I am in a foster home and not at the shelter. If you are interested in adopting, submit an adoption questionnaire by email. Learn more hereMeet Xipe, the sweet and endearing puppy who’s looking for a loving family to help him build confidence and trust. At almost 10 months old, Xipe might be a bit shy and may initially freeze or cower when approached too quickly. But don’t let that fool you—underneath his reserved exterior is a playful and loving pup who thrives with patience and gentle encouragement. Xipe’s sweet nature shines through once he feels comfortable. He’s incredibly affectionate and finds joy in human company. His strong motivation for treats makes him eager to learn, and he’s already mastered commands like "sit," "leave it," "house," and "couch." He’s also crate trained, which helps him feel secure and at ease in his environment. Living harmoniously in foster with four cats and three other dogs, Xipe is friendly and gets along well with his furry companions. His playful spirit and treat motivation make him an enthusiastic learner and a fun addition to any home. Xipe will do best with another confident, friendly dog in the home to show him the ropes. Potential adopters should be ready to continue Xipe’s socialization journey with consistent positive reinforcement training. With your patience and love, Xipe will flourish into the confident, joyful companion he’s meant to be. If you’re ready to offer a safe and nurturing environment for this wonderful pup, Xipe is eager to find his forever family and show you just how loving and fun he can be! Story
All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, shots current (DHPP, Bordetella and Rabies where applicable), dewormed, flea and tick treated, and microchipped.  * If you are interested in a dog, please first read the biography on the dog (keep scrolling down for the bio!) and then go to our website, www.dpsrescue.com for an application. Our adoption fees vary. Each biography will specifically list the adoption fee.Adoption Fee: $250Thank you to the generous donation of the Brand Family, much of Bentley's adoption fee has been sponsored. Thank you so much!   Bentley is a great option for Foster to Adopt. He is the kind of dog who will warm up to you but is scared at first so needs time to blossom. If you're interested in an FTA, this is a great option. Bentley is a 1 year old Chihuahua mix who is hoping to find a luxury car collector to call his own! Bentley was surrendered by his owner when they were no longer able to care for him. We scooped up this precious pipsqueak and away we went! Bentley weighs 12 pounds and is the perfect size for adventures and companionship. We know that those who adore the affection and silliness of the Chihuahua breed will be overjoyed with Bentley. Don’t let this limited edition collector’s item pass you by, adopt Bentley!      Bentley is a loving and loyal pup who can’t wait to charm you from minute one! He is cuddly and loves to spring into any open lap for cuddles and kisses. He is a total companion dog and will follow around his family member of choice during the day, especially when they have snacks. Bentley has very expressive ears and eyes, it’s like he’s communicating in his own little language! Bentley is very much still in puppyhood and loves to play play play! Squeaky toys, tennis balls, plushies, you name it, Bentley will add anything to his favorites list. He’s super smart as well and aims to please his people with everything he does. Don’t let his small stature fool you, we know this guy could be the perfect trail companion! Once you’re done with the day’s adventures, he’s ready to curl up for a night of movies and cuddles. If you are lucky enough to bring Bentley home, you will get a dog full of endless love and loyalty. Our favorite thing about Bentley is when he’s happy he does a little tap dance on his hind legs. He is such a character and we couldn’t love him more!  Bentley wakes up at 8 AM and heads out on his morning stroll with his foster parents. Once he returns home, he enjoys his morning kibble and a yummy treat. During the day, Bentley alternates between snoozing around the house, showing off his zoomies in the yard, soaking up cuddles from his people, and playing with his plush toys. Bentley has a snack around 1 PM (usually fruit) and then goes out for another walk around 5 PM once his foster parents finish their workday. Bentley eats dinner at 6 PM and then spends the rest of his evening playing in the living room and getting cuddled on the couch. He goes out for one last potty at 9 PM and then heads to his crate for the night.  Bentley loves his canine foster brothers and spends his days playing with them. He is faithful to his people and will be the most loyal companion you can imagine. Bentley walks very well on a leash and is a great walking companion. He would benefit from additional training and socialization as he reaches adulthood. Bentley is fully house trained and crate trained. Bentley would do well as either a solo dog or as a companion pup to another playful dog. Check out the star of our car show and adopt Bentley today!      Bentley is an option for homes with prior dog owning experience. Kids in the home should be over the age of 13.November 2, 2024, 6:03 pm

