leading the charge!   Confetti – Just like the festive burst of her namesake, this little girl is a sprinkle of sweetness and excitement. A near twin to her mama, Confetti is as smart as she is adventurous, quickly catching on to new tricks and ready to explore. She’s eager to learn and loves a challenge, especially if treats are involved!   Puppy Party Must-Haves!   These two may be tiny (just under 3 lbs.), but their energy is as big as Times Square on New Year’s Eve! Because of their small size, they need access to food day and night. They enjoy wet food three times a day, with kibble available 24/7. They’re already puppy pad pros and starting to learn the art of outdoor potty breaks. With treats as their motivation, training them will be as easy as counting down from ten! Plus, they’re entering their teething phase, so chew toys are a must—because no one wants their favorite shoes mistaken for a noisemaker. Are you ready to bring home a little New Year’s magic? Fire Cracker and Confetti are waiting to fill your days with joy, laughter, and the best kind of midnight cuddles. Let’s start this new year with puppy kisses and wagging tails—because every day is worth celebrating when you have a Yorkie mix by your side!We can only consider homes who have had a dog in the last 5 years as we believe our puppies need the most experienced homes to grow and be well rounded adults. Story
Sirty is 9 years old. He gets along with my three and five year-old grandchildren. He has been around other dogs. He has never bitten anybody or attacked anybody. He likes to bark at the mailman and go on walks. He has itchy skin, so I bathe him often and he takes apoquil, for skin itching. We have had him since he was five weeks old and I love him very much. My spouse has respiratory difficulties now and the dog makes them worse so we need to rehome him. He is a loving lap dog

Story
We started caring for Coco when our relative owner became ill. We are now looking for a good home for him. He has 4 foster siblings that we are also caring for. The others that you will find on this site are Princess, Marco and Leo. We want to rehome them in pairs. Coco is yorkshire terrier breed, energetic, toy size (about 6 to 7 lbs.), indoor dog and about 7 years old. His rabies vaccine is current. Coco is neutered. Coco gets along well with his foster siblings. He may be best adopted with Princess who you will find in another profile. Coco loves attention. He likes to have his chest rubbed. He gets very excited when getting ready to go out for a walk. Coco pees and poos on a pad indoors, in the back yard, or during walks. Coco needs dental work that adopter will need to pay for. Prospective adopter agrees to keep him in the house, except for supervised outings, and agrees to send to us photos of Coco. Return him to us if unable to care for him.
