Merit just arrived today, and he’s in desperate need of a groom, so we’re working on getting a volunteer groomer in. He has tons of burrs stuck in his fur. He was found stray and is a little shy and unsure about what’s going on. But he’s SO sweet. He’s about 7 months old and weighs about 17 pounds. He looks like a Wheaten terrier. Once I do, I’ll greet you with my signature “butt wiggles” and a big smile every time you come home. My foster mom says I light up the whole room when I’m happy! Right now, I’m learning to build my confidence because the world can feel a little overwhelming, especially when it’s loud or busy. I’ve come a long way, though! I’ve discovered I enjoy going for walks, sniffing all the smells, and trotting along nicely on a leash. Sometimes I get startled by strangers or loud noises, but with a little patience, I calm right down. I’d love a human who enjoys leisurely strolls like me—plus, it helps me stay on track with my potty schedule. I’m almost potty trained, but I still need someone to keep me on a regular routine. I might be a little stubborn sometimes, but I’ll reward your patience with so much love and loyalty. I don’t alert when I need to go out, so I need someone who can stick to a consistent schedule to help me avoid accidents. When I’m not out walking, I love lounging at home. I’m a pro at being your work-from-home buddy, curling up in my bed next to your desk. I’m also discovering my playful side and adore plush, fluffy toys. I’m very easygoing with other animals.
