5 ½ month old Sokka is a mix of Whippet and Retriever. He's a handsome fella who won't be a huge boy when mature; in fact, he'll be about 45 pounds. Sokka is named after a fictional character, but there's nothing pretend about our boy. Take a close look at his pictures, at his eyes, and you'll see shyness there. But it's a shyness that is easily tempered by time, understanding, and a stroking of his fine and long coat. He does love this as much as he enjoys playing with his friends. No, there's nothing imagined here. If you take Sokka home with you, you'll see as he comes out of his shell to become yours. This rare Southern beauty is a Whippet mix and she is named Miss Emma Kate. She is a delicately built 1 year old girl that weighs a light 19 pounds and is beautifully marked with a rich brindle coat of short fur. Car rides are her fav thing to go on and she rides like she has done it all her life. This baby girl is a true cuddler and loves to be around people. She is very good on a leash and is crate trained with no fussing. Emma Kate a very smart girl that is always willing to learn things and to be taught all sorts of commands. She uses the doggie door at her foster home, and mover makes a mess in the house. She is easy going with all the dogs in the foster home and doesn’t make any mess in the house. She is iffy with cats so we are saying that would be a NO. She is spayed , up-to-date on all vaccinations microchip and heartworm negative and has prevention. DEXTER was saved and cared for by Muscat Dog Adoption, before sending him with other saved dogs to Give a Dog a Home Rescue in Sebec, Maine. They arrived in the US on 28th January 2025 and were transported to the rescue where they are settling in. DEXTER was cleared by the US canine center for diseases upon entry into the US. He is neutered, rabies, core vaccines, heartworm and tick tested negative, is on monthly preventatives, microchipped, weighs around 34 pounds and has an estimated date of birth or 16 September 2022. DEXTER's story is that he was rescued in January 2023 with his sister as young pups in a high traffic area around a lot of hotel complex's where dogs are not welcome and often shot or run over. They were taken to Muscat Dog Adoption Rescue where they were cared for until homes or transfer to another rescue was found. His sister was adopted and Dexter was lucky enough to come over to the US for his forever family to find him. Stray dogs in Oman are referred to as "Wadi Dogs" and are a mix of the popular sighthound breeds, specifically thought to be descendents of the majestic Saluki and other smaller breeds, many resembling whippets with their small agile frames. If not saved these dogs are often shot or brutally ran over and left for dead. We are looking for families that have the lifestyle that the dog needs to lead a healthy, both mentally and physically life, who can afford a GOOD quality food, toys and treats and understand the importance of veterinary wellness checks. DEXTER is available for adoption for an adoption fee of $300, as noted he is located at the rescue in Sebec, Maine and families are required to complete and submit an adoption application and when approved schedule an appointment to come to the rescue to meet and hopefully take home this sweet boy.
