Story
We were given Peanut at the onset of covid. She is a loyal dog and likes to be in close proximity to her owner. She barks like a big dog with her 5 lb self. She spends most days chilling in her bed. She doesn't do well on long walks and likes to be carried.

Story
This sweet, resilient little dog deserves a loving home after his difficult start. Despite being abandoned in a dumpster, he's shown his strength by surviving and being rescued by the police department. At 8 to 10 years old, this little guy has had a rough life, but he's in stable health now and ready for a fresh start.Although he had his teeth pulled due to poor dental health, he doesn't have any other significant medical issues. His adoption fee of $250 covers his neutering, vaccinations, and the microchip that will ensure he is safe and easy to locate if ever lost. We believe he might be a tiny breed mix, possibly resembling a Yorkie or Maltese, but regardless of his exact breed, he's clearly full of sweetness. This super senior deserves a comfortable, loving environment where he can enjoy his golden years. If you're looking for a little companion with a big heart, this boy could be the perfect match. Story
Meet Maya Blue!   This 5 lb, 8-year-old Yorkie mix is a sassy little soul who came to us from Contra Costa Animal Services. We can’t wait to share her journey with you!   &#226&#156&#168 It’s Maya’s world, and she occasionally lets us in. She thrives in her familiar spaces and is a little spicy when it comes to human interaction. Not a fan of most touches, she’ll show her sass with alligator rolls and playful hops if picked up. But don’t worry—her “bites” are toothless and gentle!   Maya loves to explore (sometimes in circles), nap, and enjoy her meals. When she does allow you in, she’ll give you those sweet, brief kisses and the occasional ear rub.   She’s not a fan of crates and prefers her own cozy enclosed space at night. While she uses potty pads when needed, she’s still learning her potty training, especially outside her comfort zone.   Due to her aversion to being touched, Maya would do best in a quiet home without children. She’s not keen on harnesses either, so outdoor adventures will need to wait until she’s more comfortable.   Stay tuned for updates as Maya Blue gets closer to finding her forever home. She may be a little spicy, but she’s got a heart of gold just waiting to shine!   #AdoptMayaBlue#YorkieMix#RescueDog#ComingSoon#SpicyButSweet We are on all social media at @umbrellaofhope and we invite you to follow us and share which helps more people see and adopt our pets.  To help our ALL VOLUNTEER team rescue more senior, special needs, medically needy and hospice animals (and a few 'typical' ones along the way, please consider making a tax-deductible (TAX ID 45-4103375) donation online at www.paypal.me/UOH or Venmo @umbrellaof-hoperescue or Zelle beourpet@gmail.com.   You can also buy tees, tanks. sweatshirts, hats and bandannas where all proceeds benefit our animals https://ruff-life-rescue-wear.myshopify.com/collections/umbrella-of-hope We also have an Etsy store where the merchandise is made by volunteers and supporters, changes regularly and 100% of the proceeds benefit our medical fund https://www.etsy.com/shop/Umbrellaofhope Amazon Wish List tinyurl.com/pineapplewish  November 6, 2024, 3:48 pm

Story
How could this delicate little nugget have been a stray!?!? She has been neglected for some time and is settling into the good life, learning that she is safe and sound. She is kind, quiet, mellow and a gentle old soul. Sophie is good with dogs, probably cats, and gentle teenagers. She truly is a kind soul! We think that she's 14 years old and she weighs a whopping 5 lbs. Our vet has done extensive tests on our little nugget and, other than minor changes to her liver, she is healthier than first thought! She will need to take a liver supplement for the foreseeable future, and we will have her spayed once she's gained a little weight. Sophie deserves the world. We know that she will be a wonderfully loyal lap dog and she will do well in most any mellow home.

Story
I’m Birdie! I’m approximately 4 months old. My Mom is a Yorkie and my dad is a blonde Chiweenie. I’m unique in my look, and right now my foster Mom says I look like a mini golden retriever. I’m soft as angels hair and foster Mom thinks I’m so beautiful with the sweetest eyes! I’m very affectionate and love to give kisses. My favorite thing to do is play with my siblings and snuggle with humans!! I am extremely smart and learn quickly. I’m the only girl in my litter but I can run with the boys and hold my own! I survived parvo with two of my three siblings. I’m a fighter and am healthy as can be now! My ideal home would be with no small children as I’m a small girl at 5.5 pounds. I will probably be around 16-17 pounds when I’m done growing up (give or take) I’m a smarty pants and already know “sit” and I use pee pee pads to do my business. I respond to my name and love to run and play with toys and my siblings. I am a puppy so you must be committed to my training and promise to love me forever even when I do puppy things that humans don’t like. If you think we are a good match, please fill out an adoption application and use “Birdie” as the name and ID number. My applications will be carefully screened for the best possible fit for my new potential family and I. My $300 adoption fee includes spay, vaccines, dewormer and microchip.
