Story
If you’re looking for the perfect Lady, we’ve got her right here! SNIPSA rescued this little red Chihuahua off the city’s euthanasia list just hours before her time. Lady had been surrendered to the local shelter as she had a large ulcerated mass on her chest, and her owners didn’t have the resources to care for her. So, we took Lady under our wing and started to tackle her medical needs. She had surgery to remove the large mass on her chest and also an unexpected benign tumor in her spleen. While we were able to remove both tumors, Lady has since developed several more mast cell tumors. Unfortunately, these tumors are not very responsive to chemotherapy so we have decided to provide Lady with the best life we can while she is with us. While we know it is somewhat of a tall ask, we are hopeful we can find a special person willing to love on her the duration of her earthly life. Currently, Lady is doing fantastic in her foster home. We have learned she loves to fetch and is her foster mom’s perfect shadow. She is very loyal to her chosen person but isn’t afraid to branch out and make new friends. Lady does well with cats and other dogs though being a Chihuahua she can be a little bossy:) Lady uses her special stairs to get up on the couch and she has a cozy spot that she has claimed at the foot of the bed. She is eager to join in on car rides for trips around town and will happily peek out the window to watch passing cars. With her confident and loving disposition, Lady would make a great travel buddy or work-from-home companion. She is currently taking a regiment of antacids and steroids to manage the mast cell tumors. So don’t scowl when you see she is a little on the chubby side. It’s just a crummy side effect of the prednisone. But in the end, it’s just more Chihuahua to love! Lady is one of our favorites–she is a blessing and deserves a blessing. We only want the best for her. Please consider opening your heart to this special girl.

Story
Oi! Are you looking to spice up your life? Well, then let me be the taste to your test! ;) Don’t worry, I’m way nicer than that Gordon Ramsey bloke you’ve all heard of. However, I am cooking up all the right ingredients to make the perfect pooch. My leash manners are nothing short of mastered and I’m sweeter than your favorite dessert! You might be wondering how a mix like me came to be, and the truth is that your guess is as good as mine! I know a Chihuahua/Labrador mix sounds like a strange combination, but these two breeds are some of the best around. Labs and Chihuahuas are both known for their loyalty to their families, so you’re sure to find a loving companion in me. And don’t let my photos mislead you! I really am on the smaller side, maxing out at just 24 lbs. I’ve got quite a bit of energy too, so I would LOVE a home with some room to spread my legs! Whether it’s daily walks, training sessions or a good ole’ fashioned game of fetch, there’s so many activities to keep my brain and body stimulated. So, don’t go bacon my heart! Submit an application to meet me today!

Story
Manny is a 2-year-old 10 pound, handsome as can be, Chihuahua. He was found running with a gaggle of various aged Chihuahuas down a road in Wilson County. He had a short stint of confinement and was placed with 2 buddies in Poquita Paws. This little guy is very adaptable and eager to please. He comes for pets and belly rubs and at times can be quite insistent that you drop what you are doing and give him a little attention. Manny has been very good with other dogs and curious to know if they want to be his friend and play. He likes certain toys to throw around to entertain himself. Manny is neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, treated for heart worms and evaluated by the vet. He has had no side effects of being heartworm treated and is very healthy. His adoption fee is $ 250 and includes 6 months of heartworm prevention. If interested, please submit an application from here. ADOPTION FEE & APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS Poquita Paws does not have a shelter, all of our dogs are raised in foster homes.  Each dog comes spay/neutered, rabies shots appropriate for their age, and dewormed twice.  The dogs are up to date on vaccinations according to their age at the time of adoption.  They are microchipped, heartworm tested and on monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventrative.  ALL OF THIS IS INCLUDED IN THE ADOPTION FEE.
