But don’t let that fool you—underneath his reserved exterior is a playful and loving pup who thrives with another confident dog in the home and patience from his humans. Xipe’s sweet nature shines through once he feels comfortable. His strong motivation for treats makes him eager to learn, and he’s already mastered commands like "sit," "leave it," "house," and "couch." He’s also crate trained, which helps him feel secure and at ease in his environment. Living harmoniously in foster with four cats and three other dogs, Xipe gets along well with his furry companions. Xipe will do best with another confident, social dog in the home to show him the ropes. Potential adopters should be ready to continue Xipe’s journey with consistent positive reinforcement training. Stacy is a pretty 16-pound mixed-breed pup looking for a forever home to help her blossom. She does great with other dogs and cats, has mastered house training, and has proven to be a low-maintenance and quiet member of her foster household. Stacy wants to be around people and follows her foster family around, joining them on the couch or bed or curling up in a nearby dog bed to stay close. Stacy’s past life as part of a pack of under-socialized small dogs means that she does have some residual anxiety: she worries about being approached by people and will often retreat if approached, preferring instead to seek attention from people on her own terms. Because of this history, Stacy will do best in a home with other dogs, and will follow their lead to learn the rules of the pack and build trust with her people. Introducing Black Tie! Shy and timid with unfamiliar people and environments, Black Tie has been working on building his confidence in a foster home, and now he's ready for his forever home. He's turned into a big snuggler with his foster family and loves hanging out and playing with his doggie foster siblings--he's even learning to go for walks! Although he's considered a "senior" at 8 years old, Black Tie has lots of energy and runs around happily with his younger foster siblings, while also being content to nap while his foster mom is at work. Black Tie needs: --a patient adopter, with experience handling fearful dogs, who will make him feel safe and allow him to build trust and confidence over time. --a home with at least one other confident, social dog as a role model to help him understand that humans are cool!
