Story
This sweet girl Winnie captures your heart instantly. She came from a hurting situation with Little or no interaction creating her to be fearful of people and completely terrified to be outside. So, she will be a work in progress and we're taking it slow to help build her confidence and trust. Each day there are successes in the next day there are setbacks. We are told she is about 9 years old; she has her vetting; we are trying to give her a little time before we take her into our vet. She does great with the other Pups (which both are ATO4P Pups Beaux and Groucho). Her foster family is working on her house breaking. Since it's evident that she has always been inside probably crated. Her comfort/security is being in the crate, we are working on building her confidence outside of the crate. Last night was the first night she slept outside of the crate, we love the small wins. She gives you that look Android can't help to fall in love with her. So, for now, it's all about showing her and letting her be a dog... and enjoy the simple things in life, like the beautiful sun or the beautiful smelling flowers.

Story
Please read this entire description before applying for Chester the Whoodle. These puppies are unsocialized and fearful. We have two videos that showcase some of their progress. The first video, titled "Unsocialized," was created three weeks ago when they first arrived. They will need to make most of their improvements in their new home. New people can be frightening for them, and they must learn to trust you in order to get better. Therefore, the progress we have made may diminish after they are adopted. Chester was rescued together with his brother, Corkie. Both boys came from the same breeder and shared the same difficult start in life. Chester is a 6-month-old Whoodle who spent his entire life in a kennel before rescue. He arrived very unsocialized, unsure of people, and unfamiliar with the world outside his enclosure. He is the more fearful of the two brothers. He currently weighs about 24 lbs and is expected to be around 35 lbs as an adult. Chester looks to Corkie for guidance and reassurance. He watches Corkie closely to decide whether a situation or person is safe. He will sometimes take treats from your hand, and with time, he will begin to approach more willingly. He needs a patient adopter who understands that trust will come slowly. He does best with a friendly, confident dog his size or smaller. Large dogs overwhelm him. A calm, gentle dog will help him feel secure and show him how to navigate home life. Chester will run from you at first. This is not dislike; he simply has not learned what kindness feels like. With patience, he will begin to relax, observe you from a safe distance, and eventually seek quiet affection. Progress will be slow but meaningful. He is not leash-trained and will not walk on a leash at this stage. A secure, fully fenced yard is required. He is a flight risk and will not come back if he slips away, so doors, gates, and transitions must be handled carefully. He cannot be crated. An approved puppy pen is required. The pen should be placed in your living room or another area where you spend time so he can observe you and slowly get used to your presence. He is familiar with a pen, and it helps him feel safe. We will tell you which type of pen to use upon approval. We offer a 10-day trial adoption to ensure Chester is a good fit for your home and resident dog. Adopter must live within 1 hour of Crown Point. Chester is neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccines.Adoption fee: $395. The adoption fee is $500 if you wish to adopt both boys together. They will still benefit from having another friendly dog in the home, however, as a companion. UPDATE: 4/15/2026. It has been almost 1 month since we rescued them. Chester and Corkie continue to make steady, heartwarming progress. When they first arrived, they wouldn’t come near us — not even for a treat. Now both boys will take treats from our hands, and they’ve started carefully approaching for gentle pets. Their confidence is still fragile. They’re learning that people can be safe, and every day they open up a little more. ADOPTION REQUIREMENTS:• Must live within 1 hour of Crown Point• Fenced-in yard required (no invisible fences)• Someone home during the day• Children 13+• Calm, patient household• Friendly resident dog his size or smaller strongly preferred• No crates — approved puppy pen required• Experience with shy or unsocialized dogs is a plus  ##2698695##
