Story
Cody is a 4 year old Yorkiepoo. I’ve had him for about a year and a half. His previous owner sold him to me because their young daughter didn’t like him. Cody is a sweet boy when he’s comfortable. He likes cuddles, but also knows his limit and keeps his distance when he needs some space. He loves to run around and play. He has separation anxiety and barks/whimpers when you leave the house. I live in an apartment and he barks loudly when he hears neighbors. He is house-trained, but if you leave him unsupervised (even if you walked him before leaving) he may pee on the floor. With grooming, Cody does okay. He HATES getting his nails trimmed & the vet. He will scream, squirm, bite, whatever it takes to make it stop. During walks, he sometimes barks at strangers. He does okay with other dogs. I don’t have the time to properly take care of him. I’m a teacher who’s at school all day and because he barks @ neighbors & pees in the house, he’s in his cage for a lot of the day.

Story
Max is a family dog. He was purchased by my cousin. She wanted a support animal after being diagnosed with lupus. She was able to take care of Max for a while but then she and her husband find out they were expecting their 1st child. The stress of a puppy and a newborn was a medical disaster. I decided to rescue the puppy hoping that the child would love the dog when she grew older. Needless to say, she did not. I have taken care of Max for as long as I could. At this point my work schedule and my military injuries are preventing me from giving him the time and attention that he needs. It hurts to have to rehome my buddy, but I love him to much to have him all alone for 12 hrs every single day except 1.

Story
Meet our adorable and energetic Yorkipoo! He’s just over a year old and full of life. We adopted him through Facebook Marketplace from a previous owner who got him from a breeder. He’s a tiny bundle of joy, currently under 5 pounds, and loves to sleep in any cuddly spot he can find. This little guy is great with kids and cats, and he’s fantastic on walks. He’s an excellent alert dog, always barking when someone comes to the door. He’s not neutered or house-trained yet, but with a little patience and love, he’ll get there. He matches your mood perfectly – ready to play when you are and happy to snuggle when it’s time to relax. He’s not picky about his food and eats when he’s hungry. He’ll need regular grooming to keep him looking his best. If you’re looking for a loving, playful companion who will bring endless joy to your home, this Yorkipoo is the perfect match. Adopt him and give him the forever home he deserves!

Please read the bio in full for answers to your questions. In the event you have a question that is not covered in the bio, please email info@seniordoghaven.org. If interested in adopting, please complete an adoption application which can be found at https://seniordoghaven.org/adoption-process/.  Please note that because all our dogs live in foster homes, we are unable to set up meetings with a dog unless we have a completed adoption application on file. Adoptions must be within a reasonable distance from Middletown, DE for our volunteers to be able to conduct an in-person home visit. Meet Lilly! Lilly is a 14-year-old, 20 lb., Yorkipoo who was surrendered by her owner. She had bad teeth and a mass on her belly and we lovingly scooped her up. Lilly had her mass removed with no problems and received a dental. The vet prescribed a low-fat diet to improve her health, and in the meantime, she has the cutest waddle. Lilly is fully potty trained and has good vision and hearing.  She gets along wonderfully with dogs, cats, and children. Lilly would prefer a home with minimal stairs but she is happy to be picked up and carried as needed. She is not comfortable in a crate or pen but walks well on a leash and would do fine without a fenced-in yard. Lillyis a super happy girl who loves everyone she meets. She enjoys hanging out with furry friends, getting treats, and playing outside. Lilly is also very content to snuggle on the couch or in bed with you and get lots of butt scratches. This sweet pup is the whole package. Can you please take her home? Apply today!
