Story
Ghirardelli  1 year, neutered male, 12 lbs Chihuahua mix   LIKES: Snuggling is at the very top of the list! Ghirardelli loves eye gazing, hearing kind sweet words, being told he’s such a good baby. He mostly wants to be loved and adored and to be with his favorite people whenever he can. He loves walks and treats and meal times. He’s always excited to jump in the car for an adventure. He loves having a basket of toys and regularly goes and picks out the ones he wants to interact with. He also thinks the basket of slippers is a basket of toys – luckily, while he likes to chew on them, he’s relatively gentle overall.    DISLIKES: He’s not crazy about being left behind. Though he is a good boy and a good listener and understands when lovingly told, “You stay. I’ll be back.” He gets a little nervous around strangers and big dogs, and needs to be reminded that he’s safe.   PERSONALITY TRAITS: Ghirardelli is a sweet little darling boy. He arrived nervous and a bit unsure, wanting to be close, but a little timid to make eye contact. Now he loves looking in his human’s eyes. He loves to be loved! He’s smart and funny. He’s a little boy with a deep bark that comes out when he’s feeling protective or nervous. He’s always eager to have his harness put on because he knows it means walk time.    POTTY TRAINING STATUS: He took to using the doggie door within a few days. He’s good about doing his business while out on walks. He’s close to being perfect in the potty training department. He occasionally marks, and we are working on that     CRATE TRAINING STATUS: He does not like being in a crate. He’s a very attached little boy and definitely wants to share a bed with his person and be given freedom around the house.   EXTRAS/MISC.: Ghirardelli is shy at first but attached quickly to his foster Mom. Once he is comfortable with someone, he bonds very well. He's sweet and cuddly and the best snuggler. He has done very well with the two dogs in his foster home. He loves to run and would likely enjoy dog parks. Occasionally he tries to resource guard his person or his food, but he is a smart young guy who wants to please. Once he gets the message that it won't be tolerated, he stops and is easily redirected. Treats work very well for him as a motivator. Some dogs do just fine being left by themselves for a large chunks of time – Ghirardelli would not be a good fit for that type of situation.   To further inquire about GHIRARDELLI, submit an application. https://www.wigglytails.org/adoption-application   Tell us about yourself, family, other pets, and how GHIRARDELLI will mesh with your lifestyle. Story
Odin 7 mos, neutered male, 12 lbs Chihuahua Pug mix   LIKES: Going on a couple daily walks. Odin is a Velcro dog who enjoys being with his person whenever possible. He enjoys chew toys especially bones but he will play fetch indoors or outdoors.    DISLIKES: Odin doesn't like to be in a crate, and is vocal but calms down after you leave. He doesn't like to be in the yard unless someone is with him.   PERSONALITY TRAITS: Odin is a friendly, bouncy, playful, sweet, loving, Velcro pup that is treat motivated and learns quick.   POTTY TRAINING STATUS: He is doing well in his foster home with regular opportunities to go outside.   CRATE TRAINING STATUS: He would rather sleep/be with you. But he is crated when left unsupervised in his foster home, and he calms down when his person leaves.   EXTRAS/MISC.: He is a playful and athletic and his foster suspects he has a sighthound in his family tree. He has shown a tendency to be opportunistic at open doors and will need to be supervised and work on open door training. An active puppy, Odin needs someone who is ready to keep up with him.    To further inquire about ODIN, submit an application. https://www.wigglytails.org/adoption-application   Tell us about yourself, family, other pets, and how ODIN will mesh with your lifestyle.
