Story
Hello! My name is Kolo, and I'm an energetic 4-year-old Indian pariah dog. I was rescued from the streets of India as a puppy and got adopted in New Jersey. Sadly, my family is not able to care for me any longer so I'm looking for a forever home where I can live rest of my life and share all my love. Here are some things you should know about me: Energetic and Active: I love daily long walks and need plenty of exercise to keep me happy and healthy. High Prey Drive: It's best to keep me in a fenced yard to ensure I don't get into any trouble chasing after small animals. So, I cannot be around small animals in the house. Smart and Trained: I know a variety of commands and am crate trained, so I'm already ahead of the game! Sensitive Soul: Due to my early life experiences, I'm very fearful of new people and other dogs. I do best as the only dog in the house. Great with Older Kids: I get along well with older children who can respect my boundaries and understand my needs. Needs a Strong Leader: I'm looking for a strong, experienced dog owner who can continue my training and help me build my confidence every day. If you think you can provide the loving, structured home I need, please contact Rescuewithoutborders@gmail.com for an adoption application. I can't wait to meet my new family and start our adventures together!

Story
Aloha! My name is Makue (Mah-ku-eh), and I come all the way from Kauai, where I was found as a stray and brought to the Kauai Humane Society. Some nice people helped get me transported to PupStarz Rescue in New York so I would have a better chance at finding a forever home. I am 1 year 8 month old, 50 pounds wonderful Whippet/ Pit Bull/ Pointer mix dog with the most beautiful coat and mesmerizing eyes. I love humans and will immediately try to sit on your lap and snuggle against you at first meeting. I get along well with my two foster dog sisters and follow their lead but I would love to be an only dog too, because I LOVE human attention and am a velcro dog. I want to be attached to my foster mom at all times and love to cuddle. While I do get along with most dogs, I wouldn't be a good fit in a home with small dogs or cats. I'm not food aggressive at all, and am fine with humans touching me and brushing my teeth. I'm mostly housetrained, but I don't know how to "ask" to go outside yet, but if you have a pee pad inside, I will use it. I need work on my leash walking because I get too excited and will pull, but I'm getting better at it! I can't wait to meet my new forever family. Are you my person? If so, I will love you unconditionally and give you so much affection. Please adopt me! Story
Meet Hermione – A Loving Survivor Ready to Wiggle Her Way Into Your Heart! Hermione, a 5-year-old Whippet/Greyhound mix, is looking for her forever home after overcoming incredible odds. Fully grown at 39 pounds, she boasts a gorgeous white, gray, and silver coat and a face that's as enchanting as her gentle soul. Hermione’s journey to Home for Good Dog Rescue began in Swainsboro, Georgia, where she was abandoned at a kill shelter and battling severe heartworm disease. She was scheduled for euthanasia when her life took a turn for the better. With the help of Home for Good Dog Rescue and dedicated veterinarians, she received the life-saving care she desperately needed. Her treatment included extensive medical attention to address the damage caused by the heartworms, and today, Hermione is thriving and ready for her happily ever after. About Hermione: Hermione is not just sweet—she’s a total lovebug! Her whole body wiggles with joy when she sees her favorite humans, and she adores being comfy, whether it’s snuggling on the couch or lounging in her bed. She’s loving, submissive, and eager to please, thriving on affection and kindness. She walks beautifully on a leash and enjoys exploring the world around her. Hermione gets along well with other dogs who share her calm temperament and would thrive in a home with relaxed canine companions. She also does well with children and cats, making her a fantastic match for many families. She is housebroken and sleeps peacefully through the night on a dog bed without a peep. What Hermione Needs: While Hermione’s previous illness doesn’t hinder her joyful personality, she will require an adopter committed to her ongoing care. She is currently on medication and will likely remain on medication for the rest of her life to support her health. Her forever family must be prepared to monitor her condition and ensure she continues to thrive. If you’re looking for a calm, loving companion who will bring endless joy and snuggles to your life, Hermione is the perfect fit. She’s ready to find her magical forever home—could it be with you? 🐾❤️ Hermione is spayed, up-to-date on age-appropriate vaccinations, and microchipped. Given the conditions Hermione originated from, upon rescue, she tested positive for Heartworm disease. Thanks to Home for Good Dog Rescue, Hermione has undergone her Heartworm treatment. *Heartworm disease is a serious and if left untreated, fatal disease. It is caused by foot-long worms (heartworms) that live in the heart, lungs, and associated blood vessels of affected animals, causing severe lung disease, heart failure, and damage to other organs in the body. Mosquitoes are carriers of heartworms and have the ability to infect dogs all year round, especially in the Southeastern portion of the United States and during the summer months.* **Please note: completing an "adoption inquiry" via Adopt-a-pet/Petfinder does not constitute an HFG Dog Rescue adoption application. All adoption applications must be completed on www.hfgdr.org** HFG Dog Rescue is a 100 percent foster-based rescue located in Berkeley Heights, NJ with a sister location, The Almost Home Wellness Center, in Aiken, SC. All of our dogs are rescued from kill shelters in SC + GA and once ready for adoption live in loving local NJ foster homes until they find forever families of their own. Our fosters begin basic training, housebreaking, and leash-walking skills to help pair you with the perfect pup for life! In order to apply for adoption and set up an individual meet and greet with one of our dogs, please visit us at www.hfgdr.org. Find us on Facebook at www.facebook.com/HomeForGoodDogRescue.

