APPLICATION LINK: https://shaynesrescue.com/adoption-application-pet-central-satx/ We must have an application to move forward. SPARKY is probably a Wire-haired Terrier mix…DOB 5/14/24…currently about 10# with long legs. He will probably stay under 20#. Sparky is personality PLUS!!! He loves to play with other dogs. He loves people and will “climb” into your lap if you let him. He basically leaves my cats alone although on an occasion he thinks they’re fun toys to play with. He basically leaves them alone, though because he has other dogs to play with. Sparky will make a great loving and affectionate dog…you can’t help but fall in love with his big smile. This dog is CURRENTLY IN TEXAS and available for pre-adoption. Adoptions include neuter/spay, vaccinations (DHPP, Bordetella, Rabies), microchip, health certificate, transport with our professional dog transporter, and 6 mos of heart worm prevention. You can ask us about how pre-adoption works and our "trial period." If you have any questions or would like an e-mail from us as to how all of this works, text me (Terry); identify the dog's name and give me your email address... 210-394-6060. You can also go to our Facebook page... https://www.facebook.com/Pet-Central-SATX-866684826744181/ and LIKE us to help us out. After we review your application, we will contact you, and you'll have the opportunity to find out more from their foster family or the rescue. If you experience any issues filling out the application you can contact us directly at shaynerescue@gmail.com. This is ONLY if you have problems applying. If you have not applied, you will not receive a response so please only email if you have any issues applying. Adoption Fees The adoption fee includes transportation to WA/OR. All pups and dogs are fully vetted, spayed/neutered, microchipped, dewormed, have a negative heart worm test for all dogs over 6 months at time of transport, have a health certificate, and have all age-appropriate vaccinations. Some dogs/pups have additional medical, including but not limited to FHO, ACL, hernias, dental, and other vetting. All medical records will be provided to the adopter at the time they pick up their dog. HOW ABOUT FOSTERING! If you are not in the position to afford a puppy/dog but still want to be an important factor in dog rescue, we recommend fostering. Fostering ensures you incur no vet bills and no boarding fees while saving a life and enjoying the love of a canine companion. We are always in need of good fosters. You can sign up to foster at this link: https://shaynesrescue.com/foster-application/ This is a post on behalf of Pet Central SATX Rescue, headquartered in San Antonio, Texas, where there are over 350,000 homeless pets. We have hundreds of puppies/dogs available so there really is no need to apply anywhere else. Also, one application is good even if you are interested in several different dogs...one application no matter which one you choose. Thank you for choosing to adopt a rescue pup/dog. We firmly believe there is NO breed other than "rescue" for all species. Thank you for being part of the village it takes to save these precious lives.

Story
Buddy 8/18/24 Age 4.5 years Buddy's BEST LIFE!! Buddy would do best in a home where he is the only animal, and where there are no children. Buddy would be happiest with an older, single Female human. He would like to go on walks, with his tail happily in the air, and snuggle on the couch watching TV! Buddy's Strengths: Buddy is very sensitive and empathic and will come and give you a very gentle paw if you're feeling down, maybe even a little kiss to try to cheer you up. Buddy loves to be petted gently and likes to be close to his person. He would be a very happy binge watching Netflix with you! Buddy LOVES his sling and being so close to his person. Buddy prefers to go potty outside, but he will also go on a wee wee pad in a pinch. Buddy is housebroken, but uses both outdoors and wee wee pads. Buddy does not need haircuts. Saves $. Buddy does not beg for food at the table or elsewhere. Buddy likes to have the safety of a crate to retreat to. Best if one has a blanket over the top and left open for him to come and go as he likes. Buddy's Quirks: Buddy is sensitive about his neck. He does not like to have his collar put on. Buddy is very reticent. It takes a very long time for him to trust someone. When you can pet his belly, you've won him over! When you have won Buddy's trust, he will be very loyal and protective of you. Buddy is not very food motivated, except for high value treats like deli turkey and some training treats. When training him, turkey is best. Buddy doesn't play with toys much. Occasionally he likes small toys to be thrown. Buddy does not like the sound of fire trucks and ambulances. It may hurt his ears because he cries loudly when one goes by. Buddy's schedule: Buddy normally poops 2x per day, once first thing in the morning, once late afternoon. Buddy gets kibble and some wet food on top in the morning and as much kibble as he wants throughout the day. He is not an overeater.
