Hi there, I’m Winston! I’m a 4.5-year-old Wheaten Terrier, and I weigh a solid 36 lbs of pure sweetness. I can be a little shy at first but once I get to know you, I’ll be your best friend for life. I’m a gentle boy who loves hanging out with other dogs, but I think a home without young kids would be best for me; they can be a bit overwhelming. If you’re looking for a gentle friend to share your life with, I could be the perfect match. Our dogs are in foster care and we do NOT have a shelter or boarding facility. AN APPLICATION MUST BE COMPLETED IN FULL AND APPROVED BEFORE A DOG CAN BE MET. This is a firm policy. Our busy volunteers are not able to respond to questions about the dog or dog meeting requests in the absence of an application. We know these dogs very well because they are in foster care. Please read the profiles of the dog(s) you are interested in prior to submitting an application. If there are specific requirements stated (ie: Fenced Yard or Canine Friend Required) these are included because they are vital to the happiness, health, safety and adoption success of that dog. We are only able to save as many dogs as we have foster homes (https://www.anewchancear.org/foster/faqs/) and resources for. We provide medical care including vaccinations, testing, deworming, spaying/neutering and microchipping before transporting our dogs. We provide all supplies, preventatives and any follow up vet care necessary while they are in foster care. These costs are high and the number of lives we can save is entirely dependent upon donations from people like you. We do not receive funding from private foundations or government sources. Amber is a 6mo old puppy (female), who is around 25lbs. She is amazing with other dogs and loves to play (check out her video). She has not been / will not be introduced to cats. She is very sweet with people as well. She knows how to sit and is housetrained. She'd be a wonderful addition to any family. She is available if the ad is still up. I’m always ready to brighten your day with my wagging tail and warm snuggles. I love everyone, you, your family, your friends and other dogs too! I already know how to "sit" and I’m working hard to learn more commands because I love making my humans happy. I love to go on walks. I’m very energetic to start but settle in as we walk. I also love belly rubs! I enjoy being in my crate so if you need to leave the house no worries I’ll just take a nap and dream of your return. Handsome Bear is a Wheaten Terrier mix who has been with us for over 1.5 years and is now about 4.5 years old. He originally came to us because his owner could no longer care for him. Bear has learned a lot of new rules, but he still needs a special home. Bear is a big boy, weighing around 65 lbs, and he won't walk on a leash. He is extremely strong and a secure fenced-in yard is essential and mandatory for him. He also needs a cat-free home, as he is NOT a fan of kitties. Bear has separation anxiety, he is used to someone being with him all the time. He would do best in a home where someone is around most of the time because he loves being close to his person. Bear will need a slow introduction to help him adjust to his new home and set him up for success. We are confident that the right home is out there, and we are patient, knowing he will find it. Until then, he is happy, safe, and content with us. If you think your home would be good for Bear – apply to adopt! All of our animals are examined by a veterinarian, given age-appropriate vaccinations, de-wormed, microchipped, spayed or neutered, heart-worm tested, and treated if necessary. Vet references and a home/family visit are required, and an adoption fee applies.
