Fable is a very sweet, affectionate, happy young girl. She is approximately 6 months old, 15 pounds and will not likely get much bigger. She is said to be a Xolo mix, though we are not certain - she is definitely hairless though!   Fable did not have the best beginning in her life and she needs continued work on socialization. Any place outside her home is very scary, new people are scary, but once she knows you she is super affectionate.   Fable is not yet leash trained and will need help learning how to enjoy a nice stroll, but new environments are very scary for her right now, so patience and time to build confidence will be needed.   Fable may not be the dog you can take everywhere with you, at least not yet. She is also not yet housebroken but uses pads consistently like a good girl.   Fable will need a securely fenced yard, as well as some other playful dogs, big or small, in her new home, to help continue to build her confidence. She really thrives with their company and learns quickly from them.   Fable is good with cats. She loves to play as much as she loves to snuggle. Children are unknown, so children under 12 would not be a good match.   Fable absolutely loves to cuddle in bed with her foster siblings and foster mom at night. She is a typical puppy and will need to learn her manners but she is smart, easily learns and follows routine, and will likely catch on to basic training quickly. We have seen some minor signs of separation anxiety so her future home will need to work to ensure that she feels safe. She is not a fan of thunderstorms, but who is?   Fable is spayed, microchipped, heartworm negative and up to date on her vaccines. Being a naked girl, her skin needs some attention. It was not cared for properly prior to coming into rescue but it has improved. She will need continued maintenance to keep her skin healthy. All she needs is to find her pawfect home! If you think you can offer Fable a lifelong home, check out our website and adoption process on our website nakedkissesdogrescue.org. Fable is fostered in Vero Beach, FL, and her adoption fee is $500. November 4, 2024, 3:44 pm

Story
Meet Chico! Chico is a 6-7 year old little guy who was surrendered to us when his owner could no longer care for him. Chico is a reserved fellow until he decides that he trusts you. He is fairly independent. He wouldn't do well with young children. He is happy sleeping in his favorite bed just knowing you are around. Chico does well with other dogs and cats. Chico does not care for leash walking but can be trained. He tolerates car rides OK. He is doing well with re-housebreaking as long as he’s let out every five hours or so. Chico prefers soft food. He enjoys Pepperoni treats! Chico had a bad habit in his previous home of barking and running after people who are leaving. He has not done this in his foster home. Chico is not crate trained as he behaves well in the home. He has ridden in a crate in the car and goes fine. Chico loves to sleep deep under the bed covers. He will sleep out on the sofa as well. Chico is a quiet fellow and will make an excellent chill companion! Chico is neutered, HW negative, vaccinated and micro-chipped. If you are interested in meeting him our application can be found at www.homesfurhounds.org. He is located in Williamsburg, Va.

Story
Meet Peanut Peanut is an older fellow (11 years) but pretty spry and full of life! He is a Velcro dog that loves to be with his person, which is pretty much anyone who gives him attention. He is friendly towards strangers. Peanut needs to be fed soft food ( doing well in Science diet sensitive skin and stomach) and he loves small bits of Pupperoni for a treat. He is a homebody who would prefer to walk around in a fenced yard but will walk on leash if needed. He is doing well with re-housebreaking as long as he’s let out every 5 hours or so. Peanut enjoys car rides too! He will sleep in bed with you or out on the sofa. He has not been crate trained as he does fine when free. Peanut does well with cats and other dogs as long as they respect his space. His only negative trait is fear of thunderstorms. He will run off if scared. He trembles and shakes until the storms pass. Overall Peanut will make a great companion! He is smart and engaged. Peanut is vaccinated, HW negative, neutered and micro-chipped. If you are interested in meeting Peanut our application can be found at www.homesfurhounds.org. He is located in Williamsburg, Va.

Story
From Molly’s Foster mom:Molly is a super sweet senior gal brought in as a stray. The first few days were hard. Molly seemed anxious and confused. She would often pace and whine. Outside in our fenced in yard she would put her nose through the slats and bark. As the days progressed, she calmed down but when awake would follow you from room to room. Overall, she is a very quiet and docile pup. I bathed her and cleaned her ears in the first few days. She seeks humane companionship but is not a cuddly lap dog. She likes to sit or stand alongside you to be petted. Occasionally you get a small tail wag. She has shown no signs of aggression and shies away from other dogs. Her favorite pastime is to sleep on the couch all day and at night preferable with a human. She likes short leisurely walks in quiet environments. She is overwhelmed by big crowds of dogs and people. Molly likes to roll in the grass and sniff the fresh air. She has not had any accidents in the house. The crate is not her favorite place, but she does not bark or destroy bedding inside the crate. She is deaf except to very loud noises, but her eyesight seems to be fairly good. Molly would like to keep on truckin into her forever home for her remaining Golden years. She would do best with a person who is patient and committed to work with any anxiety/confusion of being in a new environment. She needs security and reassurance of a stable home. With time this little girl will shine.
