Story
Roma is a senior Wheaten, born JUne 2015.  Roma is a people lover and is looking for a social home.  She needs someone firm, but affectionate.  She likes to cuddle and play wrestle.  She needs a fenced yard so she can stretch her legs or she would be okay with a daily walk for some exercise.  She cannot be with other female dogs, but she might do well with a calm male dog of similar size (40 lbs) or larger.  She cannot be around cats or other pets because she has a strong prey drive. Roma gets along with strangers and older kids.  She does not have experience being around young children - she loves pre-teen and up (age 12+).  She is house trained, leash trained and knows the basic commands.  She does have a tendency to bark at times, so she probably needs to be in a house and not an apartment.  She does not counter surf!  Roma does very well at vet and grooming appointments. Roma is reactive to people leaving or people hugging (because this is usually a sign that someone is leaving).  She's also reactive to windshield wipers!!  Once you're out of the house, she does not seem to experience separation anxiety.   Potential adopter should be aware that Roma takes regular medication: Thytoid tabs for Hypothyroidism, Optimmune drops for dry eyes and Cytopoint for allergies. The suggested adoption donation for Roma is $350, which includes a lifetime of free relationship-based training for any behavioral problems (not obedience training).  Muddy Paws is a 501c3 non-profit organization meaning that part of your donation MAY be TAX DEDUCTIBLE. We are a 100% volunteer rescue committed to giving animals a second chance at life. All donations go toward that mission. Adoption fees are the primary source of funding for the cost of veterinary care for our animals. In 2022 alone, we provided animal Healthcare totaling over $399,000 covered mainly through adoption fees. Please Note:  A Courtesy Post designates that an animal is still in the home of its owner and not in a Muddy Paws foster. This means that our exposure to the animal is limited since we are only assisting the owner in finding a new home for their pet. From time to time, owners find a new furever home for their pets outside of Muddy Paws Second Chance Rescue and there is a delay in removing them from our site. We apologize if the Courtesy Post you apply to adopt is unavailable for adoption. Information about the adoption process:  All adoptions require a completed ADOPTION APPLICATION. Once your application has completed our prescreen steps, we will put you in touch with the animal’s foster to see if you and the pet are a good match. If so, we will arrange a meeting for you and the animal. The adoptions for all of our animals will take place in the Omaha, NE area and must be done by the adoptive family in person. We do not ship or deliver. Please Note:  We are a RESCUE, which is different from a shelter. We conduct veterinary and personal reference checks, and a Home Visit (Virtual in some cases) during the application approval process. We always select the right applicant for each animal, based on the animal’s needs. If you and the animal are not a good match, we will help you select another animal, or we will keep your approved application on file for 6 months. I have found out I love to play with toys, people and other dogs! I’ve even found my voice and practice with it at playtime.th…at sure is fun! After that I like to curl up with you and watch TV and cuddle. If other animals are on the screen, I’m especially interested and super funny to watch. Other things I’m good at are sleeping all night in my play pen with my sibling! I’m hard at work on learning too…steps, manners and where good boys go potty! My foster mama says I’m a super good cuddler so I’m hoping you are too! Want to meet me, just apply at www.HavenAnimalRescueNebraks.org ADOPTION DONATION: $425 * All puppies must be inside only. Story
Meet our girl of the recent litter, Jersey! These sweet girl has had to keep up with 5 brothers and she’s done it with grace, style and fierceness! This 2 month old schnauzer mix (mama was a schnauzer and dad is an unknown) born on January8, 2025 is taking all the best life has to offer and making it better. She loves to play, is very curious and is outgoing. This makes her the perfect pup to share you walks, hikes, and adventures with! She also LOVES other dogs and we would love her new home to have a resident dog in it to match her energy, so she can be tired out and spend time snuggling with you then. She not only an adorable and fun little girl, but she has unique silky fur with wirey fur around her ears and snout. Jersey is mostly sleeping through the night with her sibling in her crate, is hard at work on potty training and working on her puppy mouthing as she’s teething. She will need consistent on-going training on all of this as will all the puppies! Jersey girl is ready for adoption and to be by your side to help you with everything and bring you loads of smiles! Please apply at www.HavenAnimalRescueNebraks.org ADOPTION DONATION: $425 * All puppies must be inside only. Story
Hey there, I’m Memphis! I’m an 8-week-old schnauzer (and maybe corgi?) mix with big dreams of being the best boy. I was born on January 8, 2025 to a schnauzer mama but dad is a best guess….notice my short legs and long body! Right now, I’m working hard to keep up with my foster brothers, who are showing me the ropes on how to be a good pup. I LOVE to play—whether it’s chasing after toys, romping around with my foster siblings, or zooming around the yard.   Since I’m still a young pup, I’ll need a patient human to help me keep learning important things like potty training and when it’s time to play vs. time to rest. But I promise, with a little guidance, I’ll be your most loyal and loving sidekick and give you years and years of kisses, cuddles and companionship!   Could you be my forever family? If so, please apply at www.HavenAnimalRescueNebraska.org    ADOPTION DONATION: $425  *ALL dogs are adopted on inside companions!
