I am in a foster home and not at the shelter. If you are interested in adopting, submit an adoption questionnaire by email. Learn more hereMeet Xipe, the sweet and endearing pup who’s looking for a loving family to help him build confidence and trust. 1-year-old Xipe might be a bit shy and may initially freeze or cower when approached too quickly. But don’t let that fool you—underneath his reserved exterior is a playful and loving pup who thrives with patience and gentle encouragement. Xipe’s sweet nature shines through once he feels comfortable. He’s incredibly affectionate and finds joy in human company. His strong motivation for treats makes him eager to learn, and he’s already mastered commands like "sit," "leave it," "house," and "couch." He’s also crate trained, which helps him feel secure and at ease in his environment. Living harmoniously in foster with four cats and three other dogs, Xipe is friendly and gets along well with his furry companions. His playful spirit and treat motivation make him an enthusiastic learner and a fun addition to any home. Xipe will do best with another confident, friendly dog in the home to show him the ropes. Potential adopters should be ready to continue Xipe’s socialization journey with consistent positive reinforcement training. With your patience and love, Xipe will flourish into the confident, joyful companion he’s meant to be. If you’re ready to offer a safe and nurturing environment for this wonderful pup, Xipe is eager to find his forever family and show you just how loving and fun he can be! Story
Last year, I was contacted by an acquaintance about a Xoloitzcuintli, about 1 years old, needing to be re-homed. The owner was a young woman who lived in a mobile home Estates, worked long shifts and had young children. She could not longer care for this dog. Seeing the health condition of the dog, I decided to take her home with me and took her to the vet the next day. I had noticed that her dew claws were very swollen and infected and she had tape worm. She has had surgery to remove her dew claws, worms have been treated, and she is spayed, along with all of her vaccinations being up to date. She was never house trained and I believe requires professional training, positive reinforcement and patience to work with her on this. Very high energy dog! Very sweet, good with other dogs and has lived with my family (with 3 children of varying ages.)

These pups are in San Francisco, California too!

Story
This adorable pup-fluencer is famous for loving treats and looking cute with her tongue hanging out. Taylor is a sweet girl who loves taking sunbeam snoozles after a long day of filming her hit reality TV show, the Secret Lives of Senior Mutts. And you won't believe the latest drama. DogTok is never going to survive this. Here's some notes from her foster: Taylor Frankie Paul is a gorgeous sweet little lady with a cute tongue that sticks out. She loves a good snuggly spot in the sun next to her favorite person. She is great with stairs and a good little walker. She is still getting used to the city noises. She likes treats and watching people. Taylor Frankie Paul is a great little friend!

Story
Are you craving something sweet, satisfying, and addictive? Meet Bubble Tea! She is in high demand, a rich butterscotch base with a swirl of cream. Bubble Tea is sure to bring a smile to your face. Her ears are unforgettable, and her eyes will melt your soul. Whether you prefer being on the move or relaxing on the porch, this little lady will follow your lead. She is easy going, loves other dogs, and is all about cuddles. If you are willing and ready to shower her in pearls and enjoy every second you get to be together, send us an email immediately and acquire about adopting Bubble Tea! Here's some notes from her foster: Bubble Tea is a sweet and elegant girl, with long legs, fantastic ears and surprisingly soft fur. She is very quiet, low maintenance, and doesn't need many potty breaks. She enjoys her walks, keeping a nice pace without any pulling but with a few sniffing stops when a scent catches her attention. She gives a few barks if she sees other dogs on the street (whether on our walks or in the car), but she quickly settles down when asked. She will also listen if you preemptively remind her not to bark at them. While she peacefully co-exists with our resident dog and cat, she enjoys reminding my dog to mind his manners when I'm dishing out their food or getting them ready for a walk. I haven't seen her around children, but I've heard that she was drawn to them when she would see them at Muttville. She sleeps soundly through the night in her own dog bed and rides nicely in the car. She keeps an eye on us during the day, and prefers slow gentle pets over lap time or being held. She may eventually become more cuddly as she gains more confidence and trust. She hasn't had any issues being left alone, but she sure is happy to see us when we come back home. She had a rough patch a few months ago and needs time to feel safe again, so she needs a patient adopter who will give her the time she needs to settle in. Their patience will pay off, because this sweet girl wants to love on a person but just needs a little more time to get there. It's incredibly rewarding to see how resilient she is in learning to trust new people and letting her sweet and calm personality shine through again.

Story
Navy wants to be everyone's best friend, and his tail won't stop wagging. This energetic little dude might have snuck into Muttville with a fake ID. We'd like to give him the benefit of the doubt, but he is way too peppy and savvy with social media to be a senior. Please, no one give him any alcohol just in case. Here's some notes from his foster: Navy is the ultimate ray of sunshine ! This joyful pup's tail never seems to stop wagging, and those big, soulful eyes are always on you, ready for his next belly rub session. Wherever you go, Navy's right behind, like your own loyal little shadow. He's a master of comfort too, somehow always discovering the fluffiest spot to cozy up, whether it's a blanket, a pillow, or the perfect sunny patch for a nap. Though his hearing may not be as sharp, he's as friendly as can be, winning over both people and dogs alike with his warm, gentle charm. Navy is the cutest, wiggliest dog. When he comes for pets, because he is so happy, he is constantly in motion as he's getting ear scratches and belly rubs. He's the perfect apartment dog. He doesn't take up space and is very quiet. He's totally unbothered by people moving through the hallways and noises of neighbors. He never barks. He's friendly and confident around other dogs. Even if another dog barks at him while on a walk, he stays calm, happy, and unfazed. He can be a bit possessive around his toys. Since he really loves fetch, I have found that it's best when I play fetch with him I have two toys. One that I throw to him, and he brings that one back and then I throw the other one that's not in his mouth. It's the perfect system for him. He's a great dog for morning people, or someone who wants to be a morning person. He wakes up with so much joy and excitement, I also get happy to see his joy and it feels great to be enjoying the fresh air early in the morning.
