Story
This handsome boy was born the first of March to a young and small mama dog that weighed 35 lb. There were eight in the litter and they are all beautiful and sweet but they had to raise themselves. The small farm that they were born on had a young man that stayed on the road doing his music. He had no time for puppies. Fortunately, a very devoted rescue woman who knew of their plight contacted Critter Cavalry and we have been in search of wonderful homes for this litter. Mr Buck is a handsome 9-month-old born the first of March that weighs 28 lbs. Buck would be best suited for a family with another dog to play with everyday, and children that are 12+ A fenced yard is a must!!!! He is housebroken and crate trained. Buckis full of spunk and vigor but yet  love and cuddles. He wants nothing more than to be a part of your life and invite you to make him a part of yours. He is  crate trained and leash trained. He gets along famously with older children, other dogs and any adults that he meets. He's not a shy boy, although he has not experienced a lot in life. He still embraces every new thing that comes his way with enthusiasm and interest. He's going to be about a 30 to 35 lb adult boy that is a perfect size for hiking, jogging, condo or apartment lifestyle or even a home with a fenced yard. He is a whippet/ lab mix that will turn heads with his sleek good looks and athletic body. His very handsome face often has a very serious and investigative look on it as he surveys the world and the things that are happening. He often will wear a sweet smile as he enjoys an encounter and conversation with a kind human that is giving him their time and attention. This boy will be an absolute treasure to have in your life. Introducing Niabi, the spirited whirlwind of energy and love that's bound to fill your home with laughter and joy! This energetic Whippet mix is a true crackhead foster, always ready to embrace life with boundless enthusiasm. Niabi has mastered the art of kennel training and is well on her way to conquering the potty training challenge. With regular outings, she's quick to catch on and eager to please. High energy is her middle name, and she's more than ready to soak up all the love and attention you can offer. Personal space? That's a foreign concept to Niabi - she's all about being up close and personal! When she's not showering you with affection, you'll find Niabi in the backyard, where she transforms into a blur of motion, racing around with an unstoppable energy. She's also an avid water enthusiast, always up for a splashing good time with the water hose. Niabi gets along with her housemates, though she's known to give them the once-over to size them up. Supervision ensures everyone gets along swimmingly. On a leash, she's eager but pulls with exuberance, a behavior we're working on refining.Chew toys are a must in Niabi's world - she loves them durable and entertaining. And don't be surprised if she engages in solo playtime; she knows how to keep herself entertained. Niabi is versatile when it comes to her ideal home - whether you're her sole focus or you have a furry crew to keep her company, she's adaptable and ready to make your days brighter. If you're prepared for a whirlwind of affection, fun, and boundless energy, Niabi is eagerly awaiting her forever family. Story
Meet Polly; she’s from Bali! (Well, maybe. She’s from somewhere in Indonesia!) Polly was rescued from an Indonesian meat market and as you can see, she’s been settling in well to her new life in the USA. Polly is a loveable, curious, and independent girl who loves walks, running around her yard, and playing with other dogs and toys. She is a fan of puzzle toys, tug-of-war, and watching the world go by from her porch! Polly is mellow overall, but she still gets the zoomies sometimes and needs a chance to burn off some energy each day. She would be a great companion for someone who likes walking and playing engaging games with her, but she also spends a good portion of the day snoozing and quietly entertaining herself. Polly has a goofy side, too, and will jump around and “talk” from time to time! Polly is affectionate with her foster family and greets them lovingly when they get home. She likes being near her humans, but she prefers to sit next to them on the couch or at the foot of the bed rather than cuddle directly in their laps. Polly gets along well with her canine housemates, although sometimes her bouncy nature annoys smaller, older or non-playful dogs. She would be happy with another playful dog to romp around with. Polly is cautious and reserved around people and dogs she does not know, and she takes a little while to warm up, but once she knows you, she is very sweet and loves to hang out with you. Polly gets scared in places crowded with lots of people, children, and dogs, so she is not the best dog for accompanying you to places like parties, farmer’s markets, or breweries. However, she enjoys quieter, more peaceful outings, like walks in her neighborhood and hikes. Polly has made great strides settling into family life and working on training, and she would thrive with a patient, loving family that doesn’t force or rush her into situations she’s uncomfortable in. If you want a friend to keep you company and explore the world with, come meet Polly! My Profile Age and weight: I'm 1 year old and weigh 40 pounds. Good with kids: Unknown Good with dogs: Some dogs Good with cats: Unknown Fenced yard: Yes Suitable for townhouse and/or apartment: No House trained: Yes. Crate trained: Yes Barks when left alone: I’ll bark when you leave, but then I’ll settle down Chews inappropriate items: Occasionally Training: I know sit, and I'm looking forward to training class to learn more! Activity level: Medium I need an experienced adopter. Meet Me If you are interested in Polly, consider letting us know by filling out a (no-obligation) adoption application at pgspca.org. Please consult our Adoption FAQ before contacting us. Please check the adoption-show-attendees page to see if Polly will be attending the next adoption show. NOTE: We are an all volunteer group and do not operate a shelter. All of our animals are in foster homes. We are unable to place our animals outside of the Baltimore/DC area.
