Story
- - - - -Before being rescued, many of our dogs have had limited socialization, so they may need a bit of time to adjust to life as a family pet. Older kids are often a great fit for our dogs, and homes with younger children will be considered based on each dog`s individual needs. Skills like house training and leash walking may take a little extra patience and practice. However, with understanding and a gentle hand, most of these dogs adapt quite quickly. Being a part of their rehabilitation is a truly rewarding experience. To learn more about mill dogs and start the adoption process, visit our website!

Story
Lucas is an absolute love bug, he loves cuddling, sitting on your lap, and being center of attention. He loves racquet balls and any type of balls, he loves stuffed animals specially the ones with the squeaker. He is leash trained and has been since he was a puppy, however, he will still bark at everything and everyone. He needs to be the ONLY dog, we do have another dog, and they get along to a point, but tends to be aggressive towards him and wants to fight. Lucas does NOT do well with small children at all. We adopted him when my children were teenagers, so he has never been around little children until my grandbaby was born. My grandbaby is now 1 1/2 yrs. old and Lucas does not do well, he gets too scared, and his behavior is unpredictable. I am not willing to put my grandbaby in harm's way nor do I want to have Lucas be constantly anxious. Lucas does not do well with strangers; he is very frightened and takes a while to warm up to them. He is afraid of fireworks and the thunder.
