Story
Can only be adopted in Texas Looking for a trusty sidekick to go on adventures with? A shaggy dog who'll never leave your side and will cuddle up with you to get through the long night? Well, look no further than Maya! This sandy, shaggy, terrier will sweep you off your feet and will make everyday feel like an adventure! Her honey eyes will always be sparkling to see you wherever you go and whenever you get back home! Maya is going to thrive as an only dog and would do best in a home that does not have a lot of doggie traffic coming and going. She likes her quiet life and she loves her person. Like most diva's she is not one to share her toys, people or space! Maya is the type of girl who would love the simply country lifestyle. Sitting on the porch with her person, afternoon strolls on the backyard. Really the quiet, relaxed, laidback kinda gal. Maya is a medium-sized dog (20-59#). Local adoption fee $200 (in TX)

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.  Introducing Squash, a delightful 4-year-old Wheaten Terrier with a heart full of love and a personality to match! This charming girl may be a bit shy at first, but give her a little time, and you'll be rewarded with her infectious smile, full-body wiggles, and sweet requests for pets. Squash is your loyal shadow, following you everywhere and showering you with her warm affection. Wheaten Terriers are known for their friendly and playful nature, and Squash is no exception! She adores playing with her furry friends, showcasing her playful spirit and gentle demeanor. While she loves her food, she’s still figuring out the concept of treats—watching her ponder the mystery of a treat in your hand is simply endearing! Squash has a beautiful, soft coat that she enjoys having brushed, and she’s always ready to return the favor with a shower of kisses. As a devoted mama, she was incredibly nurturing to her puppies, showing her loving side in the most tender way. Though she's still mastering the art of leash walking, Squash is making progress every day. For now, a fenced area is the perfect place for her to practice her skills while enjoying the great outdoors. While she may not pay much attention to the resident cats, she’s always on the lookout for an opportunity to snag their food—after all, who can resist a tasty treat? Each day, Squash’s confidence blossoms, and her adorable nub wags with excitement as she gazes up at you, inspiring smiles all around. She’s currently working on her kennel and potty training, and while she’s usually quiet in her kennel, she does need frequent bathroom breaks to keep it clean. If you’re looking for a sweet companion who will fill your life with joy, cuddles, and a bit of mischief, Squash is your girl! With her charming personality and loving nature, she’s sure to steal your heart in no time. Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders. Each animal's bio is based on our experience of the animal within our care, an educated guess based on physical characteristics, temperament and information shared. Each dog receives basic grooming when coming into rescue, but for some dogs they have not received grooming attention until recently and grooming may be required shortly after adoption. This will be at the adopter’s expense, so we encourage you to research the breed and be prepared for grooming expenses. Underdog cannot guarantee hypoallergenic or non-shedding qualities of any dogs in our rescue. Some of the animals come from situations where they are lacking experience in a home and confidence in humans. In turn, they require another companion dog and/or a fenced in yard in their forever home in order for them to feel safe. If you are interested in a particular dog whose bio states those needs and do not currently have them, please understand that your home might not be the right fit. Please use the filter on our Adoptable Dogs page to find the perfect match for your home.   ***Be sure to check your spam/junk folder as sometimes our emails end up there*** Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.If you have other questions about me you can email Underdog Rescue at <inquiries@underdogrescuemn.com> ADOPTION EVENTS:      Adoption events are updated at the top of each dogs animals' as their foster home signs up. We recommend filling out an application and we will set up a private appointment. Private appointments are only scheduled after an application is submitted and approved. Each animal's behavior is evaluated and we have a sense of its temperament and personality, but it cannot be guaranteed. We look for adopters who will give each animal the wonderful life and permanent home that he or she deserves in time and with patience.  If you have an interest and ability to be a foster home, please visit our website  www.underdogrescuemn.com/foster-applications  and fill out a foster application. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.  Deborah or Debbie as she goes by, also Debs is the sweetest bashful girl you're going to meet. She bats her beautiful eyelashes at you and your heart melts. She wags her whole bottom at you and will often  jump up to greet you. However, when there is more than one person around, she tends to keep her distance or be very reserved. Debbie is learning to trust people and she does great one on one and building trust with women comes easy while men will have to work a little harder at it. Debbie is so submissive and kind it almost breaks your heart. She's smart and a very good listener. She happily goes in her crate and house training was a breeze with her. Her ideal home is quiet with one or two adults who can give her the love and affection she craves. Debbie has great potential to become a good leash walker and be trained to do about anything. However, she is very jumpy and nervous when she hears loud noises, so patience with her is a must. She also needs another dog to help her build confidence and a fenced yard to keep her safe. Who has love to give this very deserving girl? Please fill out an application to meet her. Story
*Meet the Fab Five!**We recently welcomed five sweet brothers into our care after their owner's home tragically burned down, leaving them at the local shelter. These sweet boys were born on January 12, 2018, making them 7 years old, they do not need to be adopted together. Here’s a quick intro to each of them:- **Yankee:** 62 pounds of charm- **Leo:** A lovable 59 pounds- **Reinhart:** Another 62-pound gentle giant- **Scooby:** The smallest at 52 pounds- **Casper:** The biggest brother at 66 poundsAll of the boys are about 15 pounds overweight and in need of a good grooming session, which we’re working on scheduling ASAP. Despite their rough journey, they were absolute gentlemen during intake—no issues with microchipping, vaccinating, or trimming their nails. We even managed to clean out some of the stickers from their beards. These boys have already shown us their sweet, cooperative natures, and we’re excited to see their personalities blossom as we get to know them better. Stay tuned for individual updates, but in the meantime, if you’re looking for a loyal and loving new family member—or two—these brothers are ready to start their next chapter!IMPORTANT: Please read all below, especially if you live outside of Texas, which is where our rescue is located.Apply to adopt on our website: https://www.charmingpetrescue.org/adoptAll of our animals are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up to date on shots.ALL of our animals are located in Boerne, TX, but transport after adoption is available to other states for a $300 fee for dogs or an additional fee varying by location for cats. If you are seeing our pets posted in your state, that's because you live near a transport stop, they are not currently at that location. Petfinder lists our pets as 'Out of Town' pets at other locations, and Adopt-a-Pet lists our location as a Transport stop. Those are currently the only options they offer to make this clear, so we put this description we've put at the bottom to explain it. You can read more about transport here: www.charmingpetrescue.org/transportWe understand transport is not an option for everyone, but we offer it at the cost we pay the transport company for those who wish to adopt from us.January 15, 2025, 6:09 am
