This sweet skinny girl was abandoned locally, looking like she recently had puppies. She's a friendly social butterfly, has been very playful meeting people and other dogs. We think she's about 4-5 years old and the perfect size at about 40lbs once she fills out a little. We aren't quite sure of her breed mix but she looks a bit like an oversized jack russell, with some cattle dog, pointer, or sighthound mixed in and a short bent tail. She will be a fun companion for an active family and loves making new friends. Birgit is adorable and curious girl who loves giving kisses! As a 8-month-old pup, Birgit has a lot of energy and enjoys playing with other dogs and going on walks. Her skills walking on leash need some improvement. This beautiful girl was found as a puppy roaming around a busy road, fortunately a concerned tourist brought her to the shelter SOS el Arca Animal Rescue where she received love and care. Birgit is good with children, and friendly with dogs and cats. This sweet girl is also well-behaved when meeting new people, but she is shy at first and needs some encouragement with treats and time to feel comfortable. She is food motivated so training process should be easy. If you enjoy going for long walks and want a constant companion by your side—this is the dog for you! Once adopted we require all adopters to sign up for a group training puppy class so he can learn the rules of life. This allows for continued socialization and learning and helps to create a well-mannered and well-balanced dog. Birgit is up to date on all vaccinations, spayed, dewormed and microchipped. She is a perfect mix—we believe she has some Whippet and some German Shepherd, not only because of her looks but because she is very smart and easily trainable. She is a sweet, affectionate, and goofy little pup who is always ready for a walk. She loves everyone—kids, dogs, and anyone she meets on her walks. She will be your best friend in no time! Keicy was found on the street as a puppy by a Good Samaritan who brought her to SOS El Arca Animal Rescue, where she was raised with love and care. She is now ready to be scooped up by her own people! She is being fostered with a family with 2 kids, in Queen, New York. She is great with other dogs, very friendly and playful with them, so she could easily join a household with another dog or be a single dog. Meet a true Princess—elegant Dana! She’s an 18-month-old, 35-lb bundle of love that you just want to hug! Her sweet, gentle, and graceful nature is hard to resist. She is great with children, naturally kind and sweet with them. She also gets along with other dogs and cats as well. She is a super playful little girl who loves to roll over for belly rubs!! Dana is in rescue because, sadly, she was abandoned by her owners, who moved and left her behind. Fortunately, our rescue was able to take her in and assure her that she will never be abandoned again! She is being fostered with two pups and a cat in Manhattan. She’s adapted to the city very quickly, and comes daily to her foster mom’s office where she greats everybody with a wagging tail. She loves going for walks and play in a doggy run in Madison Sq Park. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. DEXTER was saved and cared for by Muscat Dog Adoption, before sending him with other saved dogs to Give a Dog a Home Rescue in Sebec, Maine. They arrived in the US on 28th January 2025 and were transported to the rescue where they are settling in. DEXTER was cleared by the US canine center for diseases upon entry into the US. He is neutered, rabies, core vaccines, heartworm and tick tested negative, is on monthly preventatives, microchipped, weighs around 34 pounds and has an estimated date of birth or 16 September 2022. DEXTER's story is that he was rescued in January 2023 with his sister as young pups in a high traffic area around a lot of hotel complex's where dogs are not welcome and often shot or run over. They were taken to Muscat Dog Adoption Rescue where they were cared for until homes or transfer to another rescue was found. His sister was adopted and Dexter was lucky enough to come over to the US for his forever family to find him. Stray dogs in Oman are referred to as "Wadi Dogs" and are a mix of the popular sighthound breeds, specifically thought to be descendents of the majestic Saluki and other smaller breeds, many resembling whippets with their small agile frames. If not saved these dogs are often shot or brutally ran over and left for dead. We are looking for families that have the lifestyle that the dog needs to lead a healthy, both mentally and physically life, who can afford a GOOD quality food, toys and treats and understand the importance of veterinary wellness checks. DEXTER is available for adoption for an adoption fee of $150, as noted he is located at the rescue in Sebec, Maine and families are required to complete and submit an adoption application and when approved schedule an appointment to come to the rescue to meet and hopefully take home this sweet boy. Applications are processed with 24 hours of them being received.
