Meet our awesome foster dog Percy (Turkey at TAPS). Percy is a 8 1/2 year old Chihuahua mix. He initially came to TAPS in July of 2022 along with my dog Maynard. They came out of a hoarding situation of over 70 dogs. Both have adjusted so well since then. We appreciate all the work Percy’s previous Mom put into making sure he was socialized. I was fostering Percy with the hope that his Mom would rehab from some health issues, but with heavy hearts we found out she passed away this week. Now we are searching for the right forever home for Percy. He is a happy dog that sometimes has to be enticed to eat his dog food, but loves treats. He has been in our foster home for 4 months and has adjusted well. He is easy to care for. He likes attention and belly rubs, but may also disappear under the bed or in the laundry basket. This cutie is Kronk. He is a 10 year old Chihuahua with a ton of personality. He might be a senior but you wouldn`t know as this guy has tons of energy. When he`s not going on long walks on the trails, you can find Kronk relaxing in a bed with a treat. He loves getting attention and will demand it if you are not giving it to him! If you are interested in meeting this little guy, please make an appointment to meet him and see if he is the perfect fit for you and your home!

Gil Gil! Giliam! Mr. Gil! Man oh man where do we begin? It`s hard to find the words to describe the worlds greatest dog.He follows the director around everywhere. He has a truly amazing recall!!! He loves turkey and joining the staff in the breakroom to catch anything that falls. He is so spoiled so he just stays in the director`s office so he doesn`t have to be a victim to the loud kennels. He lives in the moment and chooses to forget how neglected he was in the past. He came in as a stray with HORRIBLE skin issues. He is resilient, hilarious, and the king of the shelter. He is 100% potty trained! If he doesn`t potty outside, it is ALWAYS on a potty pad. We love this handsome man!
