Story
Fanny is a sweet girl with stunning green eyes (!) and a sweet nature. As a 6-month-old puppy, she learns quickly, motivated by kind words and some treats. She is a bundle of pure joy, ready to find her own person! Her mom, with her 8 newborn babies, was found in a park by a shelter volunteer who brought her to SOS El Arca Animal Rescue. Fanny grew up at the shelter and we would love to bring her to New York in January, which is only possible if we find an adopter or foster-to-adopt person. The shelter is overwhelmed with dogs and we need this beautiful baby to have the life she deserves, not one living in a kennel for months and months. Fanny is a happy and playful little girl, a typical puppy who is energetic and mischievous. However, with training she will develop into a beautiful dog. Her potty training has begun and will require work from the adopter; crate-training and routine will assist greatly with this. Fanny is very easygoing pup, gets along well with other dogs, and loves playing with them. She is good with cats also. We at SOS Animal Welfare believe in the benefits of post-adoption training for our dogs and their families. This allows for continued socialization, learning, and helps to create a well-mannered and balanced dog. This is now a requirement in our adoption process. Proof of training classes for puppies specifically is required before adoption. Fanny is UTD on vaccinations, microchipped, spayed, dewormed, Heart worm (4dx snap) tested, and arrive with a health certificate. She comes to her adopter/foster with a harness, a collar, and two leashes for safety. If you feel you would be the right fit for Fanny, please fill out an adoption application or email: sosanimalwelfare@gmail.com if you have any questions. We will happily get back to you!

Story
Birgit is adorable and curious girl who loves giving kisses! As a 7-month-old pup, Birgit has a lot of energy and enjoys playing with other dogs and going on walks. Her skills walking on leash need some improvement. This beautiful girl was found as a puppy roaming around a busy road, fortunately a concerned tourist brought her to the shelter SOS el Arca Animal Rescue where she received love and care. Birgit is good with children, and friendly with dogs and cats. This sweet girl is also well-behaved when meeting new people, but she is shy at first and needs some encouragement with treats and time to feel comfortable. She is food motivated so training process should be easy. If you enjoy going for long walks and want a constant companion by your side—this is the dog for you! Once adopted we require all adopters to sign up for a group training puppy class so he can learn the rules of life. This allows for continued socialization and learning and helps to create a well-mannered and well-balanced dog. Birgit is up to date on all vaccinations, spayed, dewormed and microchipped. Birgit, has a chance to come to New York on January 11th if we find adopter or foster for this beautiful girl! Interested in this sweet love bug? Please visit our website to fill out adoption application or email us at sosanimalwelfare@gmail.com and we will happily get back to you. Birgit is ready and waiting for some belly rubs!

Diana is a beautiful and innocent girl who grew up in the shelter and hopes that one day she will have her forever home. Story
**He is currently in Seattle** Mukgoo is about 5 years old. He was found near an army base in Korea and immigrated to America around the age of 1 on President’s Day of 2020. He is an incredibly smart and lovable dog. He is kind and loves people (loves dogs and people). He will eat almost anything (except veggies). He can be a jumper when he gets very excited. He prefers households with another dog and a big yard to run around in but it’s not a non-negotiable. He has always adjusted well to whatever the circumstance. Overall, he’s a good dog and he’s got a lot of love to give. I’m having to give him up due to being unable to raise him in my current life stage. In no way, this is due to any bad behaviors or anything. He’s a really kind-hearted and sweet dog. Likes - He loves playing fetch (quickest way to his heart), rolling in the grass, puppycinos, ice cream, snow, people, dogs - Historically has liked lamb, fish skin, salmon, bully sticks, dental sticks, sweet potato, etc. In general, he loves to eat~ - Very social and prefers to greet other dogs and people, including dog parks, doggy day cares Dislikes - He dislikes bath but who does - He doesn’t like being alone but can manage a few hours if needed - No longer is a fan of veggies - Fireworks and big noises Things to Watch out for - Throwing up: If you let him freely eat grass, he’ll throw up. When he feels stressed, he can react by throwing up. - He can be independent when he is fixated on things. Just be patient with him and he will come back to focus on you. He is a people pleaser. - He rarely barks. He may bark when other dogs bark but even that is rare. He is more of a whiner. If he needs to let you know something, he will whine. - Not a counter surfer but can be if you let him Commands He knows his basic commands (sit, down, hand, etc.) and is open to learning new ones as well. Potty He is used to peeing and pooing outside. Once you create a regular spot and time for him, it’s clockwork. Otherwise, just be aware when he whines that it may be time to go. - At a high level, he knows “go potty” and “go poo” as a sign to go to the bathroom - He will rarely go pee or poo inside the home. Once in a million tries, a thing like that can happen during the night but he’s really sorry when he does. Leash He has never been fully off-leash, only in areas that condone it (home, backyard, dog park, etc.). He is not one to go off-leash and run away. He’ll run around and try to have you play with him. Keep him on a short leash if you need to focus on walking as he can veer away due to his interest in sniffing. Once on a short leash, he’ll understand and walk along. However, give him time to sniff as he is very curious with smells. Sleep He can sleep together or on his own if you’re in a different room or floor. He is also loves to cuddle up as well. When there’s fireworks, it’s recommended you sleep where he sees you because he’s afraid of the loud sounds. Food He is on one meal a day. If you give him two meals a day, he may not eat the first meal. Snacks though he loves. He knows how to sit and wait for food. He is currently on Costco’s salmon and sweet potato meal.

Story
Meet Hyunmi💕 (It means brown rice in Korean) * With People: Is friendly with people, but a little shy! Will wag his tail in greeting, but is surprised if you try to touch him too quickly. When you pick him up, he's happy to be picked up, and he'll sit back and relax with his tail wagging. Recently, he looks like being accustomed to human touch. Shows his belly when people approach. * With Dogs: Is a coward who stares at strange dogs from a distance rather than approaching them. Gets along well with other dogs and loves to lie down and play with his close friends! Enjoys playing together actively with the dog at the temporary shelter. * Separation Anxiety: Not confirmed since he resides with other dogs at our center. * Potty Training: Mostly does his potty outside, but goes potty indoors once or twice! * Hygiene: Takes both baths and grooming very well. * Walks: Has a fear of being on the leash, so he is undergoing special training. * Car sickness: Doesn't have a big problem with short car rides! 💟 Special Notes💟 * Has mastered "sit," "lie down," "wait," and "turn around." * Is somewhat timid and may squeal when startled by rough play. Is afraid of sudden loud noises. Foster's IG : @adogs_hyunme

Story
Meet White🧡 He spent his time at a dog slaughter house in South Korea, watching his friends being killed while fearing his turn comes soon. The slaughter house was shut down thanks to Adogs and he was rescued. * With People: Has a shy personality. With a bit of time, he accepts treats placed on the hand and follows people around! * With Dogs: Is a little indifferent towards other dogs. Is not the type to approach or to show interests in other dogs first. * Separation Anxiety: It is unknown since he is staying in a group at the Center. * Potty Training: Uses outdoor potty at the Center. * Walks: Likes going for walks. Pulls on the leash when he encounters other animals, so he’s undergoing training for this. Sometimes he gets surprised and barks when he sees large dogs. * Car Sickness: Has a mild car sickness, drooling a little and moving a while.
