Story
Well first of all I work a lot, so because of my recent work schedule change,it changed it for the worst, I thought it would be a good idea to get my first dog a friend, so she wouldn’t spend so much time alone. So I acquired Lulu from a co-worker. I soon realized that I would not be able to take care of two dogs with my current work schedule. And here I am now.

Story
Meet Maya Blue!   This 5 lb, 8-year-old Yorkie mix is a sassy little soul who came to us from Contra Costa Animal Services. We can’t wait to share her journey with you!   &#226&#156&#168 It’s Maya’s world, and she occasionally lets us in. She thrives in her familiar spaces and is a little spicy when it comes to human interaction. Not a fan of most touches, she’ll show her sass with alligator rolls and playful hops if picked up. But don’t worry—her “bites” are toothless and gentle!   Maya loves to explore (sometimes in circles), nap, and enjoy her meals. When she does allow you in, she’ll give you those sweet, brief kisses and the occasional ear rub.   She’s not a fan of crates and prefers her own cozy enclosed space at night. While she uses potty pads when needed, she’s still learning her potty training, especially outside her comfort zone.   Due to her aversion to being touched, Maya would do best in a quiet home without children. She’s not keen on harnesses either, so outdoor adventures will need to wait until she’s more comfortable.   Stay tuned for updates as Maya Blue gets closer to finding her forever home. She may be a little spicy, but she’s got a heart of gold just waiting to shine!   #AdoptMayaBlue#YorkieMix#RescueDog#ComingSoon#SpicyButSweet We are on all social media at @umbrellaofhope and we invite you to follow us and share which helps more people see and adopt our pets.  To help our ALL VOLUNTEER team rescue more senior, special needs, medically needy and hospice animals (and a few 'typical' ones along the way, please consider making a tax-deductible (TAX ID 45-4103375) donation online at www.paypal.me/UOH or Venmo @umbrellaof-hoperescue or Zelle beourpet@gmail.com.   You can also buy tees, tanks. sweatshirts, hats and bandannas where all proceeds benefit our animals https://ruff-life-rescue-wear.myshopify.com/collections/umbrella-of-hope We also have an Etsy store where the merchandise is made by volunteers and supporters, changes regularly and 100% of the proceeds benefit our medical fund https://www.etsy.com/shop/Umbrellaofhope Amazon Wish List tinyurl.com/pineapplewish  November 6, 2024, 3:48 pm

Story
Bonded pair- Two little ladies we believe are Yorkie Terrier and possibly Chihuahua or even Maltese and something else scruffy fluffy?! They are a lower shed mix of some sort of adorable! NAME:ThelmaSTATS:Female, Yorkie Terrier, 2 years, 10 lbs.TEMPERAMENT:Shy at first and warms up.Playful, but not overly so.Needs to be WITH ANOTHER dogBonded pairSKILLSDoing great with potty training.Crate trained.Unknown with very young children. Would recommend gentle kids over 7 who can be patient. Good with dogs.Good with cats.SKILLSDoing great with potty training.Crate trained.Good with dogs.Likes walks, but not great for hiking.Good with cats but does chase them if runningMORE ABOUT ME:Likes belly rubs.Couch cuddler.Likes walks.Likes playing with other dogs.Suggest training (basic manners).Wants to please and be by her people, easy to redirect once she trusts you. ONE LAST THING:Thelma is a little more independent at times. She likes to cuddle with you on the couch, Sleep in bed with you and loves her walks. If you can not find her in the house, look in the backyard. She likes to Explore and protect her surroundings from squirrels and cats. She is often looking for her sister Louise to play with or snuggle with. She likes to hang out in the office when you work from home. Thelma and Louise like to do zoomies and play together.Thelma loves her walks can be a little reactive to other dogs/people at first but this has improved a lot. They will need time to feel at home and decompress in a new environment. From her behavior, we think she was left in the yard as you really need to make sure she has potty breaks and reward her for doing right. If you miss her cues, she will go inside.Thelma and Louise were left behind when their owner moved away. A nice Rescue lady in Stockton took them in when they saw the owner never came back for them. Sounds like they lived most of their lives in the backyard. Now they are pampered little princesses.January 18, 2025, 9:49 pm

Story
Meet Poppy, the sweet little pup looking for a loving forever home! At just 1 year old and weighing in at a tiny 7 pounds, she’s a charming mix of Maltese, Yorkie, and Chihuahua. Rescued from the streets alongside her mother, Gigi?, Poppy is ready to leave her past behind and find her happily ever after. Poppy has a gentle and shy demeanor, making her the perfect companion for a calm and nurturing household. Despite her timid nature, she is incredibly loving and eager to bond with her new family. She gets along well with other dogs and would thrive in a home with a playful canine buddy to help her come out of her shell. While she may need a bit of housetraining, Poppy is quickly adapting to the routine at the sanctuary. She responds well to the command “go potty” and is learning to do her business outside. Poppy may also benefit from some leash training, but her small size makes her easy to carry in a pouch or push along in a stroller—perfect for outings! She will require regular grooming and needs to be groomed at this time. Currently vaccinated and microchipped, Poppy is scheduled to be spayed soon. She’s all set to become your loving companion! If you’re ready to open your heart and home to this precious girl, don’t hesitate to reach out. Poppy is waiting to bring joy and love into your life! Story
Meet Emory and Emmy, ( nick named EM & EM) this adorable duo that will steal your heart! At just 13 weeks old and weighing in at 8 pounds, we were told that they are Maltese Poodle Shih Tzu mix puppies. They are full of personality and charm. Emmy is the social butterfly, always eager to meet new people, while Emory tends to follow his sister's lead, forming a sweet bond with her. These playful pups are filled with energy and love to have fun, so be prepared for lots of playtime and cuddles! Since they are still young, they will need guidance with house training, and it’s important that someone is home to help them learn. They will also need leash training when they are ready to venture outside safely. Emmy and Emory are scheduled to be spayed and neutered soon, but we’re eager to find their forever home now. They are microchipped, vaccinated (with a rabies vaccine due at four months), dewormed, and flea treated. Regular professional grooming will be necessary to keep their beautiful coats looking their best. Homes with children eight years and older. Are you ready to welcome the joy and love that only the pitter patter of puppy paws can bring? Don’t wait—apply today and let these two adorable pups become a cherished part of your family! 🐾❤️ OFFICEIf you are interested in this dog or would like more information please send me an Adoption QuestionnaireThank youAdoption Fees For Dogs Start At $ 400- 500 Medium & Large Mixed Breed Adult Dogs: $400 plus Medium & Large Pure Breed Adult Dogs or Puppies: $450.00 plus Medium & Large Mixed Breed Puppies: $400 plus Small Mixed Breeds (Puppies & Adults): $450 plus Purebred & Designer Dogs (Puppies & Adults): $500 plus (Fees subject to change) Adopt Today!
