I’m a 4-year-old shy Wirehaired Fox Terrier with a heart as gentle as my scruffy little face. I may be a bit timid at first, but with a bit of time, patience, and kindness, I’ll show you just how sweet I really am. I’m about 19 pounds and love quiet spaces, soft pets, and cozy spots where I can feel safe. New things can make me nervous, so I’m still getting used to the big, bustling world around me. Sometimes, I freeze up or even shake a bit, but if you’re calm and steady with me, I’ll start to trust you—and once I do, I’ll melt right into your lap. I love giving gentle kisses, and I’ll snuggle up close for more pets when I’m feeling safe. I’m learning how to play and absolutely love squeaky toys, especially ones that dart around like little squirrels! Tug of war is one of my new favorite games, and I can even hold my own against my 50-pound foster sibling. Since I’m still practicing leash walking, I’d feel most comfortable with a fenced yard where I can explore and play at my own pace. I do best with a calm, confident dog friend by my side; having another dog to follow helps me feel brave, especially on walks or when we’re out and about. I’m also crate-trained, which is where I go to feel extra safe when I need a quiet moment. My ideal home would be a peaceful one with someone who’s patient and gentle, willing to go at my pace. With a little love and understanding, I’ll reward you with all my gentle kisses and quiet loyalty. I’m Betty, a petite, 11-pound Jack Russell Terrier with a lively personality and a whole lot of love to give. They call me a "velcro dog" because I love to stick close to my favorite people. At home, I’m a total cuddle bug, happiest when snuggling up on the couch or in bed. I can be a bit reserved with new faces, but once I warm up, I’m all yours! I’m a high-energy girl, and I would thrive with an active family who loves to play and be outdoors. I’ll admit, I can get into a little mischief if I’m bored—so plenty of toys and fun activities keep me on my best behavior! I’m smart and love learning new tricks, especially if treats are involved. I even know how to sit and do a little "dance" for a snack, and I think I’d be a superstar in agility or obedience with the right training. I would be a great fit for someone with dog experience that understands training and setting boundaries for me. I’m getting the hang of leash walking, and I do best with a harness to keep me safe as I get excited and will pull on the leash. I get along well with my foster dog siblings and would love to have a furry friend in my forever home, especially one who likes to run and wrestle with me. While I enjoy the company of other dogs, I’m a little too rowdy around cats, so I’d do best in a home without them. Potty training is coming along, but I’ll need a little encouragement on those chilly days! I do bark at strangers outside the home and might need gentle reassurance around loud noises like fireworks. When my foster family is away, I stay in my kennel, though I sometimes get a little whiny if they’re home and I’m in there. I just want to be near them! My favorite things? Following my foster mom everywhere, chewing on bully sticks, and playing fetch. I’ll need a home with a fenced yard since I can be a bit of an escape artist, especially when I’m in the mood to chase after something. Welcome Tommy to CCPAL Rescue. Tommy is a 1-year-old Cairn Terrier mix with maybe Schnauzer. He is very low energy and a little shy. His teeth are really white and clean as his adult teeth are just now coming in. He is the ultimate lap dog and weighs about 10 pounds. He is very content being held and is shy but bonds deeply. He came from a homeless person that had about 6 dogs. The homeless person had rescued all as strays. A good Samaritan stepped up to help and called CCPAL Rescue. CCPAL took in all the homeless person’s dogs except one she wanted to keep. We will be vaccinating them and spaying them to get them ready for their forever home. This boy is not a shedding dog and is very very affectionate. He would be fine around kids but I think her best home would be with a home that someone wants a lap dog and a quieter home. He would be a great one person dog. He will be great company and will not require too much exercise. A small condo type yard would work for him. He is good in a crate and with other dogs. He is more vocal than his sister Merry. He is currently in Texas and can be adopted locally or we can work with one of the wonderful transporters to get him to Washington, Portland (Oregon), Minnesota, Vermont or all along the East Coast. His adoption fee is 400 and transportation fee is $200.