Our adoption fees vary. Each biography will specifically list the adoption fee. This dog will be at Palo Alto Pet Food Express on Saturday, November 2nd from 12-3pm or until adopted. If you would like the first opportunity to adopt, please fill out an application to be considered.   Adoption Fee: $750   The Harvest puppies are a litter of 11 week old Chi-Terri-Poo mixes (or in this case maybe Dad was a Chi. Often litters can have more than one Dad) ready to kick off Fall with their forever homes! These puppies were born into our rescue on July 29th by Mama Harvest and have been adored by all as they have grown up. Now they are ready to fly the nest and start their next chapters! Each puppy has a unique look which is so fitting for this fabulous litter. They are each full of surprises and adorable quirks. This litter is 3 girls and 2 boys. Mama is around 15 pounds so we expect babies to be in that range when they reach their adult weights. The puppies are an option for those homes who have dogs, cats or children.     Apple Bobbing (F): Apple is a loving and cuddly little girl who is truly ready to be the apple of your eye! She is the perfect puppy who is happy to spend hours snoozing in your lap as the world passes by her. However, she also loves to romp around and explore the world with her siblings. Like any puppy, the world is full of wonders from her vantage point. She’s just not leading the charge, more following and enjoying the adventures. Apple’s favorite toy is a baby tunnel she loves to scamper through as well as a little tennis ball she claimed. Once she’s had her fill of playing, she’s ready for a nap, ideally in your arms! She loves being held like a little baby and can snooze for hours curled up on your chest. If you’re lucky enough to pluck this Apple out of the bunch, you’ll win the greatest prize of them all: Apple Bobbing!  Corn Maze (F): Corn Maze is a sweet, cuddly, and loving girl who knows you’ll be lost in her puppy dog eyes from the moment you meet her! She’s known as the “voice of reason” in the litter as she’s always calming her siblings down when they get too chaotic. She still loves to play though and has tons of toys she trots around the yard with. She may be the smallest of the bunch, but she’s got quite the brain! She is clever and learned quickly to let her siblings tumble first before she carefully follows. She loves a good adventure but she loves cuddle time even more. It’s hard to resist dropping whatever you are doing when she flashes her adorable puppy dog eyes at you. Corn is just an utter darling and has the softest coat you’ll want to pet for hours. Don’t let yourself get lost in any old maze this fall season, come out and visit our Corn Maze!  John Deere (M): John Deere is ready to plant the harvest and then play in the rewards! This little dude is so playful and hasn’t met a toy he doesn’t love. His tail wags from dawn till dusk as he explores the world with a smile on his face and a song in his heart. He loves giving kisses and adores a good belly rub, ideally as he sits on your lap! John has been an absolute hilarious delight as he does his bunny hop run around the yard, charging through his play tunnel as he scampers after his siblings. John is always at the top of the cuddle pile (smart cookie) and he loves making a pillow out of one of his littermates when the time comes for a nap. He is such a little character and we see more of his amazing personality develop by the day, so we know his forever family will delight in him as he grows up. If you’re ready for a new harvest companion, bring home a brand new John Deere! Orchard (F): Orchard is a gal who is just bursting with charm, personality, and cuteness! She’s the first to explore and leads her siblings bravely into new adventures. Her tail starts wagging when she wakes up and it doesn’t stop until she goes to bed. She is full of energy and personality and has the sunniest outlook on life! She loves her chew toys and her romps but she also can’t resist a good cuddle session. Orchard brings a burst of happiness and joy into every room she enters and it is impossible not to smile when she shows off her antics. From scampering after her toys with her adorable run to conking out on your chest after a day of playtime, she is just the cutest little dog in the world. Orchard is a total foodie as well and can’t wait to check out all the local hotspots with you! Come on down to the farm and meet Orchard!  