If you are interested, you MUST complete the application. We will only set up meet and greets with an approved application. Pixie is one of 10 small defenseless little dogs that was dumped in the middle of many many acres of nothing but soybean and corn fields. What a horrible fate for these dear sweet babies. Animal Control was called and they called PAWS to see if we could assist with trying to catch them and take them in. We have spent over two weeks (at the time of this post) and managed to catch 7 of them. We are still working to catch the last two that we can find and have not seen the 10th one since the first day. These babies have been through quite the ordeal and are now ready to go on to homes where they will be loved and doted on. They are all shy at first and definite flight risks so they will not be adopted to homes with children and will require that the adopter have a fenced yard. This beautiful girl, Pixie, is very shy and will take someone with lots of love and patience to win her over. She came around very quickly with me but gets very scared if anything in her environment changes or if she is taken to a new environment (such as the vet). She is a very loving little girl who wants to be loved so badly but just can't forget that humans have not been kind to her. She is still very afraid of fast movements. She will do well with other other dogs as long as they are her size or smaller and allow her to be the boss. She is about 11 lbs and we guestimate that she was born around 07/01/2018. Her adoption fee is $350.

Pascal is one of the small defenseless little dogs that was dumped in the middle of many many acres of nothing but soybean and corn fields. What a horrible fate for these dear sweet babies. Animal Control was called and they called PAWS to see if we could assist with trying to catch them and take them in. We spent over three weeks and managed to catch 9 of them. (It was reported that there were 10 but we never spotted a 10th dog.) Pascal is very shy and protective at first but once he gets to know you, he just wants to love and be loved. He will require someone with lots of love and patience to win his trust. He came around very quickly with me. He is a very loving boy who wants to be loved so badly but just can't forget that humans have not been kind to him. He seemed to be the protector of the group and did a little growling and snapping when he first met us. He is still very afraid of fast movements. He will do well with other other dogs as long as they are his size or smaller and allow him to be the boss. He is about 15 lbs and we guestimate that he was born around 07/01/2018. Story
Cynthia was in a home with several other dogs, most likely all related from various litters. Her owner called to see if we could take some of the dogs as he just couldn't take care of so many. Cynthia is a beautiful 6 lb girl who does well with other dogs her size. She is very timid of new people and will bite or nip if cornered. She has learned fairly quickly that I want to love her and be her friend so she has gotten pretty comfortable with me. She gives the best kisses and loves to be held once she trusts you. Her new home will require a fenced yard and someone with patience and hopefully some experience with extremely shy dogs. She does love her treats so that is helpful in getting her to understand that no one will harm her. She is believed to have been born around 11/01/2021. She needs a home that is quiet without a lot of visitors and no children under 18. If you think you are a good fit for her, please go to pawspaws.org to complete the application. Please note: if our babies are still pictured, they are still available for an application. Also, the Petfinder Inquiry is not the PAWS application so please be sure to complete the PAWS application if you would like to be considered. Her adoption fee is $300.