Story
Killian is a 10-month-old, sweet, happy, and playful boy. He is a typical puppy who is energetic and mischievous, but with training he will develop into a beautiful dog. His potty training has begun and will require work from the adopter. Crate training and routine will assist greatly with this. He is shy at first, but with gentle engagement and treats he opens up quickly! He would greatly benefit from being in a house with another dog who he can learn from and gain confidence. Killian was rescued with his mom and 8 siblings, so he grew up at the shelter and is now ready for the next chapter with a loving home. His brother Buju just got adopted, so it’s time for Killian to follow in his brother’s footsteps. Killian has a chance to come to New York on a transport scheduled for mid November. He is available for direct adoption or foster-to-adopt. Could you open your heart and home to this beautiful boy? Killian is up to date on all vaccinations, neutered, and microchipped. His current weight is 18 lbs and he will continue to grow a little more. If you feel you would be the right fit for Killian, please fill out an adoption application at www.sosanimalwelfare.org, or email us for more info: sosanimalwelfare@gmail.com We will happily get back to you!

Story
Fanny is a sweet girl with stunning green eyes (!) and a sweet nature. As a 6-month-old puppy, she learns quickly, motivated by kind words and some treats. She is a bundle of pure joy, ready to find her own person! Her mom, with her 8 newborn babies, was found in a park by a shelter volunteer who brought her to SOS El Arca Animal Rescue. Fanny grew up at the shelter and we would love to bring her to New York in January, which is only possible if we find an adopter or foster-to-adopt person. The shelter is overwhelmed with dogs and we need this beautiful baby to have the life she deserves, not one living in a kennel for months and months. Fanny is a happy and playful little girl, a typical puppy who is energetic and mischievous. However, with training she will develop into a beautiful dog. Her potty training has begun and will require work from the adopter; crate-training and routine will assist greatly with this. Fanny is very easygoing pup, gets along well with other dogs, and loves playing with them. She is good with cats also. We at SOS Animal Welfare believe in the benefits of post-adoption training for our dogs and their families. This allows for continued socialization, learning, and helps to create a well-mannered and balanced dog. This is now a requirement in our adoption process. Proof of training classes for puppies specifically is required before adoption. Fanny is UTD on vaccinations, microchipped, spayed, dewormed, Heart worm (4dx snap) tested, and arrive with a health certificate. She comes to her adopter/foster with a harness, a collar, and two leashes for safety. If you feel you would be the right fit for Fanny, please fill out an adoption application or email: sosanimalwelfare@gmail.com if you have any questions. We will happily get back to you!

Story
My siblings and I were found on the streets of Mexico with our beautiful mother who was running around probably looking for food. A kind man who saw her with her babies collected us and brought us to the shelter and safety. There we were taken care of and loved by the shelter workers. Babe, 6 months old puppy, is looking for her forever home where she will be loved and cherished for the rest of her life. Babe grew up at the shelter and we would love to bring her to New York in January, which is only possible if we find an adopter or foster-to-adopt person. She is a good girl with lots of (still) puppy energy so her ideal home would be one with a fenced in backyard, with or without another dog and children 6+. Adopters who would love a dog to go on adventures with and are willing to make sure this little girl gets the training she needs would be ideal for her. She is food motivated, clever and loving, we believe this will assist any family in achieving her future potential. Babe is up to date on all vaccinations, neutered and microchipped. She is available for a direct adoption or foster-to-adopt from Mexico. Once adopted he will go directly to adopter/foster. If you feel you would be the right fit for Babe, please fill out an adoption application at www.sosanimalwelfare.org or email us at sosanimalwelfare@gmail.com
