Story
Meet Mistletoe! Our spirited, mature gal with a zest for life that's simply contagious! She is a perfect medium size at only 40lbs, a wheaten terrier/poodle mix and is 12 years old - but we don't buy it! Mistletoe defies her age daily with her playful and spunky demeanor. She enjoys snuggles, car rides and walks. She may have a few grey hairs, but her heart is full of love and loyalty. No crazy puppy antics here- she is potty trained, crate trained, comes when called, and even knows a couple of tricks! She does not like living with other dogs or cats, but does great as the only dog in the home and we think she deserves that in her senior years. Mistletoe would thrive in a serene environment where she can relax and be cherished. If you're looking for a faithful companion to share your days with, she is your girl! She is spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, heartworm negative, has had a dental cleaning/extractions, senior bloodwork - you name it - she's had the works and is a healthy girl! She is in Brandon/Tampa and her adoption fee is $200. If you're looking for an affectionate companion who still has plenty of pep in her step, she is the perfect match. www.love4pawsfl.org/adoption-process

Story
Who's looking for a very playful "Doodle mix"? Say hello to Daisy Jane. Daisy is a 4 year old spayed pup with a lot of love to give! She is thriving in her foster home but would like a forever home to call her own. Daisy loves her humans and there are not enough hours in the day to play, play, play. She loves playing fetch with her favorite Chuck it ball as well as with other high energy dogs. She's crate trained, and house broken. Her foster is pleased that she acclimates well to new environments, loves car rides and window sniffs but must be secured in her harness at all times in the car due to her high drive to seek fun and excitement. She is good with older kids (8+) but a home with younger kids may not be a good environment. She gets overly excited when meeting other dogs, but once acclimated, she just wants to play. She would be best in a home with another high energy dog. Having a yard is a must for this gal. She's leashed trained and loves to go on walks with her humans. She's recently been groomed to remove her unruly mats; grooming on a regular basis will be required to keep Daisy healthy and happy. She's up to date on all our preventatives and vaccinations. She is so ready to go to her forever home. Will it be yours? For more up to date information on this dog please go to our website @ https://www.playk9rescue.org/adopt-a-dog The adoption fee for this pet covers the cost of care and training which may have been for several weeks or several months depending on the health and training needs. The fee also covers all vet bills during this time to ensure his/her health is improved or maintained and provides you with assurance that this dog has been well cared for while in our possession and evaluated to meet your home's needs. Included in this fee is also life- long training support provided by PLAY! K9 Academy located in Bradenton, FL as well as Life time microchip registration. When you adopt from a local shelter, you may not receive any medical history for this dog nor will you receive any behavioral history. We hope you understand that the minimal adoption fee we are asking is to continue our mission to rescue unwanted herding and working breeds from shelters/owners and get them adopted to their forever home.

NAME:  Carlin BREED:  Schnauzer/Brussels mix SEX:  Male COLOR:  brown/tan AGE:  DOB 10/22/22  WEIGHT:  13.5 lbs FOSTERED BY: LOCATED IN: NOTES FROM FOSTER FAMILY: Carlin is a very loving pup.  He does extremely well with women but is a little skittish around men.  He can become very jumpy if a man raises his hands and may start to bark and run away, with the right training will do well.  He has not been evaluated around children yet think he will be fine. He plays well with other dogs and might even be happier in a two-dog home, especially if the other pet likes to play.   He has not shown any aggressive behavior, but he is a puppy and will do a quick door dash if you’re not paying attention. He travels in a car very well.  He walks well on a leash and only needs a little training on pulling.  He knows “Sit”, “Down,” and “Come” – but mostly when it comes to food.  We believe he has the talent to be well-trained, as each day he shows progress. He LOVES toys and treats.  And at night if you give him a bone, he will lay right beside you on the couch, giving you those warm eyes and many kisses.  He does GREAT sleeping in his bed for a full 8 hours. Carlin would make a great pal! Carlin will need regular grooming.  You can see his "before" picture with his long hair when he came in.  He needed a fresh start and was trimmed down to allow the hair to grow back properly.   NOTE:  Local applications are given first priority and some out of town areas will not be able to be processed.
