Story
Pending adoption We have a transport where we will be personally driving our dogs home leaving on 12/13/25 to NorCal, OR, and WA. Surrounding states will be added to our route as needed ☺️ We would love to add Henry to our trip for the right home! Henry is pure sunshine wrapped in soft curls and joy. At just a year old, this handsome Maltipoo (a Maltese and Poodle mix) weighs right around 11 pounds, perfectly full grown and in wonderful health. He’s that ideal balance of playful energy and gentle companionship — always eager to chase a toy or wag his tail for attention, but just as content curling up beside you for a quiet evening at home. From the moment he arrived, Henry brought an easy warmth to our home. His tail rarely stops wagging, and his entire body wiggles with excitement when he knows someone is about to pet him. He’s friendly with every person he meets, absolutely adores other dogs, and even gets along beautifully with cats. He’s one of those special dogs who seems to have been born knowing how to love everyone — soft, kind-hearted, and full of light. Henry came to us from a young woman who adored him but was moving from her aunt’s home to her college campus, where pets weren’t allowed. She made the incredibly selfless decision to ask us to take him in so that his next chapter would be full of the stability, care, and affection he’s always known. From day one, he’s carried that same happy, trusting spirit forward — adjusting easily, finding joy in every small thing, and proving to be an absolute dream to care for. He’s wonderfully mannered, crate trained, and fully house trained. If he needs to go out while in his crate, he’ll give a few little barks to let you know — not because he’s noisy, but because he communicates clearly and politely. Otherwise, he’s not a barker at all; he’s calm, observant, and happiest when he’s near his people. He loves car rides (he hops in ready for adventure), and he’s excellent at the groomers, standing proud like the little gentleman he is. Here, Henry has blossomed under structure, consistency, and care. He’s been introduced to basic obedience, daily leash walks, and confidence-building exercises that have made him even more well-rounded. He loves to learn and responds quickly to positive reinforcement — especially when treats are involved. (He did want us to mention that his new family should definitely have a “Henry Treat Shelf.” 😂) He’s a dog that shines in every setting — joyful, intelligent, affectionate, and endlessly loving. He’s the kind who will greet you with a wagging tail every morning and make you laugh with his silly antics every night. He’s steady, balanced, and full of heart, and he’s ready to find that forever person who will love him just as deeply as he loves in return. Adoption Fee is on our website at the bottom of his adoption listing at https://www.breadoflifek9refuge.org/post/henry-1 Henry’s adoption fee covers his neuter, core vaccines, microchip and lifetime registration, and a dental cleaning and polish (his teeth were in excellent health). It also includes his veterinary exam, which confirmed he’s in wonderful condition overall. As with all of our dogs, this adoption fee also reflects the months of care, training, and professional grooming Henry has received during his time with us — all of the love, consistency, and hands-on attention that helped him grow into the amazing, confident companion he is today. Henry’s heart is open, his tail is wagging, and his forever story is waiting to begin. 💛

Story
We have a transport where we will be personally driving our dogs home leaving on 12/13/25 to NorCal, OR, and WA. Surrounding states will be added to our route as needed ☺️ We would love to add Peanut to our trip for the right home! Peanut may be tiny, but the impression he leaves on your heart is anything but. He is a Shih Tzu–Yorkie mix with a soft, hypoallergenic coat and the most endearing personality you could hope to find in a little companion. At just under 5 pounds, he is a joyful mix of curiosity, sweetness, and snuggly affection, the kind of puppy who looks at you like you’re the very best part of his world. When you scoop him up, he holds onto you gently with his tiny paws and tucks his head into your chest, melting into you as if he was made for closeness. He loves to explore, loves to be carried, and loves every moment he gets to spend with his person. Peanut is wonderfully well-rounded—playful yet calm, confident yet incredibly gentle, outgoing yet deeply loving. He enjoys the company of other dogs and cats and will happily join in on playtime the moment it begins, though he is just as content being the only pet as long as he has toys to toss around, a warm bed to curl into, and a person who loves him. His heart is simple and sincere: as long as he has companionship, affection, and a few adventures sprinkled into life, he is perfectly content. He is crate trained and very accustomed to using his crate for nighttime sleep or daytime naps. Whether his next family uses a crate regularly or not, he transitions easily and sees it as a safe, familiar space. He is leash trained and enjoys being out in the world, trotting along proudly beside you, but his favorite place will always be right in your arms—he truly cherishes being held. Inside the home, Peanut is very well behaved. He is not a barker and only occasionally offers a small alert if something unfamiliar catches his attention, but overall he moves through his day unfazed and happy. He is house trained and on a good 3–4 hour potty schedule. Due to his tiny size—and his very brave, carefree nature—he is always supervised outside here, as he has no idea he isn’t big enough to make friends with wildlife. He is wonderful for the groomer, loves road trips, and is always excited to see what the day brings. He plays sweetly, naps easily, listens well, and brings a gentle joy into any space he’s in. For such a small dog, he carries a lot of heart, and he gives every bit of it to the people he loves. Peanut is truly as tender, loving, and delightful as they come. His adoption fee is on our website at the bottom of his adoption listing at https://www.breadoflifek9refuge.org/post/peanut-1 Peanut is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and has had a full dental cleaning and polish, along with a complete exam from our veterinarian. His adoption fee helps cover all of his veterinary care, his dental cleaning, microchip, the months of care he has received with us, his grooming upkeep, and the training and foundation we have personally put into him to prepare him for this next chapter in his life.
