Story
As circumstances in his family’s life had changed, Brother finds himself looking for a new home. At 6.5 years old this sweet guy is a delight. He knows how to sit, stay, lay down, leave it, touch and what potty means. True to his breed he is friendly, loyal, and affectionate with an energetic yet gentle disposition. He is very intelligent, easy to train and seems to enjoy learning new things. He enjoys his dog bed and is also crate trained. However, Brother loves and prefers to hang out on the couch/lazy boy recliner on your lap or next to you then in his crate. If you have a blanket for him to struggle up under, he is especially happy. He also enjoys your bed. He wants to be with you and will follow you about the home. He loves to go for car rides and is a great hiking buddy. Due to his breed he loves to chase cats, but he doesn't hurt them, and he will walk away if a cat challenges him. He needs a lot of walks and exercise; a fully fenced yard is a necessity. He loves to run and play chase. He plays well with other dogs however he is medium size at about 45 lbs and will need to be watched if he is playing with bigger stronger dogs that could hurt him. He is food motivated, likes strong chew toys but will tear apart soft dog toys. Because he is a bird dog, he isn't great with chickens or any small animals, as he wants to hunt, who can blame him this is what German Shorthaired Pointers were bred to do. He doesn't jump up or lick and best of all he loves kids. This guy will make a great addition to the family that understands the energy level of German Short Hair Pointers and who are willing to accept him for who he is.If you are interested in meeting him, please don't hesitate to email adoption@columbiahumane.org to obtain an adoption application. Once you have an approved application on file, we will then schedule a time for you to come and meet him. His adoption fee is $250.00, that includes him being current on all his vaccines, microchipped, treated for fleas and treated for worms. For more information call 503-397-4353 or email adoption@columbiahumane.orgNovember 23, 2024, 6:12 am
