Story
Apply online at www.lolasrescue.com Meet Cuete, the Quirky Clown Looking for His Forever Family! If you're looking for a one-of-a-kind companion, Cuete is your guy! This lovable adult Xoloitzcuintli (Mexican Hairless dog) is 37lbs of personality, charm, and quirks. Cuete is the type of dog that will keep you laughing with his funny antics, but he also has a soft, affectionate side that's all about bonding with his humans. Cuete is a bit of an independent spirit and much prefers the company of his people over other dogs. He can coexist with other dogs, but slow, patient introductions are key to his comfort. Cuete does have a tendency to claim his space (and his toys!) and isn’t a fan of sharing, so a home without small children would be ideal. When he's not stealing the spotlight with his antics, Cuete is an expert counter surfer and has no problem hopping over 4ft fences (he’s got some serious jumping skills!). He’s crate trained and mostly potty trained, though he does enjoy letting his voice be heard from time to time—apartment living might require some patience with his barking. Cuete is currently working through some skin issues, and his biopsy has shown a possible autoimmune endocrine condition that may require medication and careful experimentation with diet and soothing remedies. His future family should be understanding and patient as we continue to monitor and treat his condition. If you’re an experienced dog owner who can offer Cuete the love and attention he deserves—and a little space for his quirky personality—he just might be the perfect fit for you! Dogs that state ***RESCUE CENTER*** are available for meet and greets 7 days a week between 11am and 4pm at Lola's Rescue Center located at 22351 E. Story
This dog is a courtesy listing and not one of our dogs. Please contact the email listed in this post.   Meet Ben, a 5-year-old Chihuahua and Pit Bull mix who has endured the unimaginable. Despite being tragically shot by a neighbor, Ben's spirit remains unbroken. This courageous canine has a heartwarming blend of loyalty, affection, and resilience that shines through, even in the face of adversity. Ben is currently recovering from his injuries and has partial paralysis. However, his sweet and loving nature remains undeterred. He is a gentle soul who enjoys the company of both humans and other dogs. Ben is up-to-date on his vaccinations and has a history of being kid-friendly. While Ben requires special care, including regular medications and assistance with expressing his bladder, his wheelchair provides him with mobility and independence. We are searching for a compassionate and understanding foster home or adoptive family who can offer Ben the love, patience, and support he needs to thrive. A donation will be offered to the adoptive family to help offset the costs of Ben's ongoing care. If you are interested in providing Ben with a loving home, please reach out to us. Let's give Ben the chance to experience the joy and companionship he deserves. highcountryvet@gmail.com 719.390.7995  December 22, 2024, 10:52 am

Story
As this statuesque   23 -pound brown beauty grows comfortable in her foster home, her sweet nature shines through. She enjoys cuddling, giving hugs to her foster humans, and playfully asking for love with her paw or by rolling over for belly rubs. Six year old Jasmine Jane loves to burrow under blankets, typical of her Chihuahua breed, and also delights in interactions with her canine foster siblings. Together, they play with toys, fetch balls, and go for walks, where she is honing her leash skills. Highly motivated by food and treats, Jasmine Jane is eager to please and is a quick learner. She has already mastered commands like “come,” “sit,” “stay,” “down,” and “no,” and is nearly fully crate and house-trained. Jasmine Jane will thrive in a loving household, ideally with another playful dog, and patient adopters who can help enhance her socialization with people and other dogs, complete her training, and show her the joy of companionship!   Animal Rescue of the Rockies believes every pet should find a wonderful and caring home. Story
Marco makes his foster home merry simply by being in it! Barely past puppyhood at the age of one, this 11-pound brown bundle of joy is sweeter than sweet, cuter than cute, and thrives on the constant companionship of his furry friends – both canine and feline – and foster parents. Cuddly and snuggly, and quite simply “awesome,” Marco, who’s moderately energetic, enjoys playing with toys, especially smaller stuffies, taking rides in the car and going for walks, walking quite well on leash and honing his skills along the way. Because he loves everyone equally, from adults to children, he’s always eager to meet them, even in public places like breweries, where they’re just as eager to meet him. Fond of any and all treats and motivated by food, toys and love, he currently seems to know no commands, but since these are still early days, and he’s a natural-born people pleaser, he should prove ever so easy to teach. Never crated and almost fully house-trained, all Marco needs now is a loving home that will complete his training, including his commands, in return for the sweetest of fur-ever loves.   Animal Rescue of the Rockies believes every pet should find a wonderful and caring home.
