NEWBIE ALERT!!&#226&#156&#168 Meet Georgie! Sadly, this boy recently lost his owner and was surrendered to us. He’s a 12 year old - 16 lb Shorkie. He’s in great shape for his age besides two small skin tags that are paid for and scheduled to be removed next month. He’s still spunky. Loves people and is good with other animals. He does well in the house and is a super cuddly boy. He’s utd, hw neg (tested below detectable levels) and neutered.  Our adoptions are NOT on a first come first serve basis and there is no fee to apply! We never state any animal is fully House-trained. New environments, situations, families, routines, ect. can lead to accidents even with the most well trained animals.  All dogs have a $195 adoption fee which includes vet check, age appropriate shots (atleast 2 sets for puppies), dewormer, heartworm test (if over 6 months), rabies (if atleast 16 weeks) and spay/neuter! Puppies will be altered before adoption. All rescues and shelters practice pediatric spay and neuter. This is essential in our rescue efforts and it is a policy that we will stick by. All dogs over 8 weeks and 2 pounds will be altered before adoption. There are no exceptions to this rule on all healthy and adoptable dogs. We have researched and discussed in depth with multiple vets everything on pediatric spay and neuter and from a rescue stand point it must be done. Please do not ask for an extension on spay and neutering, it will NOT be granted on a healthy puppy!  Puppies/Dogs that are not available for adoption due to vetting not being complete can be reserved with an approved application and a non refundable $50 deposit. Deposits can ONLY be submitted once the rescue has been in contact on your approval and it has been requested through Wags and Whiskers. This deposit is applied to your adoption fee and the remaining $145 is due at pick up. Wags and Whiskers is an all-volunteer rescue. Please allow us time to respond to all inquires and applications! I’m looking to rehome my dog to a home where he can get the time, attention, and consistency he deserves. I am currently pregnant and also a mom of two toddlers, and I’m no longer able to meet his needs the way he requires. He is great with kids and genuinely enjoys playing with them. He is very affectionate, playful, and loves being involved with his people. He is house and potty trained, but he does have an issue with marking inside the home, which I have not been able to fully correct. He is very reactive, especially around other dogs, and would do best as the only pet in the home. He tends to bark a lot and needs someone who understands reactivity and can provide structure, patience, and continued training. He also needs a lot of attention and engagement, both mentally and physically. Despite his challenges, he is a good dog with a loving heart.

Monies is a sweet, 2-year-old Yorkie with a gentle, shy nature—at least at first. Once he feels comfortable, he warms up quickly and becomes a loyal little shadow who never leaves your side. He’s happiest simply being with his person, whether he’s lounging beside you during a quiet afternoon or exploring the yard on a mini adventure. Monies loves being part of everything you do and wants to be included in all the moments of your day. This handsome young boy has a unique coat, a charming personality, and one stunning crystal-blue eye that’s sure to steal your heart. He gets along wonderfully with other dogs, cats, and even children, despite his initial shyness. Monies will go to his new home neutered, up to date on vaccines, and dewormed. He is house trained and doesn’t need to be crated—he’s well-behaved and prefers to stay close to his people. For that reason, he’ll do best in a home where crating isn’t necessary. If you’re looking for an eye-catching little companion with a personality to match his charm, look no further—Monies is your guy. All dogs from this rescue are transported from Alabama to the Hartford, CT area and delivered in CT. Each dog will come fully vetted. Price also includes transportation and a Health Certificate as required by law. There is a 200.00 deposit required at the time of adoption to secure the transport crate.
