Name: Finley Breed: Wheaten Terrier/Mini Poodle mix Weight: 30 pounds Gender: Male Spayed/neutered: Neutered  Age: 10 months Obtained From: A breeder Reason for Intake: Owner is a senior with medical conditions who is struggling to walk and exercise Finley.  They live in an adult community and are not allowed to fence their yard. Up to Date with Vetting: Yes Good with dogs: Yes.  He has not lived with another dog.  When the daughter's Havanese visits they run and play non-stop.  He also has dog friends he meets and greets on walks. Good with cats: Unknown.   Good with kids: Yes.  He has not lived with kids but has been friendly with neighbourhood kids he has met.  No experience with babies/toddlers. Good with strangers: Yes.  He barks when someone first comes to the door.  He is friendly and eager to greet them.  He may be a bit jumpy. Resource guarding issues: Not from people.  He did guard a deer antler from another dog. Ever bitten a human: No Ever bitten a dog: No Fears: None that we know of  Housetrained: Mostly yes but has a poop accident in the house about once a week and the occasional pee accident.  He goes for walks and does toilet.  Crate trained: Yes.  He is crated when they go out and leave him alone.  He is typically left alone 2-3 hours at a time.   Good in the car: Yes.  He loves the car. Bark when left alone:  He barks when they are first leaving but then is quiet Destructive: No Energy Level: Medium to high Leash skills: He walks well on leash and does not show concern with vehicles, people or dogs.  He meets and greets friendly dogs appropriately. Okay with physical handling/manipulations: Yes.  He is professionally groomed every 6-7 weeks.  He loves the groomer and other than being a bit wiggly is good with them.  He is also very friendly at the vet. Known commands: sit, stay.  They took puppy classes at Petsmart. Food on now: Performatrin kibble for puppies.  3/4 cup, 2x/day.  They also add cooked chicken, eggs, or salmon for variety. Behavioural issues: none, he's a nice dog  Medical issues: He fractured his back left leg jumping off a bench.  It was splinted and has healed well without ongoing issues.     February 16, 2025, 8:21 am
