Story
He is a pure bred yorkie poo who is such a good boy. He is a very obedient dog that is house trained, will sit, stay, walk on a leash, and follow other basic commands. He is very easy going so he loves walks, hikes and being outside but will also be just as happy to stay home and relax most days. Teddy also has curly hair so he is hypoallergenic and does not shed fur. We would love to keep him if we could but our schedules make it unfair to him to keep him as a pet. He was attacked by another dog years ago so is not good with other animals or kids but will be an amazing pet to any other family who could give him a loving home that he deserves.

Story
Toby is a very sweet chocolate yorkipoo. Unfortunately, Toby has severe separation anxiety. It has been that way from the first day we met. It has gradually improved over the past year but still can be difficult to manage. Toby would do amazing with someone who can be around a lot. (A family, retired individual, SAHM, work-from-home situation, etc. would definitely be a great fit for Toby.) I live alone and have a busy work schedule. I gave up one of my jobs recently (for various reasons) which has helped Toby to have company. But I can’t do that forever. Toby does amazing with my friend’s family (4 people, several pets) and I think it’s because he always has human contact (someone is usually at home or if everyone is away, it’s very brief). He LOVES to be held and cuddled. In fact, he’ll almost sigh in relief at being held.

Story
ONE YEAR AT SHELTER HOPE, NOT ONE SINGLE INQUIRY Simmba doesn't deserve to spend the rest of his life in a rescue. He might be a "project dog," but he's a boy with a huge heart and so much love to give.  He was surrendered to us the day after Christmas back in 2024. Sadly, his owner kept him outside in their yard where, as the children grew older, he received less and less attention. Simmba is a 3-year-old Poodle mix who loves racing and rolling through the grass and soaking up the sun on his favorite bench. Inside, he keeps his lammy toy close and can't resist showering his person with enthusiastic face kisses. He also adores cuddles, head scratches, and just hanging out by your side. During his time at Shelter Hope, Simmba has shown how deeply he bonds with the people he trusts. He can be protective and sometimes needs help navigating his big feelings (and a touch of teenage stubbornness!), but with those he knows, he is loyal and eager for connection. Simmba also has some skin allergies, so he wears a cone to prevent licking, but it doesn't slow down his spirited, quirky personality. Simmba would do best with a single person who's ready to offer him steady guidance and companionship. Give him that, and you'll have a devoted friend who will fill your days with tenderness, loyalty, and joy! Will you give him that chance? ----- Looking to Adopt? Submit a Rescue Questionnaire! Story
UMA DID NOT DESERVE TO BE DUMPED!! Meet Uma Furman (AKA Uma Thurman), a tiny 4 year old and 10 lb Yorkie Maltese mix with a sweet soul and a touch of Hollywood sparkle! Sadly, she was found abandoned in Compton alongside her puppy and another dog believed to be her sister, with no collar, tag, or microchip. A good Samaritan took them in, hoping to find their owner. After posting about them online and no one came forward, it became clear they had been dumped. Shelter Hope heard her story and took in the entire little family. (We are happy to report her puppy has since been adopted!) We got Uma fixed, vaccinated and microchipped right away. At the clinic they discovered she has a heart murmur, but she takes it like a champ! When Uma first came in she was understandably very shy and shut down, but in the past few weeks we’ve seen such a wonderful transformation in her! Uma is now a bubbly, outgoing, and active little girl who absolutely loves attention. She’s truly the definition of sweet. She's happy, snuggly, and quietly affectionate. She also enjoys relaxing in her cozy dog bed and gets along beautifully with other dogs. Uma Furman is ready for the spotlight! She can't wait to become the star of her very own forever home! -------- Looking to Adopt? Submit a Rescue Questionnaire! Please be thorough in your answers.
