Story
Can only be adopted in Texas Looking for a trusty sidekick to go on adventures with? A shaggy dog who'll never leave your side and will cuddle up with you to get through the long night? Well, look no further than Maya! This sandy, shaggy, terrier will sweep you off your feet and will make everyday feel like an adventure! Her honey eyes will always be sparkling to see you wherever you go and whenever you get back home! Maya is going to thrive as an only dog and would do best in a home that does not have a lot of doggie traffic coming and going. She likes her quiet life and she loves her person. Like most diva's she is not one to share her toys, people or space! Maya is the type of girl who would love the simply country lifestyle. Sitting on the porch with her person, afternoon strolls on the backyard. Really the quiet, relaxed, laidback kinda gal. Maya is a medium-sized dog (20-59#). Local adoption fee $200 (in TX)

Story
Merit just arrived today, and he’s in desperate need of a groom, so we’re working on getting a volunteer groomer in. He has tons of burrs stuck in his fur. He was found stray and is a little shy and unsure about what’s going on. But he’s SO sweet. He’s about 7 months old and weighs about 17 pounds. He looks like a Wheaten terrier. He’s sure to come out of his shell in a foster or foreverIMPORTANT: Please read all below, especially if you live outside of Texas, which is where our rescue is located.Apply to adopt on our website: https://www.charmingpetrescue.org/adoptAll of our animals are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up to date on shots.ALL of our animals are located in Boerne, TX, but transport after adoption is available to other states for a $300 fee for dogs or an additional fee varying by location for cats. If you are seeing our pets posted in your state, that's because you live near a transport stop, they are not currently at that location. Petfinder lists our pets as 'Out of Town' pets at other locations, and Adopt-a-Pet lists our location as a Transport stop. Those are currently the only options they offer to make this clear, so we put this description we've put at the bottom to explain it. You can read more about transport here: www.charmingpetrescue.org/transportWe understand transport is not an option for everyone, but we offer it at the cost we pay the transport company for those who wish to adopt from us.December 17, 2024, 5:29 am

Story
Poppy is a 3 year old midsized terrier mix. She was adopted at 3 months old from a shelter, but unfortunately her owner is divorced now and works long hours. So, it's best if Poppy finds a home best suited for her needs and ArkanPaws was given the challenge of finding the best possible home out there.  Poppy loves her people and is very protective, but not aggressive. She is anxious at times and would do best with someone who is retired and home a lot as she would make great company and benefit from the companionship. She does prefer the company of females over men, but it makes sense considering her owner is a woman. As short as Poppy is, she has jumped over fences, so a fence at least five feet tall would be ideal. She does walk well on a leash, however she has to be monitored since Poppy is insecure around strangers and will nip out of anxiety. (Does not bite, but gives a warning nip) Poppy does well with older kids, but small children make her nervous. She gets along great with cats. Snuggling is one of this girl's favorite past times! So, if you enjoy watching tv and would like a snuggle buddy, she is your girl. Poppy graduated from puppy class and is potty trained. Currently she is in Arkansas, however we do have access to transport to New England. Her adoption fee is $450 for New England adopter and that covers the cost of transport, her health exam, and 6 months of Simparica Trio. For local adoptions in Arkansas and surrounding states her adoption fee is $225   ##2231440##

Story
Herman’s Hermit is a very sweet and loving Wheaten Terrier. If you know Wheatens, they are sensitive and thinkers. He knows sit, good on the leash and loves people. Seems to do well with other dogs. Will need patience and positive training to ensure smooth transition. Sleeps through the night in his crate but needs work on consistency with potty training. Please keep in mind that they need to be routinely groomed. Also, this boy gives good hugs and wags his whole body when he’s happy!December 9, 2024, 12:29 pm
