Xipe’s sweet nature shines through once he feels comfortable. He’s incredibly affectionate and finds joy in human company. His strong motivation for treats makes him eager to learn, and he’s already mastered commands like "sit," "leave it," "house," and "couch." Living harmoniously in foster with four cats and three other dogs, Xipe is friendly and gets along well with his furry companions. She is clearly a smart girl and has already learned a lot by observing the other dogs. While still shy, she happily takes treats from volunteers' hands and allows a gentle pet or two. She is also learning to walk on leash by simply following other dogs and doing what they do. In a quiet home with an experienced adopter and a confident canine sibling, we think Stacy will blossom into an affectionate pup who fully embraces the good life of comfy dog beds, yummy treats, and a family of her own. Though barely out of puppyhood, creamy chi-mix Garth has had a rough start to life and is looking for an angel adopter who will give him all the love and care he deserves. Brought in as a stray, he is overwhelmed by the shelter environment and shy with volunteers, likely due at least in part to issues with his back legs, which appears to be congenital. Garth is mobile and gets around in his own way, enjoys playing with stuffed toys and the company of other gentle dogs, and is starting to learn the value of tasty treats. Garth would do best in a quiet home without stairs, preferably with a confident yet gentle pup who can show him how to dog. If you've found yourself here, you must be looking for a pocket-sized princess with an absolutely fabulous underbite. Oh, and she twirls. As in, perfect little excited circles that bring joy and belly laughs. Here's what her foster has learned about this 3-year old in a short time… The positives Seems potty trained. Sleeps through the night. Likes to go on walks. EXPERT lap dog. Have an open lap? Now you don't. Friendly towards dogs of SIMILAR size. She's a wee 6 pounds, so if you've got bigger pup she's probably not your gal. Kid friendly with slow and respectful children, 8+ Very food motivated. Haven't seen any destructive tendencies so far. Som considerations Butterbean is a velcro dog. She wants you to be her person, and she doesn't like being alone. Best suited for a retiree or work from home family. She's a slow burner, and needs to feel safe before bestowing her stinky kisses. She needs a patient and gentle adopter(s) willing to work on confidence building. While generally quiet, she does have a loud voice for a small dog and it comes out randomly. Unknown how she feels about cats, but she does bark and pull at other prey.
