Story
Angel is a female gray with white Chihuahua. She is 8 years old and she weighs 13 (a little chunky) pounds. Angel is spayed and vaccinated including rabies. Angel is heartworm negative and on monthly heartworm preventive. Angel is ready for adoption. (NOTE: Angel’s white hair is normal hair, her gray areas are skin with wispy patchy pair, leading us to think she might have Chinese crested mixed in.) Angel is special to us. She originally came to us 5 years ago with another dog from the same home when their owner couldn’t live on her own anymore. She was not socialized and wanted to hide. Angel was eventually settled into a foster home with a senior citizen with a couple of other dogs, a doggie door, and a couch she commandeered as her own personal bed. Angel liked to be on her own a lot, but socialized a bit with the people she encountered regularly. She barked at whomever she didn’t know. Angel tolerates other dogs but doesn’t buddy up or cuddle. Eventually Angel’s foster mom adopted her, so Angel got to keep her couch. She did great with the doggie door and caused no problems in her home. She would show little signs of affection to her mom. Unfortunately this summer Angel’s mom passed away. Angel had to come back to the main rescue location and she was injured (long story we will be glad to share with applicants). With a lot of special handling while she was recovering, Angel has finally shown us her softer, more affectionate side. We know her quirks, but in general Angel is no trouble to live with, she is potty trained, and she requires time to develop trust and love with a new person. Adoption fee is $150. Must apply: Application for adoption is located at http://fs19.formsite.com/JeffTarpleyRescue/application/index.html Jeff Tarpley Rescue 903-490-2959 We require all potential adopters to submit an application. We only accept applications for a specific dog you are interested in adopting. We do not keep waiting lists or files of general applications for dogs we might get later. The online application can be found at this location: http://fs19.formsite.com/JeffTarpleyRescue/application/index.html A completed adoption application and, upon approval, an adoption contract is required. Jeff Tarpley Rescue welcomes applications from homeowners, renters, and condo or apartment dwellers. At a minimum, a phone interview will be conducted and a vet reference checked before the applicant may meet their preferred pet. We adopt primarily in the 4 states of the ArkLaTexOma. Applicants willing to travel to Texarkana will also be considered with additional requirements to qualify as approved.
