Little Kit Kat is only 20 pounds and fully grown. She’s about 2 years old and the CUTEST girl. Possibly a whippet. She has a fun and playful personality. She does very well with other dogs. She is just so unique looking. She is a big kisser and isn’t shy when it comes to getting to know a person. She was so excited to get outside today that she couldn’t decide if she wanted to sit in a lap and give tons of kisses or go romp in the play yard. We made sure she had plenty of time to do both. 💕 Come meet little Kit Kat at Guntersville Animal Hospital at 1609 Henry St, Guntersville. Mon-Fri 7:30-5:30 and Sat 7:30-12. Big Al arrived at the rescue with three of his best puppy friends just in time for college football season! On the first weekend our favorite SEC teams took the field once again, our newest friends settled into their foster home with the sounds of Gameday playing in the background. Needless to say, Big Al was named in honor of Alabama football. True to his (elephant) namesake, Big Al is a sweet and laidback little dude. He even has the ears to match. Big Al is just around 4-months-old and so cute it hurts. Your guess is as good as ours when it comes to his mix of breeds, but we do know that his long and large feet most resemble those of a greyhound or whippet. At the end of the day, all we can confidently say is that Big Al is 100% good boy—and that’s good enough for us! This #1 fan is up-to-date on his vaccines, microchipped, dewormed, comes with a spay/neuter voucher, and is more than ready to join your family.

UPDATE!! This sweet girl is Genie! Sadly, Genie has grown up in foster care and never had a family of her own. Genie came to us at around 8 weeks when her and her siblings were found dumped off a dirt road. She’s now pushing 1 year and is still looking for her forever home. Genie is a wonderful girl and there’s no reason she shouldn’t have her own family. She’s great with all size dogs. She loves kids and is happy all time. She’s a gorgeous black lab mix and weighs around 40 lbs. Genie is utd, hw neg (tested below detectable levels) and is spayed. Our adoptions are NOT on a first come first serve basis and there is no fee to apply! We never state any animal is fully House-trained. New environments, situations, families, routines, ect. can lead to accidents even with the most well trained animals.  All dogs have a $175 adoption fee which includes vet check, age appropriate shots (atleast 2 sets for puppies), dewormer, heartworm test (if over 6 months), rabies (if atleast 16 weeks) and spay/neuter! Puppies will be altered before adoption. All rescues and shelters practice pediatric spay and neuter. This is essential in our rescue efforts and it is a policy that we will stick by. All dogs over 8 weeks and 2 pounds will be altered before adoption. There are no exceptions to this rule on all healthy and adoptable dogs. We have researched and discussed in depth with multiple vets everything on pediatric spay and neuter and from a rescue stand point it must be done. Please do not ask for an extension on spay and neutering, it will NOT be granted on a healthy puppy!  Puppies/Dogs that are not available for adoption due to vetting not being complete can be reserved with an approved application and a non refundable $50 deposit. Deposits can ONLY be submitted once the rescue has been in contact on your approval and it has been requested through Wags and Whiskers. This deposit is applied to your adoption fee and the remaining $125 is due at pick up. Wags and Whiskers is an all-volunteer rescue. We also have full-time jobs and Families. We will try to answer all questions and applications in a timely manner. Please be patient and bear with us . Do not contact any of the vet clinics we work with, as they are a vet clinic and can not answer questions on behalf of Wags and Whiskers. All questions and comments must go directly through the rescue. Thank you for your understanding. UPDATE!! Meet Kiko. He was found abandoned on a dirt road with his siblings. He appears to be like black mouth cur/hound/cattle dog mix… maybe!? He is now 5-6 months old and 25-30 ish lbs. He is leggy and lean. Not a big pup at all. He is an active and playful pup. This boy loves other animals and children. He loves to romp and play outside and would be perfect for any household. He’s a little timid in new environments but opens up quick. Kiko is utd, dewormed, altered and ready for his happy ever after.
