Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Online Adoption Application I am that guy, you know the one that just steals your heart even though he may have a few imperfections.  I am approximately 5 years old and the vet listed my breed as a Cairn Terrier.  I currently weigh 14 lbs.   My life was not always easy, but that changed the minute I was rescued and placed with my foster family.  I was so scared and it took me a few days to decompress and learn to trust, but I am one happy guy now.   The neglect I had endured resulted in me losing an eye, but it does not slow me down.  I am like most other dogs, I love to play, I love to curl up with my human and I am very loyal, but I still have some anxiety around little people.  My ideal home would be one that does not have young children and someone that is home with me a lot.  I ride in the car with no problem and I get along with other animals. I will walk on a leash, however I need someone that will work with me on building my confidence so I am not afraid.  I am not completely housebroken but I am doing very well with going outside.  If you want further information on me, go to Animaladvocatesfl.org and put in an application to adopt.  I promise you will fall in love.    Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.December 17, 2024, 4:58 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thor came to PRBJ from an overcrowded shelter in Georgia. He is a sweet boy but takes a minute to warm up to strangers. He does not like you moving quickly at him or attempting to pick him up right away. As he is a bit reserved and timid, Thor is best in an adult only home.  After warming up, he likes to be cuddled. He is fantastic on car rides, and he is crate and house broken.  He is good with other dogs and another dog in the home for him to model after and buddy with would be ideal.   Foster update 12.16.24     Thor is a very busy little guy with lots of energy.    He loves to play with our two larger dogs but is also learning a lot from them.   He does not always pick up on cues that they have had enough!     He is definitely learning though and they run around with each other, play with toys together and roughhouse.     He does like tennis balls and runs around with them outside.    He does like to explore in the yard and pick things up so it is good to have him holding the ball so he doesn't get into anything!   He is a very curious little guy and also likes playing peek a boo around the tree with squirrels.     He is still working on full house training.    He is mostly trained but he does need to be under supervision or he tends to mark.    He sleeps in his crate and can make it all night but he will whine if he can't make it.    He does not like to be "grabbed" at and being picked up is something best left until he is familiar with someone.     He is good on leash.    He can be very underfoot - both inside and outside as he is very quick and also very low to the ground. Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.December 16, 2024, 7:51 pm