Pumpkin Patch (M): Pumpkin Patch is a scruffy little boy who is the perfect blend of cuddles and play! Pumpkin is a total Mama’s boy who is always up for a cuddle and would be a perfect Zoom mascot as he snoozes on your lap. He’s an old soul in a little puppy boy according to his foster mom. He loves to cautiously explore the world around him but is happy to scamper back when you call him. Pumpkin is a foodie like his sister and is often found trying to sneak extra treats out of his people. He is so smart and learned quickly how to perform for snacks. What a character! Pumpkin will thrive in a home ready for all the love and kisses he has in store. He’s been such a darling and is (secretly) our favorite pup. Don’t tell his siblings though because we adore them all! If you’re ready to kick off October, come down and meet Pumpkin Patch!      The puppies start their morning around 7 AM with breakfast as their pen is cleaned out from overnight activities. After they eat their fill, they spend some time charging around the backyard as they run out their zoomies and chase after toys. After they tire themselves out, they come inside and nap for a few hours. They eat again at noon and then circle between sleeping and playing for the rest of the afternoon. They love playing in the yard! They eat again at 5 PM and then play in the living room as their family gets home from their days. In the evening, they soak up all the cuddles and pets they can as they watch TV and tumble around after each other. They get one last little snack before bed and then head to their pen for the night at 10 PM.  The Harvest puppies have been incredibly well socialized with dogs of all ages and sizes since they were born. They have met people of all ages, from toddlers to those young at heart and are happy to befriend them all. Interested homes should be prepared to continue their training and socialization to build on the fabulous base their foster homes have provided them. If you’re ready to start your Fall adventures, adopt a Harvest baby today!      The Harvest puppies are only an option for homes who have owned a dog. Kids in the home should be over the age of 6.November 2, 2024, 6:03 pm

Good is an option for Foster To Adopt for a few days. Good is a 2 year old Italian Greyhound mix who weighs 8lbs and is ready to live her best life as the Good-est girl ever! Good came into our rescue with her sister, Plenty (can we hear a cheer from the licorice fans)! We promised to find these gals the best possible forever homes and we know they are once in a lifetime type of dogs! Good is a petite little lady with fabulous Dumbo ears and little Gazelle legs. She’s a little model ready to strut her way right into your heart! If you’re ready for the best times ever, bring home some good times with Good!      Good is a cuddly and loving little lady who is hoping to find a home to shower her in love! She’s the kind of dog where once you earn her trust, she will be your best friend for life. She’s the perfect mix of Dumbo ears and Gazelle legs, giving her such a unique look. She turns heads wherever she goes. She’s a huge cuddler and would be the best WFH companion. She’s happy to sleep the workday away in preparation for all the fun that the evening promises. Good is energetic when she has her toys or her foster sibling to play with, showing off her fun-loving personality. She’s more of a couch potato though and can’t resist a good nap! She bonds with her people quickly and shows her devotion in the form of cuddles and kisses. You won’t be able to remember how you went about your day before she was in it! She has such an endearing nature and combined with her irresistible puppy dog eyes, we know she’s going to take the world by storm!  Good starts her day between 8:30 and 9 AM. She wags her tail and smiles as her crate is opened and then she heads out on her morning walk. She eats breakfast after her stroll and then goes out for some sniffs. During the day, Good hangs out with her foster people as they work from home. She takes some breaks for play and cuddles, but she’s mostly happy to curl up and snooze the day away. After the workday ends, she goes out on another walk before she enjoys her evening meal. Once she’s eaten, she snuggles with her people on the couch and gets all the cuddles as she watches TV and catches up on her shows. She goes out for one last potty break around 10 PM and then heads into her crate for a night of dreams.  Good lives with a small dog who has a similar temperament to her. They like to play together but they also love to nap together. A win win! Good would benefit from additional leash training and socialization, as the world is pretty big for a little gal like her! Good’s ideal home is a calm and consistent environment where she can continue coming out of her shell. If you’re ready to hype her up, she’s ready to make her second chance the best ever!       Good is an option for homes with prior dog ownership experience. Good is an option for kids over the age of 6.November 2, 2024, 6:03 pm
