Meet Hermione – A Loving Survivor Ready to Wiggle Her Way Into Your Heart!
Hermione, a 5-year-old Whippet/Greyhound mix, is looking for her forever home after overcoming incredible odds. Fully grown at 39 pounds, she boasts a gorgeous white, gray, and silver coat and a face that's as enchanting as her gentle soul.
Hermione’s journey to Home for Good Dog Rescue began in Swainsboro, Georgia, where she was abandoned at a kill shelter and battling severe heartworm disease. She was scheduled for euthanasia when her life took a turn for the better. With the help of Home for Good Dog Rescue and dedicated veterinarians, she received the life-saving care she desperately needed. Her treatment included extensive medical attention to address the damage caused by the heartworms, and today, Hermione is thriving and ready for her happily ever after.
About Hermione:
Hermione is not just sweet—she’s a total lovebug! Her whole body wiggles with joy when she sees her favorite humans, and she adores being comfy, whether it’s snuggling on the couch or lounging in her bed. She’s loving, submissive, and eager to please, thriving on affection and kindness.
She walks beautifully on a leash and enjoys exploring the world around her. Hermione gets along well with other dogs who share her calm temperament and would thrive in a home with relaxed canine companions. She also does well with children and cats, making her a fantastic match for many families. She is housebroken and sleeps peacefully through the night on a dog bed without a peep.
What Hermione Needs:
While Hermione’s previous illness doesn’t hinder her joyful personality, she will require an adopter committed to her ongoing care. She is currently on medication and will likely remain on medication for the rest of her life to support her health. Her forever family must be prepared to monitor her condition and ensure she continues to thrive.

Hermione is spayed, up-to-date on age-appropriate vaccinations, and microchipped.
Given the conditions Hermione originated from, upon rescue, she tested positive for Heartworm disease. Thanks to Home for Good Dog Rescue, Hermione has undergone her Heartworm treatment.
*Heartworm disease is a serious and if left untreated, fatal disease. It is caused by foot-long worms (heartworms) that live in the heart, lungs, and associated blood vessels of affected animals, causing severe lung disease, heart failure, and damage to other organs in the body. Mosquitoes are carriers of heartworms and have the ability to infect dogs all year round, especially in the Southeastern portion of the United States and during the summer months.*

HFG Dog Rescue is a 100 percent foster-based rescue located in Berkeley Heights, NJ with a sister location, The Almost Home Wellness Center, in Aiken, SC. All of our dogs are rescued from kill shelters in SC + GA and once ready for adoption live in loving local NJ foster homes until they find forever families of their own. Our fosters begin basic training, housebreaking, and leash-walking skills to help pair you with the perfect pup for life!
