Story
This handsome boy was born the first of March to a young and small mama dog that weighed 35 lb. There were eight in the litter and they are all beautiful and sweet but they had to raise themselves. The small farm that they were born on had a young man that stayed on the road doing his music. He had no time for puppies. Fortunately, a very devoted rescue woman who knew of their plight contacted Critter Cavalry and we have been in search of wonderful homes for this litter. Mr Buck is a handsome 9-month-old born the first of March that weighs 28 lbs. Buck would be best suited for a family with another dog to play with everyday, and children that are 12+ A fenced yard is a must!!!! He is housebroken and crate trained. Buckis full of spunk and vigor but yet  love and cuddles. He wants nothing more than to be a part of your life and invite you to make him a part of yours. He is  crate trained and leash trained. He gets along famously with older children, other dogs and any adults that he meets. He's not a shy boy, although he has not experienced a lot in life. He still embraces every new thing that comes his way with enthusiasm and interest. He's going to be about a 30 to 35 lb adult boy that is a perfect size for hiking, jogging, condo or apartment lifestyle or even a home with a fenced yard. He is a whippet/ lab mix that will turn heads with his sleek good looks and athletic body. His very handsome face often has a very serious and investigative look on it as he surveys the world and the things that are happening. He often will wear a sweet smile as he enjoys an encounter and conversation with a kind human that is giving him their time and attention. This boy will be an absolute treasure to have in your life. If you're interested in considering an adoption, please write to Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrnewengland@gmail.com.   PLEASE NOTE:   Our dogs and cats are fostered in Tennessee and can transport weekly up to the Northeast region.  Request an application and learn more about Critter Cavalry at https://www.crittercavalry.com/adoption.November 27, 2024, 10:40 pm

Story
This is Val, a pretty and sweet girl that came to PK from another rescue. We think that Val is a Whippet and Labrador Retriever mix, but who really knows? We just think she is an interesting, one-of-a-kind mix! Val is 1½ years old and is a nice, petite size at only 30 lbs. We are still learning about Val’s personality, but we know she is friendly, enjoys walks, and likes to receive pets and cuddles from her volunteer friends. Val is open to meeting other dogs if you have them in your home and can be kitty tested upon request. We believe that Val would be fine in a home with children. Apply for Val at lvpeaceablekingdom.info. Peaceable Kingdom, PA Kennel License #04131, 1049 MacArthur Rd., Whitehall, PA 18052

Story
Meet Hermione – A Loving Survivor Ready to Wiggle Her Way Into Your Heart! Hermione, a 5-year-old Whippet/Greyhound mix, is looking for her forever home after overcoming incredible odds. Fully grown at 39 pounds, she boasts a gorgeous white, gray, and silver coat and a face that's as enchanting as her gentle soul. Hermione’s journey to Home for Good Dog Rescue began in Swainsboro, Georgia, where she was abandoned at a kill shelter and battling severe heartworm disease. She was scheduled for euthanasia when her life took a turn for the better. With the help of Home for Good Dog Rescue and dedicated veterinarians, she received the life-saving care she desperately needed. Her treatment included extensive medical attention to address the damage caused by the heartworms, and today, Hermione is thriving and ready for her happily ever after. About Hermione: Hermione is not just sweet—she’s a total lovebug! Her whole body wiggles with joy when she sees her favorite humans, and she adores being comfy, whether it’s snuggling on the couch or lounging in her bed. She’s loving, submissive, and eager to please, thriving on affection and kindness. She walks beautifully on a leash and enjoys exploring the world around her. Hermione gets along well with other dogs who share her calm temperament and would thrive in a home with relaxed canine companions. She also does well with children and cats, making her a fantastic match for many families. She is housebroken and sleeps peacefully through the night on a dog bed without a peep. What Hermione Needs: While Hermione’s previous illness doesn’t hinder her joyful personality, she will require an adopter committed to her ongoing care. She is currently on medication and will likely remain on medication for the rest of her life to support her health. Her forever family must be prepared to monitor her condition and ensure she continues to thrive. If you’re looking for a calm, loving companion who will bring endless joy and snuggles to your life, Hermione is the perfect fit. She’s ready to find her magical forever home—could it be with you? 🐾❤️ Hermione is spayed, up-to-date on age-appropriate vaccinations, and microchipped. Given the conditions Hermione originated from, upon rescue, she tested positive for Heartworm disease. Thanks to Home for Good Dog Rescue, Hermione has undergone her Heartworm treatment. *Heartworm disease is a serious and if left untreated, fatal disease. It is caused by foot-long worms (heartworms) that live in the heart, lungs, and associated blood vessels of affected animals, causing severe lung disease, heart failure, and damage to other organs in the body. Mosquitoes are carriers of heartworms and have the ability to infect dogs all year round, especially in the Southeastern portion of the United States and during the summer months.* **Please note: completing an "adoption inquiry" via Adopt-a-pet/Petfinder does not constitute an HFG Dog Rescue adoption application. All adoption applications must be completed on www.hfgdr.org** HFG Dog Rescue is a 100 percent foster-based rescue located in Berkeley Heights, NJ with a sister location, The Almost Home Wellness Center, in Aiken, SC. All of our dogs are rescued from kill shelters in SC + GA and once ready for adoption live in loving local NJ foster homes until they find forever families of their own. Our fosters begin basic training, housebreaking, and leash-walking skills to help pair you with the perfect pup for life! In order to apply for adoption and set up an individual meet and greet with one of our dogs, please visit us at www.hfgdr.org. Find us on Facebook at www.facebook.com/HomeForGoodDogRescue.

Story
Hello! My name is Kolo, and I'm an energetic 4-year-old Indian pariah dog. I was rescued from the streets of India as a puppy and got adopted in New Jersey. Sadly, my family is not able to care for me any longer so I'm looking for a forever home where I can live rest of my life and share all my love. Here are some things you should know about me: Energetic and Active: I love daily long walks and need plenty of exercise to keep me happy and healthy. High Prey Drive: It's best to keep me in a fenced yard to ensure I don't get into any trouble chasing after small animals. So, I cannot be around small animals in the house. Smart and Trained: I know a variety of commands and am crate trained, so I'm already ahead of the game! Sensitive Soul: Due to my early life experiences, I'm very fearful of new people and other dogs. I do best as the only dog in the house. Great with Older Kids: I get along well with older children who can respect my boundaries and understand my needs. Needs a Strong Leader: I'm looking for a strong, experienced dog owner who can continue my training and help me build my confidence every day. If you think you can provide the loving, structured home I need, please contact Rescuewithoutborders@gmail.com for an adoption application. I can't wait to meet my new family and start our adventures together!
